Nice job! I'd move the combustion air intake outside to burn cold air (cold air is more dense and ignites better) instead of burning up your warm air and sending it outside. That thing should easily keep you toasty in that little trailer!
Thanks for watching! Cold air intake is routed to the outside of the box. Air that’s blowing over the heating chamber is being recirculated so as not to pull a vacuum in the trailer.
Nice job on the box build! How did you seal around the holes where the hoses are going into the trailer? I'm basically doing the same thing to my trailer but not sure how to get hot air into the trailer. I'm using a Lavaner diesel heater. You mentioned you were from Northern Indiana I grew up in Peotone,Illinois not far from Indiana. We used to go to Crown Point quite often. I'm in North Carolina now but still visit family in Peotone.
Thanks for watching!! After cutting the holesI used metal tape to “frame in” my holes. Then ran the flexible duct in, then used silicone in a circle around each hole, as well as silicone around the square heater box before putting it against the trailer. Then of course more silicone after the box was in place. Been through a bunch of storms and a power washing and so far so good!!
That’s the main reason I was hesitant, but it barely has a diesel smell at the exhaust and certainly no smell in the cab. The reason I didn’t go propane was cost of the initial equipment and the fact diesel heats better with less fuel than propane. I was a skeptic once too!

I love it. Great job! Thanks!
Thanks Keith!!!
Do you have a link for the air intake cover?
See the fuel pump was installed in the vertical plane. With my space limitation, can I install the pump in the horizontal plane?

Nice compact install, like n sub.
Thanks for the sub!
Looks great!
Thanks Susan!!
How did that work out long term in the weather?
I clear coated the paint job when it was done. Also cover it when not in use. It still looks and works great!
@@bwiesman thanks! Nice way to save space.
Nicely done! I can't stop staring at your petcock, that thing is amazing
Will keep us warm if we ever get out for that snow fun we planned on!
I'm ready!
What gauge wire does the controller need? Like to extendrun it 10 to 15 feet to inside the vehicle.
I run 12 gauge. Thanks for watching!
@@bwiesman 12 guage for the three wire controller, seems excessive.
@@raczyk it is, but you asked my opinion and I always do overkill to error on side of caution.
Curious. Are you serious about camping for only 3 days at a time? What can you see and explore in 3 days?
Yeah. I haul a side by side. I can ride about 165 miles in 3 days of off road trails, is that “enough” for you? It is for me lol.
I think you're build is great, buy why the funk would you want diesel. That sh!t stinks. Why not a vented propane heater?
Cheers
