    Thanks. My keypad stopped working after several years because the batteries died. After replacing the batteries, I tried multiple times to reprogram without success. Then I watched your video, which was very clear, and I was able to program the Marantec keyless entry keypad. I think removing the metal clip is what was the difference. Thanks again for your video!

    Appreciate the video! Mine worked but it took awhile. I would hit the 3, wait for the lights, then pressed the remote and moved it around, but the Marantec always turned off at that point as it wasn't receiving a strong enough signal apparently. After about 5 tries, I realized this and simply propped the remote open a bit to allow a stronger signal. Luckily, this worked first time (or 6th for the pessimists out there)!

    Thank you for your video. I followed your instructions to reprogram the keypad, but it didn’t work at first. After rewatching your video a couple of times, I noticed you mentioned using the top button of remote to reprogram it. I realized I had been using the lower button, which is why it didn’t work. Then, I watched another one of your videos explaining how the remote works, and now I understand the difference between the two buttons. Thanks!

    I was thinking my remote battery needed replacing so I opened the remote to see a small chip board about 1.3 inches square with the battery being on the back side of the board. I used the chip board with out the remote cover and it worked as advertised. I wouldn’t have thought that the remote cover would have been a problem, but it was for programming. Good little remote pad, works well.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good tip. That is why we always recommend replacing the battery in the remote and removing the visor clip from the remote. There has to be a strong signal from the remote to the keypad and it doesn't take much to interfere with the programming.

    Our remote and keypad were working fine these past 3 months: we bought the house at the end of 2022. Came back from a morning walk and the keypad would not open the garage door. I followed your video and replaced the 2 batteries with known good. The keypad lights only come on with the light button. Holding in #3 does not flash the programming lights and the programming lights will light up during my random button pressing. Randomly pushing buttons will light up all buttons for a few second. I take this to mean my batteries are good but there is some other issue. Do the magnets on the slider have any part of the logic? I think my keypad is duff.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to say what might be wrong. The magnets on the lid have nothing to do with the programming or memory of the keypad. It's possible the keypad has failed and needs replaced. Before you do that though you might want to try clearing the memory of the keypad and reprogramming it. When you do, try programming a different PIN number into the keypad.
      If you're not aware of how to erase the memory of the keypad here are the instructions:
      1. Remove both of the batteries
      2. Press & HOLD the Enter button on the keypad. Keep holding the Enter button until the process is over.
      3. While holding the Enter button insert the batteries.
      4. Once the batteries are installed release the Enter button. The lights on the keypad should flash & go out indicating that the keypad memory has been cleared.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ann
      You can program the keypad into the operator without using a remote ONLY if you plan on using the keypad to open & close the door and don't plan on using a remote or the buttons in your vehicle. Follow the instructions in the operator manual for programming a remote into the operator and when it gets to the part in the instructions where you have to press the remote button enter your 4 digit PIN number and then the Enter button instead. If you ever get a remote then you'll need to reprogram the keypad. You can email us if you have any other questions: TH-cam@GarageDoorZone.com

      I have the opening button on my garage wall that I use to open it and a keypad outside the garage. If I understand you correctly I can still use the garage opener button on my wall and then I could use my numeric keypad but not an additional remote that would clip into my car.

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Diego_SanCA If you program the keypad directly into the opener then you can use it and the wall station. If you do happen to get a remote then you would program the remote into the opener and then use that remote to program the keypad (like the instructions shown in the video).

    Very helpful video that visually walked through what the printed instructions said. I replaced the battery in the remote and the keypad, followed the steps, but the code never saved. After typing in the 4-digit code and pressing never, nothing happened. After 5 seconds, the 2 LED lights in the middle starting blinking every 2 seconds. Any idea what that means?

    • @Garagedoorzone
      @Garagedoorzone  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do the two center LED lights just start blinking on their own? If so, that's strange. Normally if you enter a 4 digit PIN number that has not been programmed into the keypad & press Enter then those 2 center lights will blink rapidly for a couple of seconds and go out. But if you put in a PIN number that has been programmed into the keypad & press Enter then those 2 center lights will blink slowly for about 30 seconds.

      Thanks for watching. Is the remote you purchased a Marantec brand remote? On the back of the remote you should see Model: Digital 382 2-Channel printed on it. There are knock-off remotes from China being sold on Amazon that aren't real Marantec remotes. We've heard from people who have bought these knock-off remotes and then had problems either programming them to the operator or using them to program a Marantec keypad.

      Make sure you have a new battery in the remote and the visor clip is removed. The keypad needs to receive a strong signal from the remote & it sounds like it's not doing that. Also, use the flat backside of the remote when moving it around in front of the keypad instead of the nose or tip of the remote and you may project a stronger signal. If none of that works then I'd recommend that you open the remote. Use a dime to separate the two halves of the remote and open it. Inside you'll see two small buttons on the green logic control board. Choose the button you wish to use to program and use the green logic control board without the remote case to program the keypad. This will give you the strongest signal to program the keypad. Good luck. - Brian

      Did the keypad pick up the code from the remote before you entered your PIN during programming? If you haven't done so we suggest putting a brand new battery in the remote before programming the keypad. Also remove the visor clip from the remote. If that doesn't work then open the remote. Inside you'll see the green circuit board. On the circuit board is the small remote button. Use that button (with the case of remote off) during the programming. Sometimes the case of the remote itself can cause interference.

    • @Garagedoorzone

      Is your remote 315MHz frequency? It's printed on the back of the remote and needs to be 315MHz to be compatible with the M13-631 model keypad.
      If it is 315MHz frequency, did you put a new battery in the remote? The keypad needs a strong signal from the remote during the programming process.
      You may need to repeat the programming steps a few times until the keypad recognizes the remote.
      The garage door opening/closing is normal during the programming process. If you don't want that to happen you can move further away from the garage so it doesn't receive the signal from the remote during the programming process.

      Even though the remote works the operator without issue doesn't mean that the signal is strong enough for programming the keypad. Installing a fresh battery in the remote is the #1 tip we can give. The keypad needs to have a strong signal coming from the remote during the programming process. We would also recommend that you remove the metal visor clip from the back of the remote. This helps eliminate the possibility of the visor clip causing any interference.

      We recommend that you first clear out all of the codes from the keypad. You can do that by following the instructions in the video at the 6:03 mark here: th-cam.com/video/Gu4wnfu9gRU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bObbQl-MkapL18iM&t=363
      Then go back to the 3:24 mark in the video and program the PIN code you want into the keypad. You'll find those instructions here: th-cam.com/video/Gu4wnfu9gRU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cFADSkXRhj7LMxXU&t=204
      We hope this helps. - Brian

      The video is longer than we anticipated but we wanted to cover and answer some of the most popular questions we receive. We did put chapters in the video for each topic we cover so you can skip ahead to the particular one you are interested in.

      If you've confirmed that you have a 315MHz frequency remote & tried a new battery in the remote and you're still having trouble then you may want to take your remote & keypad to your local Marantec dealer and see if they can program the keypad for you. You could also call a technician to come to your home & program the keypad.

    no pro here... bought a house with a marantec opener and so far and by a long, long way, the worst home product ever. I cannot wait to uninstall this opener.

    DIck take this video down. You forgot to mention that you have to hold the handheld remote at the number 3 and slowly move down toward the number 9 or you'll never see the lights flash. I tried your way for a half hour before another video mentioned that important point.
