The new Indiana Jones movie kicks off with a remixed version of Magical Mystery Tour, and wow, in the theater you hear and feel how much that song rocks. Ringo and Paul are LOCKED IN. John's harmonies and vocal on "roll upppp" sound perfect. Then the horns start blasting. Similar style to Sgt. Pepper's title track, but faster and more rocking and it seems John is more involved in this one.

OK for my money, I've always disliked Blue Jay Way. Not that it's a bad song, but those creepy whiny background vocals annoy the shit out of me. I think the song would have been better without them. And Your Mother Should Know is just a waste of time and space. It's another one of those McCartney songs that only has one verse. Such as Michelle, where the first verse is repeated in French. I use to make my own version on cassette, eliminating them both and adding Lady Madonna plus The inner Light instead. Later on when burning a CD I would also add Hey Bulldog, It's All Too Much and You Know My Name. What fun!

MMT has always been one of my favorites. There’s not many others like it in their catalogue. I had it as a kid on a compilation album so childhood memories. I never liked Two Of Us too much. Now I like the lyrics and the „you and me have memories part“ (classic Paul), but I think the production or instrumentation is weak, Georges bass sound, Johns backing vocals and the rough start where John is saying something randomly with that slowed down laugh. Get Back should have been the first track.

Just saw a clip of Harrison's son that really puts a new slant on a bit of Beatles culture. George is on the Uke, playing a Hoagy Charmichael tune. His son said he would walk around the house and play Hoagy songs, and others from that era. His son knew every Hoagy song thanks to his dad. So I don't think Harrison and Lennon were of the same mind regarding MACCA's 'granny music,' which probably included Your Mother off this record. It had to be rock n roll to satisfy Lennon. Harrison dug the tunes of Hoagy's era as much as MACCA. I think MACCA heard all those tunes initially from his dad, developed a fondness for them. When those tunes are played on a Yuke, groovy as hell.
Agree regarding Mystery Tour. Feel the same way about the Sgt Pepper tune that opens that record.

Man, what an interesting song to be bugged by. Magical Mystery Tour is one of my faves, it's just a trip, like it makes me feel like I'm going on a trip. I love the sound, I love how the vocals sound with that bit of echo. Everything sounds loose and free, but traveling on the same bus. Groovy song, love it! I have two Beatles songs that bug me, I Am The Walrus and Hey Jude. I Am The Walrus is just too much, it's too sharp and noisy (and I like noisy early Pink Floyd stuff). Hey Jude, I don't know, it's just boring, too popular. Every time I hear that intro, "Hey Jude..." I fall asleep. Paul's my favorite too. Now I love both of these songs, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood. One Beatles song that I just don't like period is While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I don't know, it's too wurley and makes me feel dizzy and nauseas. Too slow and depressing sounding. Don't like it straight up. Especially after I found out Clapton played the solo. I know George was just being humble and nice, but man, I thought that was George playing for the longest time.

Hi Larry. I often see your videos, but I often forget commenting, I don’t often think about commenting videos in general. But I just had to comment this one.
A Beatles song that has bugged me is «What’s the new Mary Jane», because it’s so weird and I don’t understand it and it gives me a very weird feeling, and it bugs me a lot, I don’t know how to describe it. It is weird, and the sound effects that to my ears sounds like a whisk whipping cream in a plastic bowl.
And another Beatles song that has bugged me; «Blue Jay Way» has always bugged me. I love it, but it has bugged me for years. I think it is very, very creepy and eerie, and it almost feels like I can feel ghosts fly around me when listening to it. It’s haunted. And as you mentioned, Revolution #9 gives me the same feeling, it’s the same feeling like watching a video from the youtube channel "Nuke’s Top 5", which I highly recomend as well, even if it’s a little creepy, but it’s fun and interesting.
Enough about Beatles songs that bugged me for a moment, I wanted to ask you for a while, how come you not talk about Focus at all in your videos?
Focus is a very underrated band that needs more attention. I know there’s a lot of Focus fans around, but your videos can give Focus even more fans. And talking about Focus also makes your viewers know and be aware about Focus. And at the same time, Focus fans will discover your channel as well. That’s the biggest bonus.
Thank you for reading. I know about the pain in your hands, and typing long messages is too much. I respect that. You don’t need to reply. Just a short reply as a "hearted" comment, or «Thanks, I will» or «I’m sorry, I will not» or anything short like that is an answer enough for me. Thanks.
Thank you for your content Larry! Keep it up!
    Have a great week!
    Cheers!
    Sincerely,
    Elias
P.S: I’m going to deliver an award on a Norwegian televised award show, the Best Movie Editing category at Amanda Awards, which is the Norwegian Oscars. I’m going to say something on stage, introduce the nominees, open a envelope and reveal the winner. On live television. I’m nervous. Wish me luck. I need that.

Hello Elias, I think Focus are brilliant. When “Baby You’re a Rich Man” starts, I always think of the start of Jackie DeShannon’s “Put A Little Love In Your Heart.” But I like the song. Which version of “What’s The New Mary Jane” did you mean? I think “Blue Jay Way" and “Revolution 9” are excellent. My least favorite Beatles song is “Run For Your Life,” because I think the lyrics are disrespectful. I wish you best luck on the Norwegian awards presentation! Congratulations! I hope CSM will feature Fra Lippo Lippi’s and a-ha’s whole career.

One of the few times the US got it right. I would give the title track of MMT a four out of five stars. Usually when I watch the Blu Ray I tend to listen to Macca's commentary. Well for song that I don't really appreciate too much is Hold Me Tight from With the Beatles. It's ok but Paul's vocals on it are bit off kilter.

I’ve never been much of a fan of half of the Let It Be album, with my hottest take being that I don’t really like Get Back. It’s one of those songs I only really listen to if it comes on on a playlist or something, never really seeking it out. I don’t find it to be particularly memorable as a Beatles song, lacking a memorable riff or lyrics.
Let It Be as an album is really weird for me, as I love the other half of the album, specifically Two of Us, Across the Universe, I Me Mine, title track, One After 909, and Long and Winding Road.

As a kid, Mystery Tour was one of my favourite Beatles song. From the album, it's Blue Jay Way and Flying that I don't like. I figure that makes me part of a fairly large group. I do like Your Mother Should Know.
I'm hard-pressed to list Beatles songs that I don't like. I suppose the 2 you mentioned from the White Album would be my choices. Add to that Long Long Long. Or Dig a Pony from Let it Be.

I agree the Magical Mystery Tour is somehow too close to Sgt. Pepper title tune. Like a copy of the album start of Pepper. Almost as if Paul wanted an extra inning with Pepper rather than present something totally different. However, on it's own it's still great and when the new technology is applied to widen it out and seperate the elements I'm guessing it will really come alive, can't wait.
Song that I didn't like that I do now is And Your Bird Can Sing. The latest remix truly changed my mind, like I finally heard it.

I've never really engaged with "The Ballad of John and Yoko". The fact that only John and Paul were on the track is not the reason for this. Parts of it reminded me of another artist's song from that era. But I've never been able to identify who that artist is (or the song). I've never particularly liked the cover "Kansas City/Hey Hey Hey Hey" but that might be because it is an old song written by Lieber and Stoller in the early 50's. I never really liked it when the Beatles covered 50's songs as I regarded them as 60's artists. I never liked 1950's rock as a youngster but have softened my opinion on it in recent years. Cheers.

I think it's because the song doesn't go anywhere. It just serves as a sort of introduction and doesn't aspire to anything else. It sounds second rate to Sgt. Pepper. But I do very much love it, but more for its sound than as a song. Unfortunately Magical Mystery Tour has one of my very least favorite Beatles songs, Your Mother Should Know, which no matter how much I try to listen to it in the right mood, I just can't stand it. Oh well. The rest of the album is A+ songs. I Am the Walrus might be my favorite Beatles song.

And the bit that begins "the mystery trip.." is John. I think John added quite a few bits to the song. Paul said the song was co-written with John. That's why they were so good. They could both improve each other's songs. A double strength.I like the song because it's different and so inventive. I used to think it sounds like George doing the intro bit.

The Rolling Stones basically ripped off "Magical Mystery Tour" with their song "On With The Show". Though, they were probably just re-doing the "Sgt. Pepper" concept, like The Beatles were. It never bothered me, it's actually one of my favorite Beatles songs. Ones that always bugged me were, "You Like Me Too Much" and "Good Night". In the case of the first song, it's like they're barely trying. And I just didn't like the style of "Good Night". I like the Take 10 outtake much more on "The White Album" box set.

I only dislike Run For Your Life mostly for its disturbing lyrics and I hate that it is included in one of their best albums, with so many amazing contributions from John, and When I Get Home because it simply sounds lazy and uninspired as hell.
In the case of Magical Mystery Tour, I don’t dislike it, I love the trumpets that raise at the end of each chorus line. But as a teenager it made me realize it was Paul’s attempt to “keep the Sgt. Pepper’s vibe” and made me realize he was slowly becoming a little of a control freak, in a nice way. I felt Paul like the hyperactive kid who always convinces the others to play a game their not really interested on. But at the same time his efforts were what made the band to push to their limits. The following years were not as “happy” for them as a band, but as musicians they were excelling their genius, always because of their hyperactive friend.
