You can race dyno numbers all day long, but the true test is running these cars head to head in a race.

True. Although there are alot of variables in cars with similar setups. Looks like the car will be good fun to drive. Enjoy it.

I'm going to address the elephant in the room here and point out the shift characteristics of the Palm beach tune vs the Lund tune.
A tune that shifts too aggressively will be slower because of wheel slippage and possibly dangerous because the harsh shifts can upset the chassis and put the car into the wall.
The Palm beach tune appears to just completely disable torque management while the Lund tune retains some torque management.
For this reason I would consider the Lund tune to be a safer and faster tune due to its ability to put the power to the ground in a more controlled manner (smooth is fast, fast is smooth).
Aside from that a peak hp difference around 15hp is fairly negligible and I would consider the engine output of the two to be basically on par.

Power on a na setup isn't going to vary a whole lot from day to day. Iat temps dont effect power like they would on boosted. Will it be a different number day to day? Yes. Will it be night and day from one day to the next? No.

Summer numbers will always be lower. Like the dyno operator stated when he said, @ 5:30 "Zander had a weather advantage". If Zander ran his car right after, he WOULD NOT have hit his winter /spring numbers without additional mods. They both will also run .2 - .4 sec slower at the same track. Heat soak affects NA cars also.

Not sure how much good weather would’ve amounted to but they are good numbers. The car is knocking on 500hp, which he should be able to crack with a revision and some tweaking. Not to mention the sound. I wish I had that car lol.

    Great video. Some personal considerations.
    Jeremy has catvack and headers.
On my dyno test(I've shared with you the graph) my catback Borla added 12-14whp on 91oct.
In this case jeremy has also headers. I have no numner fornheaders but im expecting some gain there too.
    2. So Jeremy's numbers are btw 12 to 25 higher than oem by default.
Just to keep it in mind.
Jeremy was mentioning 427 last time he dyno her. 427 with what?
    Thanks both of you!

    • @jeremywinslow7345
      @jeremywinslow7345 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That was a 93 tune jlt and my catback on a very stingy dyno. Same day it put a stock 18 auto at 400 flat. He also ran the cars in 6th gear not 7th.

    • @italian_stang
      @italian_stang 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@jeremywinslow7345 agreed. You definetely right. I would expect more power. In 5th gear my car was at 408 (i didn't known what 1:1 gear at that time)
      Then
I dyno my car in a dynojet (approved for dyno NASA time trials)
      428whp with catback on 91
      439 with PBD on 91
452 with PBD on 96 oct.
I can't put a CAI (I will..) Because i finished the "points" for my class this year.
I'm curious to see what a CAI can put on.
Another 2 considerations. I have lighter rotors during the test (2lbs each) and friction reducer (MOTORKOTE) in the engine and diff. I think this also influence.

having just about the same setup aside from the steeda closed airbox intake instead of open element... I can tell you that lund does not recommend running the e85 r tune unless you are at least 70 plus percent ethanol.. The tune is more aggressive than the flex tune for sure but it does not run properly if you don't have near true e85 in the tank. Get some good tested e85 on both cars and lets see what the tunes can do apples to apples with the best chance ie with good fuel. From what I understand, the flex fuel tune lets the car add timing as it sees fit whereas the r tune they automatically add the spark down low and you can see on the graph the green curve comes up faster than the flex one...but being this way, you should have proper e85 when doing this. Keep the videos coming.

@@Zander13Productions I like it a lot, all the guys at Lund arent a fan of the open air type intakes, when driving the iats are like 5 to 7 above ambient. It makes sense why the open element would be better for dyno with hood up, however, when you are driving the car the hood is down and the absolute coldest air you can get is from the factory snorkel placement... so by that logic I decided to go with that one instead of an open type.

    • @mattg2596

2% difference on runs from one day to another is prob statistically insignificant. interesting that even YDBT said that peak to peak a flex tune and e85r tune would be the same but the dedicated race tunne shoves timing in sooner, just like this shows us. would be cool to see side by side logs of both tunes to get see if there are really any differences in engine tuning strategies, i'm willing to bet theyre similar when it comes to fueling and spark timing and maybe play with cam timing a littler different. keep the competition going between these company's, it keeps them pushing to be better

To me it’s a big issue I try to inform everybody. I don’t hate mustangs I hate the gen3 problems. Love the power of the 18-19 mustangs won’t lie an say they are slow or junk. I seen many guys having good luck with theme I also seen how some guys get around warranty’s to each their own. Myself I will sit back an enjoy my 14 for now. When the prices drop on these gen 3s maybe my s197 will be done an I will pick up a used gen3. As of now I don’t think the people that own the 18-19s really know what they are in for. I know you are getting screwed An I hope your motor holds out for you. But there will be many failures coming soon if you check TH-cam an ask guys what happen to the 18s most on TH-cam have traded them 😂. I went back about a month ago an asked guys that had the tick on TH-cam many of them traded an some are still going with 20k plus miles. I never will say piston slap will take a motor soon as you hear it. The car can go many miles an years but it’s ruining your motors prematurely and you know that already.

@@underfedcoyote5.022 yes I love the ambition and honesty would give Ford a complete pass pushing the limits with 12 to 1 compression dual injection more head flow and rpm....I would have ZERO animosity had they just simply taken each on a case by case basis and performed diagnostics instead of blanket denying with the 7718 vibranium shield of shit...I dont fault any company or individual for reaching to far and failing but to off load their bad decision making on the customer and blanket denying till you prove in court or are forced to deceptive practices to protect yourself was horrific. Hell even the wording of 7718 literally says the motor may sound like a POS Cummings diesel after first oil change ...admitting the y are selling you a car whose operating characteristics at time of sale may drastically change after first oil change ? It baffles me how that ADMISSION of guilt is twist to nothing to see here folks.
I simply think they made a mistake they carried over their plasma bores from the Voodoo yet didnt carry over the Forged pistons to match the thermal expansion characteristics of the new plasma bore, simple....bet your ass Coyote Car guys Forged piston but stock plasma bore doesnt knock tick and 2k rattle...they also needed the skirt to wall perfect if they were gonna cheap out on cast pistons so bring over hand assembly or tighter go no go or parts binning...
The other thing is the CAFE oil pressure bypass solenoid that engaged below 2600rpm I think this is hurting these engines as well before I went supercharged on 5w50 I've logged mine as low as 8psi hot idle with 600miles on it!!!! Touch accelerator when the bypass closes around 2600-3k shoots to 60-70 and logged runs as high as 90psi at shift....
There may be a rod side clearance issue as well.....
I think the community seeks what Mike740 went thru and how knocking for months turned away ended up at a dealer that agreed to take a look at oil consumption pulled pan and found bad bearings. And he had been turned away and made fun of for months by dealers and the net.....
Coyote car guy will show us if its is new new plasma bores or the exclusion of their matching forged pistons we will get our answers in time.
There is no resell on this junk even rival dealers trying to use conquest programs to yet you in a car KNOW about 7718 and the gen3 its killed prices I bet you can get more for a 17....so I financed mine locally and I'm pushing chips all in ordering stage 2 tomorrow when it pops If my knees are fixed by then ill just order a bare plasma block for $837 and pop total seal rings, a forged piston and 4340 rods with good bolts in it with oil pump gear upgrade and have that put in....
I love my car absolutely love it and appreciate Ford making something big enough to accommodate this ass...giving me a choice to a scat...but 7718 is bullshit let the master techs and service managers decide on a case by case basis if your tick is mild or onerous...I've heard everything from none to mild to 35ft away it's all denied under 7718......

Why are you comparing dyno pulls of 2 different cars on different days? This comparison doesn’t show much about what Tuner is better at all. I would have suggested that you throw the Palm beach Tuned car on the dyno on that same day so weather wouldn’t affect the outcome. Clearly a car on a cooler day puts down more power. This comparison was bias. At least line them both up.

Zander13 you literally said at the end of the video “That’s it, Palm Beach still wins” essentially saying that you compared your past 496 RWHP pull that occurred 3 months earlier to his pulls that happened the day this video was posted. Don’t act like you were just comparing the 2 pulls that he did on the dyno with the 2 different tunes. You clearly snuck in at the end that your Palm Beach tuned car put down more numbers on a different day which is completely disingenuous.
