    Thank You For Watching!
This song was a Community request by one of y'all so I hope that it's well enjoyed. I'll let you check the description for a brief history of the original, this video (and the next two) are set up in a means to showcase a bit of the "Second Civil War" timeline, hopefully helping frame some of the other songs like the "Which Side Are You On" Video did. Unfortunately, TH-cam has significantly changed their advertising guidelines and so while the channel may be monetized, many videos now cannot be (basically anything in the War or Songs of the Second Civil War playlists). Because of this, I'm even more reliant on my Patreon supporters who I am excited to mention have grown in number! I'm very grateful for everyone supporting the channel and especially those folks! If you want to support me as well please check out Patreon:

IDK if you're still adding to the playlist, but can I make a request of some Socialist songs you add to the list
there are plenty of soviet civil war songs, some of which could be reworded to fit the 2nd ACW setting, two of them have a rare, English version already (Partisan's song, and anthem of the 3rd international), like Partisan's song, Tachanka (it fits the machinegun technical vehicle theme you have with Mother Anarchy), Red Army is the Strongest, Oh, Little Apple, Anthem of the 3rd international (there are many language versions, the US English one is under a different name, Rise Up), and United Front song
Also some US communist and labor union songs as well like, Should I Ever Be a Soldier (it could provide lore of army defections to anarchists, communists or rebels in general in opposition to a US military draft during the war), Hold the Fort (it could fit the recruitment theme for your March with Me video, like a newly recruited unit heading out to reinforce the frontlines), and Solidarity Forever

Hi, syndicalist trade unionist here. Just a quick question, how do you expect an anarchist society to work? With no state, how do people even exist? For starters, an ultraleftist society could work, but it would have to have a state. If what is depicted in the video ever happens in real life, I would want the ultraleft faction to be either trade unionist syndicalists or council communists (And I feel that they should also spread their control over a wide area, not just the cities and that they should have a strong military/ standing militia to beat back the far-right response to this). We would need foreign support to win the second civil war, most likely to come from China or Russia, maybe Europe if they have a leftist turn of their own. We would have to have more than 10 Million combined members of a centralized leftist front with many possible leftist subsidiaries, and we would need to arm ourselves to deal with the far-right militias and possibly the government. The best idea would be a centralized military command in one of the cities commanding the thousands of leftist militias spread throughout the country.
As for the aftermath, should we win the second civil war, we definitely can't have an anarchist society, and we can't have a highly centralized communist society either. We would need a decentralized society with democratically elected trade unions to command the government, and the government should play a secondary role in managing the economy.

@Ken Cook "All that you have said may be true, say some; Anarchy may be a perfect form of social life; but we have no desire to take a leap in the dark. Therefore, tell us how your society will be organized. Then follows a long string of questions, which would be very interesting if it were our business to study the problems that might arise in an emancipated society, but of which it is useless and absurd to imagine that we could now offer a definite solution. According to what method will children be taught? How will production and distribution be organized? Will there still be large cities, or will people spread equally over all the surface of the earth? Will all the inhabitants of Siberia winter at Nice? Will every one dine on partridges and drink champagne? Who will be the miners and sailors? Who will clear the drains? Will the sick be nursed at home or in hospitals? Who will arrange the railway time-table? What will happen if the engine-driver falls ill while the train is on its way? And so on, without end, as though we could prophesy all the knowledge and experience of the future time, or could, in the name of Anarchy, prescribe for the coming man what time he should go to bed, and on what days he should cut his nails!
Indeed if our readers expect from us an answer to these questions, or even to those among them really serious and important, which cannot be anything more than our own private opinion at this present hour, we must have succeeded badly in our endeavor to explain what Anarchy is."-Malatesta, Anarchy

I love this version! It reminds me a lot of the Spanish guitar in the Spanish language translation of Makhnovtschina I heard long before I heard the French or Russian language versions of the same, and before myself and several of our comrades wrote the English versions of this and several other Makhnovist songs.
I really appreciate the two verses you’ve added, as well. As you probably noticed, we changed Makhno’s original third verse, which was more of an exploration of his own anger and trauma, into a reference to Durruti’s quote. Anachronistic, of course, but our goal wasn’t historical fidelity so much as writing a war song for ourselves when confronting the far right.
I also appreciate your updating of the tachanka to a technical, which is of course the accurate contemporary parallel.
Would you be at all averse to us adopting or adapting the verses you added to our original English version?

Out of curiosity, what fandom or community is this wrapped up in? We’ve seen this song out into a couple of fandom/community vids imagining a future second civil war now, but most of us in our circle involved in translating Russian and other European anarchist songs to English just don’t have time to get really involved in gaming or fiction communities (for example, everyone in the Wooden Shoe Ramblers is a union worker heavily involved in our unions).

Mother Anarchy adores her Children! Mother anarchy will deal our cards! with a blanket of lead from my old technical. Anarchy sends her regards!

Mother Anarchy adores her Children! Mother anarchy will deal our cards! with a blanket of lead from my old technical. Anarchy sends her regards!
The old worlds grip is cold and lifeless, As the worms are eating it away. This new world we're building in our hearts is growing stronger by the day.
Mother Anarchy adores her Children! Mother anarchy will deal our cards! with a blanket of lead from my old technical. Anarchy sends her regards!
When all the fighting it is over And we've won as we know we're sure to do! the enemy will no longer challenge us, as we pursue a world we know to be true!
Mother Anarchy adores her Children! Mother anarchy will deal our cards! with a blanket of lead from my old technical. Anarchy sends her regards!
"No masters or kings in our new world" is our battle cry hear our call! Many will flock to our banner, as freedom is a beacon from all!

@@Gaswac It's more of a wartime song. It was originally written as a poem by the Ukrainian anarchist Nestor Makhno, who was a prominent leader in an anarchist militia during the Russian Civil War. Funnily enough, despite Makhno being a committed anarchist, the original poem doesn't explicitly reference anarchism, and was just about fighting the White Army. The direct references to anarchism were added in when the poem was later put to music and a chorus was written for it.

    • @emmettdoylemusic
      @emmettdoylemusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

When we wrote the English translation (as a group of people involved in a community self defense project some years ago), this was actually a point of contention! Our friend Marc really wanted to keep it more faithful to Makhno’s original “Mother Anarchy will not sell out/is not for sale”, and maybe make a rhyme that lionized more of the care work and reproductive labor that we wanted people to value. But, we went with “deal the cards” to rhyme with “anarchy sends her regards”, because to the group of us singing this at the bar after dangerous actions, that was the mother anarchy we wanted to sing to- a mother who brought us through the fight, who laid down covering fire for us, but who ultimately would deal us the hand she would, and we would have to play it as best we could.
