I agree. I've watched a lot of reviews on this song and no one has caught nearly as much as what Knox did. First time watching a review from him and I'm really impressed.
I’m going to disagree with you. I think this is the most disingenuous reaction I’ve ever seen to any song by any reactor. It’s pretty clear that he knew the entire song front to back before this video. I only made it about five minutes through the video but with the disclaimer at the beginning and then to act like he doesn’t know where it’s going with bullets and Las Vegas, maybe he’s just a moron?
I knew there was a reason this reaction is so powerful, and one I like to watch back so much, when it comes to this song... Now I realise you're right. Em would be proud of this reaction and breakdown
@@KnoxHillknox my brother between spittin bars and breaking them down you're killing it bro, great reaction love the passion you break down the music with.
@@iwinrar5207 .... no sh*t, turd ..., but LITERALLY..., the very next day after this video/song came out, it was all over the news due to the song talking about mass shootings & gun control.
One thing everyone seemed to let slip past them, when Em walked on stage and it showed thousands of people in the crowd, the news anchor said, speaking about the shooter, "and this is what he looks like", insinuating that he just looked like your average joe, like any of the other thousands of concert goers at Em's shows or anyone's shows and he could walk out on stage and never know. That's a calculated moment in the video, not coincidental. Such a deep song. Also, the chorus. I don't want to be alone in the darkness, to most people that's like saying I don't want to be alone and I want out of this darkness... in this instance, with someone this far gone, who's clearly been in his darkness for so long, him saying this isn't him wanting to get out of it, it's bringing others into it before he dies. He's been in this darkness alone for so long and now he's bringing other people into it with him by way of violence... Em is beyond a genius.
Chris R, I thought when it shows him walking on stage in front of the crowd that maybe it meant that the shooter got what he wanted and is now famous or a celebrity if you will. I could be totally wrong though, that was just my first thought.
also, i believe that people thought he went too far is because, in contrast to other times in his discography, this wasn't some name drop, this was dragged out vivid description of the event, but in this light that somewhat humanises the decision taken tldr: its a long and masterful vivid description, opposed to his older name drops
I ALSO would say JUST HIS KNOWLEDGE AND FACTS ALSO that swirl around in Eminem’s head about Curtis Jackson’s life (“50 Cent’s) and movie about it. BECAUSE HE WAS THERE and close by to KNOW when it happened, AND ACTUALLY ASK “50” some questions AMD DO THE RESEARCH ON IT. Cause look how much research he did on ALL that at the end etc AND 50 was shot ON STAGE ALSO when he WALKED OUT to the crowd that he had ZERO knowledge who shot him at the time or ANYONE could have until they got the guy AND it was TO AN UNREGISTERED THUG out to get him WITH NO KNOWLEDGE that dude was out to get him AND 50 BARELY hung on for so long and I imagine because I’ve listened to SOMUCH ON HIM, BY HIM, AND ABOUT that particular incident and MY KNOWLEDGE of LITERALLY almost being pronounced dead at a car wreck scene AND I SLIPPED IN & out of consciousness. Just TONS & TONS I could relate to with ALL OF THIS. BUT I IMAGINE “50” probably has said something about the darkness and trying to stay alive. AND PROOF!!!! Except he died. BUT YES Eminem has TONS in his head of crazy thoughts to write til he is 80 lie he says in “Higher”. He is SO BRILLIANT HE NEEDS TO BE STUDIED IN A LITERATURE CLASS AND his brain when he dies needs to go to research seriously (BUT HOPE HE IS ALIVE TO A 💯). After listening to Knox and HIS thoughts & sitting down and RE-WATCHING this WITH the official video not the lyrics only. I 💯 % have a TOTALLY DIFFERENT TAKE AFTER my 1st initial reaction. I don’t think and didn’t that Eminem is against guns BUT WANTS MORE COMPLETE AWARENESS TO ALL SIDES!!!!!!! He knows his bodyguard’s have to have them etc and friends BUT he can see ALOT more than just your average person WITH HIS LIFE EXPERIENCES & knowledge all around him. He is amazing. AND @Knox Hill DO NOT ROAST ME OR THINK “Oh Lord........tons of run on sentences” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. I am on a call just sitting SO I DON’T have THE TIME to put all the punctuation and write properly. I actually have a REAL EXCUSE that is good NOT LACK OF CORRECT English knowledge. ACTUALLY THE OPPOSITE & me & calls now (for others.....🚒🚑 1st Responder) I MIGHT let some comments slide IF I can at least read them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. BUT I DO laugh at what runs through your head (Knox) when you see mine. Like “Oh gracious it is about to be long” 🤣🤣🤣 I’m just glad I had some time to type this one out. AND READ a few comments. THANK YOU KNOX for ALL YOU DO TOO!!!!!!!! We need more of YOU ALSO!!!!!!!! Oh and P.S. You meant 2nd Amendment not 5th.......had to say something cause I can’t believe how many in your comment section didn’t catch or know that one you ACCIDENTALLY said wrong cause I know you know the difference just didn’t catch yourself. WE NEED BOTH AMENDMENTS!!!!! Awesome breakdown for my 2nd time like I said where I got to WATCH with the video. Ok back to watching this scene (AND TO OTHERS......I AM ON A CALL NOT WORKING ONE......IM HAVING TO WAIT until I am needed THEN I DROP EVERYTHING)
To me personally, this is Em's greatest song. When this album came out, I was listening to it driving to work and this song came on as I was pulling into the parking lot. I sat in my car to finish listening because I had to see where it was going, and the revelation of what it meant hit me about halfway through and mostly all I did at work that day in my head was think about this song. I watched the music video later in the week and was blown away. One of the greatest pieces of storytelling I've heard in a very long time.
Definitely a master peice, annoys me when people say certain rappers are goats, that word is thrown around to easy, u have rappers like jay-z who rap single syllables and then u have Em who just bends the entire language but is often overlooked. Noone has to work hard anymore to be deemed the greatest. I feel u have to earn it!!
@cy06 agree. I have all his albums and I've really, really tried to like him but he's just, elementary. He only blew up because of his beef with Nas and marrying Beyonce, unfortunately he's known as a lyrical rapper, don't know why when u have the likes of Tech9, Eminem, Dax, Busta Rhymes, Crooked I, to name a few but Jay, Nah, he's top 5 because people just follow the crowd. Lyrically Tupac shouldnt be top 5 either, he's a Black icon yes, but not a lyrical rapper. The dude was half actor, half gangster
@@Where_has_the_sanity_gone i think 2pac is top 5 because of his rhymeschemes alliteration track prescence cadence word placement flow shit like that hes not top 5 lyrically but if you combine everything hes gotta be top 5
@@Where_has_the_sanity_gone Dax? ok thats a good one... Being a complex lyrical genius isnt the be all end all, the reason so many have Pac in their top 5 is because of the story telling aspect, his conscious hip hop concepts, his voice and delivery and his messages and impact on the culture. Being lyrical isnt the onlt variable in the GOAT discussion
John Travolta staying alive by inches is also a reference to the movie "Pulp Fiction" where John Travolta's character survives the shooting at the beginning of the movie by inches
@@rickbuter9339 Thank you. BeeGees song Stayin Alive. Travoltas breakthrough role, according to many people, was Tony Manero from Saturday Night Fever. There's also "try vault uh". People vaulting over walls, fences, cars... Anything. Just to hide from the shooter.
Eminem isn't afraid to be controversial and speak out, and that's something really admirable about him. He's not afraid to bring out our issues through music.
The "Hello Darkness, my old friend" sample from Simon and Garfunkel is deep. Not many samples go back as far as 1963 (The year Kennedy was assassinated, from a gun aimed from a window overlooking the excited crowd that was simply there for a day of fun, a celebrity having come to town). This genius stuff is 7 levels deep.
David Dusbiber Yeah, came to say this, thought I was tripping-wonder if he would have caught the double entendre of this song as quickly without the warning 🤔 but I loved his breakdown regardless
Kinda ruins the reactions in my opinion. I always liked seeing when the reactors exactly what em was doing. Legit only reason I watch darkness resctions
My favorite part is at 14:20 right when the lady says "this is what he looks like", Em (representing the shooter) walks on stage into the spotlight in front of all those of people. The double meaning is so powerful. Also this is the best reaction to this song I've ever seen you catch everything bro! Good shit
I stand by this being Eminem’s masterpiece and my favourite song, the double, triple entendres, hidden meanings, chorus, use of sound of silence just makes this song so great to listen to.
You mean, 99% of *mainstream* rappers. Most the meaningful talent and messages are shadow banned by mainstream media because they are actively trying to dumb people down.
The mere brilliance of Em’s mind is impeccable….the way he flips words and uses that word, takes it, and uses it in so many ways and pronunciations is pure genius!!!! NOBODY has ever done more double and triple entendres, yeah definitely the Goat 🐐
In Background the voice talking is line from" sound of silence" a simon and garfunkal song from 1964 which is also a very dark song...... Hope you notice my comment.✌️
Definitely one of the top 5 songs from the album! From the art and creativity point of view, it is probably one of the top three of all time! the whole song is a double entendre and that the GOAT hinted it at the end of first verse with that ad-lib! This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it! So FIRE! and if one listen to the music only rather than go straight to video would be even a better experience! Great work bro!
I love how you break down these songs. You explain things that other reactors either don't know or catch, so I'm enjoying this. Thank you. If I can make a request: NF Mansion ✌❤🤣
Bro honestly you catch so many references its ridiculous. Koch! And Kisersosa! Only reactor to catch both and only reactor to know the ref of Usual Suspect! GREAT JOB!!!
How did I just find you? Insane! You, the Dads, and Stevie are the best reactors and it’s not even close. And your entirety is unreal! I don’t care if you’ve heard it before or not. I’m here to hear what I didn’t hear.
3:05 something pulls EM closed again. Em as in eminem. Something keeps him from speaking his mind when he wants to. Something holds him back. Something makes him anxious to go all out 4:24 the Vegas shooter didn't know his father. He was on the top 10 most wanted in the US. Eminem also didn't know his father.
For Knox to be speachless at the end, That makes this music of Em make it impactfull. Thats why i love Em...The guy can do everything from Rapping about life, politics, trolling, disses like man...The guy is a total genius.
This is one of his best songs and one of the most well written pieces of art ever. Its so fucking creative! When he raps slow, hes saying something that he wants people to hear!
I thought this song was very interesting. When I first heard it I was just listening through new singles. It caught my attention because I love his music. At first, I kept taking my earbuds out thinking the background sounds were real. In the beginning, just listening for the first time you think it is about his life and going out on stage. Then halfway I was catching the possible double meanings but then he would hit back with a line that really sounded like he was performing at a concert. Can I tell you what a shock it was when I got to the end when it was obvious what the song was about. I turned off iTunes and when to watch the video right away. The video lets you in much earlier than just listening to the song. Really great.

As a person who listened to the audio first, I was just absolutely confused, especially with him just pulling out the guns out of nowhere, and begin shooting people. The video lets the shock and surprise actually happen. The audio is so abrupt, it's still shocking, but it stuns you.
Lmao. You’re right. It’s just a part of my format for the videos but yes, I’m definitely the inferior one in this relation and should be trying to be certified by him 🤣🙌
This is by far the best breakdown I've seen for this amazing song. If you like stan, then I think you should react to bad guy, it's from mmlp2 so is quite old but in my opinion is one of his most underrated songs and has one of his best verses. It's also a sequel to stan, carrying on the story
As far as I can remember, Eminem is my first favorite artist. Lose Yourself era and I was around 9yrs old then. I don’t listen to him continuously but I have my moods just like this week when I entered that wormhole again and I discoverer your channel. I love this song and it’s the first time I watched the video and it makes me cry how deep it is. I guess sometimes you hear what you wanna hear, and I used to only hear about him being being alone in the darkness in his head that he has to release music as his therapy, hence bringing us along in his darkness. I really don’t get why people would hate on him when he gives so much in his songs in all sense (technique, lyrics, emotions, you name it). Anyway, I’m a fan of your reactions so I’m hitting that subscribe button. 🫡
Just saw this now for the first time and I can honestly say u have the most knowledge on history of rap and other things it’s unbelievable. I can’t wrap my head around how intelligent u are, keep up the reactions brother
something i noticed only now, even though i watched the video a few times. at 10:19 he opens the bag, and then there's a shot from inside the bag, and how its all dark and suddenly there's a bright light, that in my opinion symbolizes the shooter's feeling of being in the darkness and then finding a way out, and even if this way out is horrible, its the only one he sees, so he feels like he has to take it.
Actually brotha Keyser Soze's introduction was him killing an entire town of people for gangsters killing his family . The reference makes much more sense that way too.
I dont think thats how it went. I watched the movie a looong time ago, but i specifically remember the moment when there was a standoff and the other guys took his family as hostage and had a gun to their head telling Keyser to give up his business. Instead Keyser shot his own kids and wife. I think what em ment here is brutality of a man like Keyser. edit: you are actually right. he did commit a genocide. :D /watch?v=EdeCPGNRjOU
I think Soza is also a reference to the fact that he has just revealed the plot twist, as well. That movie was one of the first I remember to have such an insane plot twist. You think he's one person the entire movie and he turns out to be someone else just as you may think the guy in the hotel is Em the whole video, right up to the moment of the reveal. So I think it deals more with the fact that it was a plot twist/identity reveal.
@@KnoxHill It was very interesting to see which reactors caught on quickly and which ones did not realize until the man took off the hood. There are many hints but since everything is a double, understandably not everyone connected the dots. I'm pretty sure I did not the first time I saw the video.
Everytime I see any of your reaction videos, the one thing that catches me out is your knowledge about the little schemes and punch lines and you catch them so straight up. I love your reaction videos and I hope you reach where you want to in your life. All the best brother. From India.
Even though this isn't a recent release, I've always loved the song and was blown away by reaction videos by others, missing the double through the whole song between him in the media spotlight, and the spotlight the media gives the shooters. Thank you for seeing it and getting it right!
I know im late to the conversation, but i got chills all over my body and teared up when you mentioned your daughters going to school. The high school i attend is about 1000 people over its capacity, and that traffic in the school can make it so easy for someone to try something. I dont feel safe walking around the school. Keep your daughters safe and have a good evening 🙏
Like it was mentioned in the comments, the warning prior to the video playing is new. It wasn’t there originally. One of my favorite lines is when he says “you can’t murder a show nobody is at”... mind blowing and another double entendre from the 🐐. Also, 10:05pm is when the vegas shooter starting shooting. Just a FYI in case you didn’t know because Eminem is a pure genius 🔥
Bro you have no idea how much this reaction is appreciated. By far the BEST reaction i've watched, you're the first person i've seen who picked up on all the double entendres and meanings. Much love bro keep it up!! Support from Denmark
Dude I've said it before, You have the best reactions to hip hop I have ever heard. I only found you this year and I have heard so many reaction channels. You are by far #️⃣1️⃣
Glad I subbed to you. You've got so many compelling thought streams going on about Em's songs and all the complexity within that you've very quickly become an essential companion guide for me to properly enjoy them. Your knowledge and sharpness and empathy is top shelf. Nothing more to say!
This was an amazing breakdown of the song. Always enjoy throwing on a knox break down of an Eminem song at work because of its indepth and the length of the video is a plus for me not a negative. Great job!
Your on another level Knox. Ur break downs are truly on another level hey 🤩. Love listening to them bro... especially when u have the opportunity to break down masterpieces like this track. 1 of the best reactors on utube by far 😊😇😇😇
The piano at the end and 'Hello Darkness my old friend, I've come to talk to you again' are Simon and Garfunkel's opening to Sounds of Silence. th-cam.com/video/NAEppFUWLfc/w-d-xo.html A perfect transition for a similar plea to communicate. What a huge statement. Thanks for opening my eyes to so much more context.
I remember when I first heard this song, the hook grabbed me! I don't want to be alone in the darkness anymore. It wrenched my heart. Then seeing the video, it was so enlightening. I felt that if I could do more to stop such violence, I would, but I live in Canada and I don't know who to talk to. I want to do what I can to help. I really do care so very much. Love you, Knox! Keep up the good work.
Damn Knox, you got a lot of knowledge about movie characters! As a cinema-addict person, I really respect you for that, regardless of you being good in deciphering the bars and do what you do throw sweat and blood. Wish you all the best, sir!
Great video and breakdown. A few things (I know, I'm super late); 1.) Colt .45 is not a revolver, it normally refers to the M1911 from Colt which is a semi-automatic pistol. 2.) And you said 5th Amendment (the right to not provide witness against yourself) when you meant the 2nd Amendment. 3.) The piano melody is from "Sound of Silence" which the first lines are "Hello Darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again". Which is just absolutely brilliant.
This is a great reaction and super impressive! You knew all these double entendres right off the top of the dome and gave me a ton of insight into a couple that I didn’t know like scope and the banana clip
Other message- Seemingly anyone we know could become this kind of shooter. People battle darkness, depression, alcohol/drug dependency and hide it every day...It just takes that moment for someone to snap and then they’re ‘murdering a show’ in a whole different way. And we may never find a motive. Feels like Em’s saying “so at that point, what does it matter the motive? People have died, and we didn’t do anything to stop it.” Forget psychoanalyzing-fix the real problems with our gun laws. You can’t predict who’s gonna win or lose their battle with the darkness next.
Man, appreciate the insight and perspective on this. I think you’re right in relation to Em’s point, and everyone has a tipping point - it’s just depends on how much weight and burdens you pile on their shoulders and the support system they have. Anyways, thanks for supporting the channel bro 💯
@@KnoxHill, bull it's a scam to remove the right of the people to keep and bare arms. 20,000 gun laws in America, doing the same thing and expecting a diffrent result is the definition of insanity.
Jeremy McIntyre There’s no guns in England with gun control and there’s no mass shootings and very low gun violence. Same with Germany, same with Norway, same with many other countries. You can make all the arguments you want for guns, I’m just saying if we really want it to stop maybe we should look at the examples of others who’s citizens don’t need guns yet they feel much safer than ourselves
@@KnoxHill, no they do not feel safer London still has many massacres. 4 since 1980 and 9 in great Britain. The murder and violent crime rate has, increased every year since 2015. USA today claims in 2018 London has more crime than NYC. We have all ready tried gun control it dosent work. But gun freedom does but no one talks about that. Funny how the states and cities with less gun control have less crime and less violence. Funny how no one talks about 1 million lives saved from violence and murder by firearms each year. Your comparison is not good because firearm rights do not exist anywhere in the world. Except US, and maybe Switzerland which requires its citizens be armed. Yet has the lowest murder rate in the world, Honduras has 100% gun bands and has the highest murder rate in the world. You gun control doesn't work, there is no real stat you can provide that will ever change that.. The right to defend yourself is very important and apart of America that make us the best country in the world. We do not look to the old world for new world answers, the old world looks to us. I will and in time I will win because our founding fathers was right in 1776 and it is still right today. It being necessary to sustain a free state the right of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed. You do not have the right to take away the rights of others, and you can no convict citizens of crimes they have not committed.
I can't believe this is a first time listen reaction. Wow bro! I've watched a lot of reaction vids you are def the best out of them all. @Life Shaq my fav but you're getting there my G. Sheesh!
You're aware of the movie "Stayin Alive" though right? Directed by Sly Stallone, starring John Travolta. I can see why you might correlate it with Pulp Fiction though, with the unloaded pistol that misses both of them, one of my all time favs.
Prettzx... The movie Stayin Alive from 1983 is a sequel to the first one, Saturday Night Fever, from 1977. Its title itself is a reference. It was named after the song from the first one. Why do you argue against it by posting the Wikipedia article that states our point? That's like shooting yourself in the foot. No. Both feet.
Love everything about your videos: the comments on production, your ability to catch the lines and explain them, the evident passion you have for what you do...keep up the good work, man :)
I completely agree with you. No matter what everyone's views on guns, we need to acknowledge that there is a problem and that something needs to change.
There absolutely is a problem. We have broken families. Abuse in the homes. Single, struggling parents. Broken marriages. In some areas, rampant poverty. Mental health issues from a lonely, overcrowded society torn apart by depression. And we wonder why people go on rampages? I am pretty much convinced that the "real" problem is the moral, ethical, and spiritual condition of our nation, because many other nations with much stricter gun laws or no guns altogether, have just the same amount of violence if not more so (think China, Russia, almost all South America, African nations, India)... There absolutely is a problem. We need to address the roots.
M Mac People bring guns into no gun zones from places where you can get guns. And shootings happen in gun zones too 🙈 If you take away the guns you take them away from criminals too, this will take time but it’s not impossible by far 🙈 A good guy with a gun can do just as much damage in a stressful situation as a bad guy with a gun 🙈 People just keep ignoring the facts and repeating the same bullshit arguments that have been debunked for decades now. Just admit you love guns and you don’t care if the current laws can’t stop mass shootings. It’s not a great argument, but it’s the only one you’ve got
@@taxicorky In a world without guns, like Europe, what you get is criminals with weapons and a disarmed civilian population. Firstly, a crude gun can be built from hardware store supplies in your garage. Secondly, for home-defence guns are better than knives and clubs. That is the big benefit. Go invent Star Trek phasers and we can just stun all the bad guys. That'd be great and nobody would have to die. But we don't have that technology accessible for the civilian world yet. Meanwhile, single mothers protecting themselves from their abusers and stalkers, among many, many other scenarios are all aided by a modern gun be it a shotgun or a pistol. Otherwise the fight goes to the strongest and most violent, or the ones who attack in numbers. Thats how it was for all of human history prior to the gun. Criminals simply ganged up on people with knives. Raped were common. They rarely got caught. Exactly what we are starting to see in European nations again.
OMG I have listened to this song a lot and it's the first time I heard those two words that Em muddled under his breathe "double entandra" thanks for pointing that out dude 😊
Wow 😮. Knox you don't miss a thing! Thank you for doing this! I'm not sure I'd catch half of it! It really helps to understand all the levels! You're The GOAT!!!
Eminem’s the last person you’d expect to get this message from, he’s almost trying to use the shock value of him making this statement in this way to make his point for him
Since this video. There's been 2800 mass shootings in the U.S.A. 2800x4 (minimum victimsfor a mass shooting) That means 10.5K plus have died. Things won't change until the law does but people rather change women's rights
An amazing reaction to one of my favorite Eminem songs. Such powerful lyrics with an amazing breakdown. I love the end where you talk about guns and gun laws. I hunt as and come from a lineage of Hunter's. I agree with what you are saying.
Not sure if this was discussed in the comments but another take I got from the “some of them John Travolta, staying alive by inches” lyric was referencing the movie Face Off, where John Travolta’s character was literally alive by inches because he was shot in the chest but it was inches away from his heart. I was like WHATTTTTTTTTTT when I realized that after listening to this song a couple of times to catch it lol
This song is great it hits so many levels. Deep and awakening. Talking about the mass shooting problem in the world. Also mixing it in with his struggle with drugs and alcohol and performances. But you already know my dude. Great reactions!
I got this notification this morning as something TH-cam recommended & I’m glad it did you got a new subscriber. I really loved your reaction/breakdown & everything you had to say.
Great job catching all of the bars and lyrics. No one catches the Sound of Silence reference in the hook. "Hello Darkness my old friend". Great channel for explaining bars. Keep it up.
notice how it also keeps switching between two very different beats. a slick modern trap-like beat and an old school sampled drum loop sounding like it's played off a vinyl. kind of a cue that you're listening to two different songs
That warning at the start of the video wasn't there when Eminem first released the song, after the vegas scheme near the beginning of the song i think anyone would catch on where this was going! Very clever the fact he turned this whole song into a double entendre
@@KnoxHill sure i recommend eminem - Those Kinda Nights , eminem feat anderson paak lock it up , marsh, yah yah , never love again, stepdad, little engine, , i will , no regrets , farewell
You're the only reactor that I have seen that put emphasis on the fact that he said the words "double antondra" that's very important because Em is pushing the point, he's desperate for people to understand the actual meaning behind his words and he wants you to go back and listen to it if you haven't already understood what hes driving home right now. This is Em's Masterpiece.
Just seeing this now, as a gun owner i agreed with this song, awsome song and instant classic. But what i think em is saying is that he is sick of this happening as many others, he not against guns or the 2nd amendment but maybe hes opening up for a solution to keep guns out of the hands of people that shouldnt have them, yea people may not have prior convictions or mental health issues but most people arent regularly checked for mental health when getting and renewing ccw permits.
Nah, it's all bs. You really think a random guy with no problems can go and shoot people for no reason and then he kills himself and the "pro-gun" president signs a bill to ban bump stocks? Nothing happens that easy.
Well u don’t know if he is against them or not because I would think that he would be considering two of his Barry close friends, bugz and proof were killed by guns

I'm sorry for doing this but here is the best reaction.. m.th-cam.com/video/E9Uwk-BC2uA/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for pointing these out man and for adding even further to the dissection! Great points that I 100% agree with. Appreciate you and the support 🙌
Chris R, I thought when it shows him walking on stage in front of the crowd that maybe it meant that the shooter got what he wanted and is now famous or a celebrity if you will. I could be totally wrong though, that was just my first thought.
also, i believe that people thought he went too far is because, in contrast to other times in his discography, this wasn't some name drop, this was dragged out vivid description of the event, but in this light that somewhat humanises the decision taken
tldr: its a long and masterful vivid description, opposed to his older name drops
Jesus Christ. This explanation is legendary. It opened my eyes to that part. Eminem is beyond genius
@@Where_has_the_sanity_gone 1 hundred percent bro i dont think jay z is top 20
@cy06 agree. I have all his albums and I've really, really tried to like him but he's just, elementary. He only blew up because of his beef with Nas and marrying Beyonce, unfortunately he's known as a lyrical rapper, don't know why when u have the likes of Tech9, Eminem, Dax, Busta Rhymes, Crooked I, to name a few but Jay, Nah, he's top 5 because people just follow the crowd. Lyrically Tupac shouldnt be top 5 either, he's a Black icon yes, but not a lyrical rapper. The dude was half actor, half gangster

John Travolta staying alive by inches is also a reference to the movie "Pulp Fiction" where John Travolta's character survives the shooting at the beginning of the movie by inches

Eminem isn't afraid to be controversial and speak out, and that's something really admirable about him. He's not afraid to bring out our issues through music.
The "Hello Darkness, my old friend" sample from Simon and Garfunkel is deep. I stand by this being Eminem’s masterpiece and my favourite song, the double, triple entendres, hidden meanings, chorus, use of sound of silence just makes this song so great to listen to.

As far as I can remember, Eminem is my first favorite artist. Lose Yourself era and I was around 9yrs old then. I don’t listen to him continuously but I have my moods just like this week when I entered that wormhole again and I discoverer your channel. I love this song and it’s the first time I watched the video and it makes me cry how deep it is. something i noticed only now, even though i watched the video a few times.
at 10:19
he opens the bag, and then there's a shot from inside the bag, and how its all dark and suddenly there's a bright light, that in my opinion symbolizes the shooter's feeling of being in the darkness and then finding a way out, and even if this way out is horrible, its the only one he sees, so he feels like he has to take it.
Never noticed that.
It could also be paying homage to Pulp Fiction and the bag in that that you only see light coming out.
This song and video gets me every time. It’s just heartbreaking on many levels. Thank you for your reaction to this. It was spot on.
Actually brotha Keyser Soze's introduction was him killing an entire town of people for gangsters killing his family . The reference makes much more sense that way too.
Ah man how could I forget that! Been so long since I’ve seen the movie but man, great connection. Definitely works that way as well 🙌
I dont think thats how it went.
@@emin87i It's all good. Brutality and evil was what I was aiming at too.
I think Soza is also a reference to the fact that he has just revealed the plot twist, as well. That movie was one of the first I remember to have such an insane plot twist. You think he's one person the entire movie and he turns out to be someone else just as you may think the guy in the hotel is Em the whole video, right up to the moment of the reveal. A few things (I know, I'm super late);
1.) Colt .45 is not a revolver, it normally refers to the M1911 from Colt which is a semi-automatic pistol.

People have died, and we didn’t do anything to stop it.”
Forget psychoanalyzing-fix the real problems with our gun laws.
Wrong, your gun control has never and will never stop violence. Theres no guns in prison dose any one in prison get murdered?
@@KnoxHill, bull it's a scam to remove the right of the people to keep and bare arms. 20,000 gun laws in America, doing the same thing and expecting a diffrent result is the definition of insanity.

@@jayd5081 Are you thinking of this perhaps?- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night_Fever
There shootings in No Gun Zones. Criminals have guns irregardless of laws. A good guy with a gun can Stop carnage
M Mac exactly, Chicago has crazy gun control laws and tons of shootings still happen there
M Mac People bring guns into no gun zones from places where you can get guns.
Best reaction , one love from An Em fan since the get go
OMG I have listened to this song a lot and it's the first time I heard those two words that Em muddled under his breathe "double entandra" thanks for pointing that out dude 😊
(minimum victimsfor a mass shooting)
That means 10.5K plus have died. Things won't change until the law does but people rather change women's rights
*This Whole Song Is A Double Entendre Nobody Does It Better Than Eminem* *This Whole Album Is Insane With The Wordplay* 💯🔥🔥
Bro these brake downs you do are crazy good you got me bro I subscribed after the first video now you have you’re notifications turned on to 🔥😈
7:52-8:01 is pure poetry. Listen to the ending ‘act’ on every word, referring to gun control act.
Easily best break down reaction TH-camr I’ve seen. Wow!
Nah, you are wrong. Staying Alive is a sequel movie of Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta.
It’s got nothing to do with Face Off.
Shout out to Knox. You have a unique perspective . Breaking down kaiser soze Oo so good.
I love how you break things down. The best I've seen on TH-cam, I just subscribed.
10:05pm.... that was the actual recorded start time of the shooting as well
Great job catching all of the bars and lyrics. No one catches the Sound of Silence reference in the hook. "Hello Darkness my old friend". Great channel for explaining bars. Keep it up.
The whole song is a double entendre damn! 🔥🔥
That's what I said! It's crazy! Em is a fkn genius!
notice how it also keeps switching between two very different beats. a slick modern trap-like beat and an old school sampled drum loop sounding like it's played off a vinyl. kind of a cue that you're listening to two different songs
That warning at the start of the video wasn't there when Eminem first released the song, after the vegas scheme near the beginning of the song i think anyone would catch on where this was going! Very clever the fact he turned this whole song into a double entendre
nice reaction mate :) react to more to EMs new album :) very dope album
Thanks man! Appreciate the support 🙌 Got any recommendations off the album you think I should check out?
@@KnoxHill sure i recommend eminem - Those Kinda Nights , eminem feat anderson paak lock it up , marsh, yah yah , never love again, stepdad, little engine, , i will , no regrets , farewell
Em did his research on the Shooter and shooting for this. The time he mentions is when he started firing.
Not even Shaq caught that " double entendre" that alone got my sub.
Appreciate you 💯
Shaq ain’t know as the best in breaking down. Scriptwork is.

Cabasa Tribe that dude is great too
@@jaysjourney7351 ✌️😊
@@hastytkd5768 I know its all BS. Theres an agenda behind everything. Im just trying to look at it from a different angle to see what the motivation was for eminem to put this song together.
@@freedomclean3127 Truth is you can love guns and going to range and shooting them but you really do not want to be shot from the back from up top by someone on a semi auto with a big ass scope. I mean you get rob or people trespassing you can at least see and shoot them. But those high powered rifle with scope I doubt anyone can defend against it until someone was hit. Even soldiers had a hard time all you can do is pray you are not the first target
As usual, this is the best breakdown on TH-cam
