  • Nautilus reels hands down make some of the best reels on the market! Shop the Nautilus CCF-X2 here: bit.ly/3ENu9NK & shop the Nautilus X Here: bit.ly/3gmqUmW
    The CCF-X2 is a winner, there's no doubt about that, but you'd be surprised at how wicked the X-series reels are! I took a few minutes to compare the sounds, setup and feel of these two reels.

    I bought the XL same as you. I actually use a 8wt line for saltwater and I got about 125 yards of backing.

      Awesome dude! Have you ever been spooled by a bonefish on that reel?

      is 125 yards the most that could fit on with the 8 wt line?

    Looking at getting a new Nautilus reel. Would the X Max work for freshwater salmon fishing?

      If you’re using it on a single hand I’d say yes. I’d recommend getting that XL max spool to get some extra backing for those fish. If you’re thinking of using it on a two hand rod, I’d suggest going with something a little heavier in weight. Cheers

      @@ccflyca what about the CCF-X2 8/10 for a nice single hand?

    • @ccflyca
      @ccflyca  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robinsquires5621 yes definitely! The 8/10 is a big reel for a 8wt, but better for a 9+ line I’d say!

      @@ccflyca I have a several 8 wt rods. Would the smaller one be more suited? I fish for Atlantic Salmon here in Newfoundland Canada 🇨🇦 and usually have 200 yards of gel spun on my reels just in case. Just wondering if the smaller 6/8 one might work as I believe the line quantities are spec for maybe 20 lb Dacron

      @@robinsquires5621 Awesome! my steelhead buddies all come from NL. The 6/8 would fit the specs you gave! I used a 6/8 for my 8wt for a number of years. It really depends on if you prefer to have a bigger reel with extra capacity or the smallest reel that will fit your purpose. The major 8/10 benefit will be that it has a higher line pickup!

    On the ccfx can you change it from left to right hand?

    • @ccflyca
      @ccflyca  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup definitely! You can switch them yourself or take it to a nautilus dealer to flip over for you
