I am not sure I want to wade into this debate but it seems to me that Eminem was highlighting undiagnosed mental illness and how that is an almost unsolvable part of the gun ownership debate. Not sure he was trying to say guns should be outlawed totally but that something needs to change as mass shootings due to mental illness are getting worse every year. I would also respectfully disagree that any law that tries to control gun ownership is blatantly "anti-gun". Anything that has the ability to EASILY cause mass casualties needs to be regulated which is probably why you can't go down to the local hardware store and buy dynamite. Good laws exist for good reasons. Current laws say it is illegal to sell guns to felons or mentally unstable people yet very few people would say these laws are anti-gun. It is just common sense. There are lots of other things like age limits and holding periods that seem like common sense also. Nobody likes more rules and regulations but again, the amount of school shootings alone has reached staggering proportions and while most agree something should be done, nobody seems to know or agree on what should be done. Personally I think the age limit should be raised for semi auto's. Many of the school shooters are teenagers and the problem could be greatly reduced by putting ownership of certain kinds of guns to age 21. It really is no different then how the drinking age has changed throughout the years.

The issue is mass murders which are happening too often and those weapons are typically purchased legally. The problem is that even suggesting psychological evaluations seems to be a problem for gun activists. Anything that causes you any inconvenience becomes anti 2nd amendment regardless of any possible benefit that could come out from it.

Most gun crimes aren’t done by ar-15’s, machine guns, or ppl that stockpile weapons and ammo. It’s done by pistols and by people that obtain guns illegally. Which means the laws would only affect law abiding citizens.

I grew up with guns and have shot many. I am not anti-gun, but I am opposed to gun-related violence. We can combat the violence with something other than more violence. The old saying that it takes "a good person with a gun to stop a bad person with a gun" has been disproved over and over. It's just not true. We can find ways to have and enjoy guns while also reducing gun-related violence, all without violating the Constitution. As of 6/9/2023, there have been 277 mass shootings in the USA in 2023, more than one per day. A mass shooting is an event in which 4 or more people are shot / killed with a firearm. Let's try to have less of those by prevention, because police and other armed responses are failing us.

I personally sleep in peace at night knowing that not a single person in my neighborhood, or country for that matter, have a gun, except for the ones who are supposed to protect me. I live in N. Ireland - born and raised in 'The Troubles'. The army was everywhere, machine guns were a non-remarkable thing cos they were an everyday sight. Assault rifles were inches from your face at daily ‘road checkpoints’ whilst your details were ‘verified’. Terrorist activity ruled our lives, along with an oppressive government regime. Bombs & bomb scares were so common that they became almost 'normal'.
I was actually held at gunpoint in my own home by a ‘Paramilitary’ with an assault rifle - I was just 19 yrs....PTSD still remains

I have replied twice to FlawdTV about actual gun violence numbers and not just percentages regarding nearly 43,000 gun related deaths last year. Of those, 654 were from mass shootings, over 1600 were children, and there have been 92 mass shootings since the year 2000 which is over half of the number since 1966. He tried to use the argument that only 3% of gun deaths were from mass shootings, but that is it easy to throw that number out because it sounds better. Each one of those lives mattered. This guy decided to remove my responses. 🤦🏻♂️
It absolutely is anti gun. It’s anti gun for people that do not deserve to own guns. I saw nothing wrong with how they acted in their own stream. I don’t agree that anyone should have the right to own a gun. I am a concealed carry licensed owner. If you want to carry, you should absolutely have to go through a course on how to care, carry and use your weapon. I appreciate this channel for giving me a different side to a debate people like my father and I have. It is what it is, and the constitution allows for it.

Anti-gun does not = gun control. Look at it this way, if I would like for someone who drives a car to be evaluated and tested before they get behind the wheel for everyone’s safety does that make me anti-car? No it just means I would like some assurance that person knows what they’re doing and won’t be reckless or ignorant to the responsibility that comes with that. In the USA you can buy a gun even if you’re a convicted murderer….let that sink in. Legally you can’t own one but you can go to an individual with a gun and buy it no background check required. I’m a gun owner myself and love guns but at the same time I believe their should be preventative measures put in place to prevent as much tragedy as possible

All that yelling at the end only cause their definition of anti gun is any infringement on the "right to bear arms", whereas chat interpreted anti gun as gun bans and wanted to distance it from EM's gun restriction wishes.
Let's all stay calm, get our definitions sorted out and then we can argue on a solid foundation.
My respect to you for still saying it's a dope song, not completely dismissing thing not fitting your world view is a great basis for civil discussions.
One point though, "the second amendment doesn't exclude machine guns", therefor it wasn't intended is a bit silly when you consider when it was written, entertain the idea that the law would have been a little more specific if our modern guns had been available at the time.

@Flawd TV agreed 100%. But I don't think anti-gun and gun control are mutually exclusive. I'm a gun owner that has zero problems with them being harder to get if we can find a way to eliminate the mass shootings. But those solutions can never be created if we can't take the political absolutes out of the conversations.

@Flawd TV agree with the thought. But you think there's literally no way to come together and regulate more responsibly? I don't believe that. I don't think we can just throw our hands up in the air while groups of children and other innocent people get murdered for no reason. Law Abiding citizens won't be affected by stricter laws, they'll be affected when dome crazy person walks through the door with a machine gun. I totally get where you're coming from, but I also think we have enough smart people to come up with a better regulations to avoid tragedy without infringing on our rights as a whole.

The government has been exploiting problems that they can't fix for years just because we ask them to save us. That's where welfare comes from. I'm black so I know they ain't heroes and have never been. Giving these demons power to make us more vulnerable is exactly why the media reports mass shootings done with legal firearm but not the much more prevalent and much more lethal local crime done with illegally obtained firearms. It's all political brainwashing.

Little debate aside, thought it was cool when Em stood up and the audience was revealed as the lady said "this is what it looks like". Kind of a way of again doubling the song/video by showing us the audience from Em's perspective.
The whole end scene kind of looks like "this is you, the people I perform for. When I'm off stage, this is the behavior I see from you when I look at the news."
It kind of passes a bit of judgment, makes him question why he does it. But also shows that he understands the responsibility he has as a performer.
He's there for that audience, he's there because of that audience. He doesn't want to see all of this and would feel responsible if something like the shooting happened at one of his shows.
....A little afterthought, the way the lights of the audience flicker and surround him and the stage, could visualize stars.
Do you think that the movie theater shooter would have went in there if every single person had a gun on them he would have got blasted in the lobby do you think the School shooters would go into the schools if every single administrator and teacher walking around had a gun on their hip just like a cop that are supposed to protect and service but instead ripples from our cars and stranglers to death if everyone had a gun in this world less grown crimes would be committed
