What can they top Infinity War with? If this storyline takes place after the events of Infinity War, it would be a massive hit.
Civil War is pretty much satisfying. The whole storyline and tie-ins are equally interesting. The tie-ins here a must-read. I love the Young Avengers & Runaways, Frontline, Choosing Sides, Wolverine and Thunderbolts. I love the stories of Penance (once Speedball), Hulkling & Wiccan and even Deadpool & Cable fooling around the conflict.
@@stevenkollin4409 That comment did not age well. They showed with their Thanos-Plotline spread out over multiple movies how you can actually do it... if only they had done that for this movie....
I actually shed a tear hearing this story. All of the superheros we love and look up to, they are battling and killing each other. It's horrible because this can actually be true in our real world and I hope we never come to that catastrophic realization
Captain America was never in prison at the end of civil war, he was killed by Crossbones on the steps of a court house when he was going to face a trial
No that is the story Death of Captain America. At the end of Civil War he was being hauled off. Two different stories, Death of Captain America is the follow up to this
To think that a big part of this plot could have been avoided if the heroes were not forced to reveal their identities in public... Honestly, wasn't it just enough to register into shield without also having their identities exposed?
***** The Problem with that is, the Government is always being hacked and had their secrets leaked, which is why having regular heroes registering would also mean signing their own death certificate if or when they cross paths with villains that hold a grudge, the SHRA also alludes that the Registered heroes will be used as Government Resources, which means some would play bodyguard to a politician, while others would be used to wage wars with other nations to protect the government's interests. In a separate issue, Uatu showed both Tony two other possible outcomes of the SHRA, one is which the Heroes are strictly controlled by the government and used as "Peacekeeping Weapons of Mass Destruction", while the other had the SHRA used in a different way, with only Captain America having the knowledge of each Heroes' identity and establishing a training facility for up-and-coming would-be-heroes not unlike Avenger's Academy.
The public’s argument was that the heroes could be anybody and that they needed to be held responsible, much like how a public official would. If just the government/SHIELD knew their identities, they’d still be upset and wouldn’t have solved the core issue
MCU Iron Man: Has a reasonable viewpoint, acts rationally (until he finds out Bucky killed his parents), tries to keep the team together. Comic Iron Man: HIRES A BUNCH OF VILLAINS AND TRIES TO KILL SPIDER-MAN

My favorite thing about captain America is that he isn’t just America’s poster boy like everyone thinks he has his own agendas and his own ideals and is willing to go against the government for the greater good
I personally think Captain America is right... I would never trust a gov. that can control super humans. And if it weren't for the heroes intervening in the first place more people would have died. I agree that there has to be consequences but giving gov. the control is going in the wrong direction. For every non-moral super-villian there will be a superhero that will oppose them. "the best hands are still there own." You don't get to label superhumans as all non-moral because a few people died..
Exactly, if they killed a few humans. We kill each other all the time. Attempting genocide to name one. Normal people are more of a threat to people than super humans. So what would happen if normal humans took control of the super humans? See capt Americas point? Done and done, no need to argue any further. I just completely murdered this argument. Cheers 🍻
I'm so glad that you were able to clarify as to how the world doesn't know Spidey is Peter anymore. I'm a little lost in the marvel arks and it's really nice to have channels like these to explain them with captivating narrations.
I know it took us forever, but I did it out of respect for Comics Explained since thats one of his largest video series, check it out at th-cam.com/users/fluidicbeats Also, for those of you who asked if I didnt like the story, my complaint about it is all the good stuff happens outside of it. Captain America wasnt shot until the Epilogue and Spider-man got his Suit before it, and Thor comes back after it...
Hey man I got a random question maybe you can answer. Its not anything to do with this video but its been bugging me for a while. Why has the hulk not been contacted by a red ring? Or has he?
I think the MCU will do a good job of the story with what they have. Getting Spiderman in is a huge boost not only to the story but for the rest of phase 3.
Honestly I think it's fine when it happens yeah we want a lot of heroes but the mcu just cant go hiring a bunch if people to play heroes that alot of pay checks plus civil war happens to build the plot for infinity war and endgame
I had these comics back in the day. I have to say, the way you describe it (plus the slide show) make it even more exciting than it was actually reading the comics lol
Thank you. I read comic books up until ~1977. Cap, Thor, and Avengers comic-books were my favorites. I was so glad that they started making these movies about my childhood heroes, but I quit reading them before all of this happened and I was really curious as to what caused all of this. I can't wait to see what other videos you have to offer. Thanks again, oh, and I did subscribe!

ItaliaeHellas It's like Captain America knew that and attacked Iron Man without thinking about his attacks, don't know how that would work but it did OR, ...nvm idk
I felt he should of included that in. Think that was such an important fact behind Iron Man's loss against Captain America, only because Cap is pretty hopeless without anyone's help.
A very underrated moment in Civil War: Tony Stark has arrested Daredevil and takes him to the Negative Zone, all the while babbling about his reasoning for siding with the government and trying to convince Daredevil that his actions were for the greater good, and asking for both forgiveness and asking Daredevil to talk, who's completely silent. One of the guards tells Tony that Daredevil has a Silver Dollar to give him, and when Tony is confused by this, Daredevil just says: "Guess that's 31 pieces of silver you've got now, huh? Sleep well, Judas"
It's funny, this comic is hailed by so many people as a magnificent story, but to me... I dunno, the whole thing seems kinda weak. Tony Stark essentially turning into Stalin, locking away all dissidents in a parallel-dimension-gulag, the entire world turning against the entire metahuman community over a single (Admitedly horrific) accident, all these superheroes seemingly having no qualms whatsoever in trying to kill eachother (then again, superheroes fighting eachother as much as fighting villains is par for the course in the Marvel Universe), the whole story leading into One More Day Spiderman story(And the less said about that atrocity, the better), and the pro-registration side being portrayed as being in the right, when metahuman registration is pretty much the exact thing that the X-men have been battling against since their inception!
It's true, everyone was grossly out of character and though the story had a good theme, it just kind of fell flat. It's not that good, but it is one of the most memorable.
Jay Williams Simple disagreement? This was their lives and the lives of their families and loved ones, that is no simple disagreement. The fact that Captain America, a man who's only motivation is his love for America and his willingness to do anything to be able to fight for it, goes against America, you should probably start looking at what you are doing.
Iron Man actually wants to talk before fighting for once, but NOOO Cap has to EMP him. If that never happened, the rest probably would've been avoided with a good negotiation.
Same for me I started with this and couldn't stop his voice was perfect his narration for each video was always better than the comic he knew how to make you immersed into the story I'll miss his videos so much, rest in peace ben
In all honesty, this entire situation could've been resolved in one session if everyone just put their egos aside and talked this out like adults. You'd think they'd do that too considering the circumstances that led up to the Super Hero Registration Act.
What did Tony planned?what did that lil thirsty hoe for thor plan and do when a hero's were fighting, does marvel know wht to do with shield, are they the bad guys or the annoying lil critters
TechoXero all this could have been avoided if 1) Maria hill didn’t try to have Cap shot BEFORE the bill passed 2) Mariam Sharp wasn’t a total bitch 3) Tony Stark wasn’t an asshole 4) Everyone just shut up, sit down, and talk
Grimdarkwolf Plus the enforcement of the law was totally wrong. When a real law passed people have time to comply to it and it passes by a certain date, not immediately afterwards. Starting a fight with the Cap’n before the law even passed was stupid af
have you read injustice? it is so good and it's fantastic. if you wanted a full out war with nearly EVERY DC character that is the comic book series to read.
I think I love this narration better than any other I've watched. Thanks for the emotion put forth and actually showing the comic text unlike another video I just finished watching. Also.. why did they simply write out the fact EVERYONE knew who Peter Parker really is. Or the fact Tony Stark is the reason behind the superhero registration act? That reminds me of "Who watches the Watchmen?" Also didn't a civilian assassinate Captain America on the way to prison? (Seen that in the video by ComicIsland)
when it comes to the comic (for the beginning anyways) I'm team iron man. he just wanted to talk and captain hit him with an emp than start beating him
Bruh Iron Man destroyed Cap so hard that Cap couldn't even land a single hit on him. That's why he had to get Vision to somehow disable Iron Man's suit from the back in that final fight so Cap could have a chance
They really didn't. The only thing similar is Cap vs Iron Man and the whole hero vs hero thing. They should've waited til they got more characters like the X-Men and fantastic 4 in the MCU and then make the movie because it's supposed to be this huge war between every hero and villain there is. They can probably still do it but just title it civil war instead of captain America civil war
I mean don't get me wrong it's a good movie but it doesn't feel Civil War level conflict considering they only fought one day and then it was over, but at the time they didn't have a lot to work with but they could've just waited instead of trying to use what they got
But if they make another Civil War Movie, There would be more Differences. Examples: In the Comic Spider-Man was the one to Reveal his Identity Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mysterio Revealed Spider-Man’s Secret Identity. The MCU Contracts for Actors and Actresses like Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlet Johansson, and maybe even Jeremy Renner will already Expire. And the last one for now being the Moment where Frank Castle saves Peter Parker, will they be able to use The Punisher in the Movie? I ask this because There had been some Controversy with the Character Earlier this Year.
@@thomaspanditfan2435 What I mean was that they could've made a actual big civil war event in the future after they've introduced more characters. They could've titled this something else.

nega-venom They just like to have an excuse to destroy famous buildings I guess lol Or maybe it's cause New York is a very big city with lots of different businesses and types of people that make it easy for heroes to blend in.
Douche Bag No idea, but I do remember that sentry is supposed to be godlike so they probs removed him because he is too op. Well I did not read it but that is what I think what happened :)
Honestly, this whole story was fucked. Iron Man was being unreasonable and wasn't necessarily understanding the lives behind the mask. But yet fucking Iron Man won, and Cap dies after this. Keep in mind because of this public identity shit this caused Aunt May to be SHOT cause of Spider Man's identity. Team Cap
Joseph Capellan Cap pretty much had that same talk with the commander hill, he doesn't agree with people giving up their identity. Like I said, Aunt May got shot because of Spider-Mans identity going public.
I like how the civilians here are crying over their city being destroyed when this is caused by them being selfish about the hero who litterally face death everyday not wanting to put everyone they know in danger. The ACT was basically on the same level as broadcasting every secret agent identities on the internet. It'll only make hero want to be hero alot less.
@@zyonthelickman I mean, I get the sentiment but remember that literally not long after this, Spiderman's grandmother was sniped and was going to die over this. You can understand why people who fight villains with powers that can blow up a building don't want any chance of their love ones being held hostage or murdered. Or them to be murdered in their sleep.
This video really got me into marvel comics and these characters and knowing that the voice and maker passed sucks. RIP Ben thanks for the Comicstorian videos and stories.
Quick question but why the hell did they need to publicly reveal their identities? I mean Spider-man made a good point in that all their loved ones were gonna be placed in danger once they unmask themselves (Though to be fair pretty much all major heroes already have a few villains that know their identity). Was there gonna be like a website or public document so that anyone thinking "Hey I want to know this guys secret identity" can just go find out? I mean you can't just publicly look up active government agents can you? Can you? Especially if their in a situation or mission where their identity could put lives at risk
They don't have to publicly reveal, just sign up with the government. Spiderman publicly revealed because Iron Man asked him to do it to prove a point. The problem here is that like Cap said, there are a bunch of crazy smart super villains that can easily hacking into government files and find the entire list of identifies
I'm not a reader, but my friend told me civil war would be a good place to hop in. MY GOD it was even more emotional and carried a lot more weight than the MCU's Civil War. It had me crying and laughing OUT LOUD.

What can they top Infinity War with? If this storyline takes place after the events of Infinity War, it would be a massive hit.
+Ghoul Shade They'll just do Civil War 2 in a few years when they have more characters. Its already happening in the comics
Yes except for spider-man sadly after he took off his mask to the public
It's a shame the cinematic version of Civil War won't come close to being as big as the comic version.
It's hard to put that many superheroes and flesh them all out in movies
+Phil Adams They're probably gonna take out the kids dying because it's too dark. A lot of things as well most likely
There's way too much stuff. especially build ups

To think that a big part of this plot could have been avoided if the heroes were not forced to reveal their identities in public... Honestly, wasn't it just enough to register into shield without also having their identities exposed?
That's probably what they'll do in the film
***** But 1 of the conditions that the movement required, was to reveal the identities of the heroes to the citizens in public...
Dude you are so good at narrating this stuff, I feel like im watching an actual movie

Cheers 🍻

Hey man I got a random question maybe you can answer. Its not anything to do with this video but its been bugging me for a while. Why has the hulk not been contacted by a red ring? Or has he?
Nicholas Perry you know(IF you Arent kidding) that red lanterns IF you are talking about them is from DC Comics while the hulk is from Marvel Comics.
because the red rings exist in the dc universe not the marvel universe.

For the final battle... how did Cap beat Iron man to the ground when Iron man was programmed to know Cap's every move?
ItaliaeHellas It's like Captain America knew that and attacked Iron Man without thinking about his attacks, don't know how that would work but it did OR, ...nvm idk
Lol.
ItaliaeHellas well in the civil war comics, vision disabled iron man's suit in the final battle that's why cap had the edge on tony
I felt he should of included that in. Think that was such an important fact behind Iron Man's loss against Captain America, only because Cap is pretty hopeless without anyone's help.
ItaliaeHellas yeah that's one detail that he forgot to mention here, and to be honest some info on this video is wrong.. great vid though
That wasn't Matt Murdock as Daredevil
@@rinaoxex5814it’s kinda hard for me tell if that was iron fists or matt
Watch Comics Explained's videos on Civil War (main issues and tie-ins), they will clear-up most of what you seem to not like about the story
It's true, everyone was grossly out of character and though the story had a good theme, it just kind of fell flat. It's not that good, but it is one of the most memorable.
Michael Welsh its dumb to me too bro, after years of fighting together all of a sudden because of a simple disagreement lets kill each other now lol
Jay Williams Well, no heroes had killed one another aside from Reed's RoboThor goin' out of control and impaling Goliath.
But, there would have been no compromise it would be, unmask yourself and make your families vulnerable to attack.
Samara Habyarimana yeah but Cap is a good negotiator and the rest of Iron Man's team would have listened at least. They could have found a compromise.
Samara Habyarimana doesn’t the world know caps identity
Kent Pham there's actually a what if story showing if he hadn't started the fight, shit would have worked out
"to talk" woud have been Tony and Maria Hill telling them "do it our way, or do it our way" talking would have been surrender
This was the video that got me into his channel rest in peace legend

Best storytelling I'd seen so far keep it up!
In all honesty, this entire situation could've been resolved in one session if everyone just put their egos aside and talked this out like adults. You'd think they'd do that too considering the circumstances that led up to the Super Hero Registration Act.
TechoXero isnt every war in human history started by egos instead of talking things out tho
didn't Tony ask Cap for a 5 minute talk but Cap just attacked Tony anyway
What did Tony planned?what did that lil thirsty hoe for thor plan and do when a hero's were fighting, does marvel know wht to do with shield, are they the bad guys or the annoying lil critters
TechoXero all this could have been avoided if
1) Maria hill didn’t try to have Cap shot BEFORE the bill passed
2) Mariam Sharp wasn’t a total bitch
3) Tony Stark wasn’t an asshole
4) Everyone just shut up, sit down, and talk
Grimdarkwolf Plus the enforcement of the law was totally wrong. When a real law passed people have time to comply to it and it passes by a certain date, not immediately afterwards. Starting a fight with the Cap’n before the law even passed was stupid af

Why is peter parker SO GOOD LOOKING IN COMICS BOY HE PERFECT
I think I love this narration better than any other I've watched. Thanks for the emotion put forth and actually showing the comic text unlike another video I just finished watching.
Also.. why did they simply write out the fact EVERYONE knew who Peter Parker really is. Or the fact Tony Stark is the reason behind the superhero registration act? That reminds me of "Who watches the Watchmen?"
Also didn't a civilian assassinate Captain America on the way to prison? (Seen that in the video by ComicIsland)
when it comes to the comic (for the beginning anyways) I'm team iron man. he just wanted to talk and captain hit him with an emp than start beating him
Bruh Iron Man destroyed Cap so hard that Cap couldn't even land a single hit on him. That's why he had to get Vision to somehow disable Iron Man's suit from the back in that final fight so Cap could have a chance
Bruh its kinda like that in the movie too
It’s dumb
@@twizzlerlemonpie3083 facts. Iron man was beating Cap and Buckys ass, and it was a 2v1 💀
Except Maria started the war by turning against Cap for refusing to support arresting heroes
So happy the MCU adapted this story so amazingly, at the perfect time in the MCU as well
They really didn't.
Examples:
In the Comic Spider-Man was the one to Reveal his Identity Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mysterio Revealed Spider-Man’s Secret Identity.
@@Tae200. it was like 2 years left for infinity war. When else were they supposed to do it? 2017 would have been way too close.

Cap was the unreasonable one.
Joseph Capellan How was Cap, the unreasonable one?
Prodigy Tony just wanted to talk. So what did Cap do? He emp'd Tony and sucker punch him. Which started the very first battle of the Civil War.
Joseph Capellan Cap pretty much had that same talk with the commander hill, he doesn't agree with people giving up their identity. Like I said, Aunt May got shot because of Spider-Mans identity going public.
Prodigy Yes, but Tony wasn't Maria Hill. He prepared to fight, but was looking to avoid it.

You can say that, but you can't deny the superheroes are just as selfish. They don't wanna be held accountable by exposing themselves.
