    Viewed your tutorial and fixed the issues with the second receiver coding. I could not code the second receiver but once l put the prong on the opposite side of both receivers it worked. So thank you for your tips , you gave me better advice than the place where my garage door has been serviced and saved me $$$.

    We bought remotes on amazon after confirming we had a 315MHZ and this video worked great. We didn’t have remotes so we watched the other video on how to program the first one. The lights were a bit different on our but it still got it done. Thank you.

    Your video is very clear. My new remote, however, does not blink when I press when connected to my existing remote. It’s a solid red light…and does not program. Any suggestions?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can be frustrating sometimes when an older remote doesn't want to transfer the code with a newer remote. There are 3 holes on both sides of the remotes for the 3-prong programming connector so I would suggest trying the holes on the opposite sides of the remotes. Sometimes one side may have better contact with the connector than the other.
      Also make sure that both remotes are the same 315MHz frequency (the frequency is printed on the back of the remote).
      I'm also assuming that the new remote you are trying to program is a Marantec branded remote and not a cheap knockoff from Amazon (those don't always work like they should).

    I have a question. Are you able to program both the top and bottom button to control the same garage door? When I am going to use the garage door remote I tend to just randomly click one of the buttons. That doesn’t seem to work here.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes and no.
      If you only have one remote then the answer is no, it's not possible.
      If you happen to have 2 remotes then it is possible. You would connect the two remotes and then transfer the code from the top button of Remote 1 to the top button on Remote 2. After you do that, you could then transfer the code from the top button on Remote 1 to the bottom button on Remote 2 and then transfer the code from the top button on Remote 2 to the bottom button on Remote 1.
      Sounds confusing but in the end you would have all 4 buttons (2 on each remote) programmed to the same operator.

    Is there no way to use universal genie remotes with my marentec garage door opener? Whenever I get one working, the others don’t work.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Will-if7wp I'm assuming that you are referring to the Genie 4-button Universal Remote. While it's true that it is compatible with Marantec operators what they don't tell you is that you can only program one of the Genie remotes into the operator.
      Marantec uses a digital fixed code. Other companies use a fixed code also but their fixed code is programmed using DIP switches where Marantec uses a 3-prong programming connector to duplicate the code in other Marantec remotes. The Genie remote does not have that capability to use a 3-prong connector so that's why you can only program one of those Genie remotes into the operator. - Brian

    How do I get all four of these four-button remotes working again?
    I have the 4-button remote to work all four-door openers. One door opener will not work with but one remote at a time now after my wife's remote quit working her door. I had replaced the battery first(nothing) so I opened her garage openers control hood to reprogram her remote (wallah)👏. Now no other remote works with her door.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Once you program a button on one of the remotes, you'll need to transfer the code of that one button to the other remotes using the 3-prong programming connector. Just follow the instructions in the video to transfer the code to as many different remotes as you want. - Brian

    is there a way to add a remote to a marantec 252 without removing all the existing ones (without the need to connect it to an already working one)?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never heard of a Marantec 252. That being said, the Marantec operators hold the code of ONE remote. All additional remotes need to be programmed by copying the code of the programmed remote using the 3-prong programming connector. If you don't have any existing remotes then you can program a new remote directly into the operator without erasing any previous remotes that may have been stored in the operator. If this is done then the operator will automatically erase the previously stored remote code and store the new remote code in the operator.

      It doesn't matter which side of the remote you use. If one side of the remote doesn't work very well then you can always use the other side of the remote. - Brian

    • @Garagedoorzone

      No. If you want to program more than one remote to your Marantec operator then you'll need the 3-prong programming connector in order to transfer the code from a working remote to an additional remote.

    Hello! Thanks for the great video. I have programmed 2 controllers, but the 3rd I tried, start blinking as soon as i insert the three pins connector (not connected to the master remote). Do you know a way to reset the controller? Thanks

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's odd. You may want to open the remote & then put it back together. Perhaps the circuit board inside the remote is misaligned.
      If you want to clear the code on an existing remote then check out our other video here: th-cam.com/video/wwochJ7C0XQ/w-d-xo.html

    What does the bottom button do? And on the wall unit, how does the lock button work

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can program the bottom button to a 2nd Marantec operator. So if you have a two car garage with two Marantec operators then you can use one remote to control both operators.
      As far as the Lock button on the wall control station - when engaged it locks out the remotes. Most people don't use it. In theory you would engage the Lock button when you went on vacation (that's why it's also known as a vacation switch) but we would recommend that you unplug the operator when you go on vacation. This way you are certain no one will have access by using the operator and it could save your operator from expensive repair costs if there happened to be lightning strike near the garage or a power surge while you were away. We've seen many operators damaged by lightning & power surges (that's why we also recommend putting a surge protector plug on your operator).

    I want to set up a second Marantec garage remote opener, but the first remote is broken. Is there a way to fix this?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, if the first remote is broken (and it's no longer used) then you can program a new 2nd remote directly into the operator. How you do that will depend on which model of Marantec operator you have. The instructions for the particular models can be found in their operator manuals. We do have one video available that shows how to program a remote into the M4500 or M4700 model operators. If you have one of those models then watch that video here: th-cam.com/video/AZrLdAzzmwU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=l9zAbY8LTlzKGIfR

      No, the Chamberlain "universal" remotes aren't really universal. They can cover a number of different makes but Marantec is not one of them.

    How can I program my vehicle opener buttons to the garage door opener?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on how old your operator is. The older (20+ yrs) Marantec operators had remotes/receivers that worked with different radio frequencies. If you operator has the 433MHz or 40MHz frequency then it wouldn't be compatible with a vehicle that has Homelink. But if your operator uses the 315MHz frequency it is possible. All the Marantec operators from the past 15-20 years used the 315MHz frequency remotes & receivers.
      If your vehicles are equipped with Homelink then you can try the following programming method:
      For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink® buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash after 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.)
      Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface (usually located on your visor, overhead console, or mirror), keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
      Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold both the desired HomeLink button and hand held transmitter button. DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly. When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. (The rapid flashing indicates successful training.)

    How I change the battery

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's a slot on the bottom of the remote. Take a dime or penny and stick it in that slot. Turn the coin like turning a key. The two halves of the remote will come apart allowing you access to the battery inside the remote.
