I wish women could be sued for fraud for doing that. Her mom tells her he’s not her dad but she had him on child support that whole time. Her mom knew. I don’t think they had dna testing back then so they probably couldn’t make women have to pay all that money back when there was no way the woman could have really known he wasn’t the dad. I think there needs to be a law where if a man is forced to pay child support for a child that isn't his, the women should be made to pay it back. Not fair for something like this to happen any more.

What is even more annoying is, after chastising and criticizing a man, when it turns out the mother was running wild and lied, the apologies are never enough. The Courts should apologize, the government should apologize, everyone who force a man to pay for a child not his own is...criminal actions! The frequency of false testimony forcing men to pay many thousands of dollars and go to prison if not paying up, is immense and a shame and should cease. NOW.

Genie Meadows what has changed in 37 years was not possible 5, 10 or 15 years ago? She makes the question numerous times and he never replies. If he had doubts he had the same doubts when she was 18, 20, 25 etc. What has changed is the he is older and want the emotional support of a daughter.
Also he was aware of the terrible childhood without father or mother she had as she would have told him at 16.

He probably wont get it back because the court made him the "father". Same thing happens with men who sign the birth certificate stating they are the father it makes them responsible for supporting the child. The only way he might get the money back is if the daughter goes to court with him and admits her mother was not raising her and was not using the money to support her.

Unfortunately he was ruled the father in court, 37 years ago. That made him the legal father. So he was responsible for that child support.
They connected when she was 16, 21 years ago, 1997. The Maury Show started in 1991, he could have gone through that then, instead of now.
She need to take that energy out on her mother for lying in court and listing that man as the father knowing that he wasn’t and what about all that child support that man paid over the years?! This makes me so mad 😠

Christine owes him a big apology. She went in on that man the entire episode. These kids need to stop being so angry towards these men when there are 3-4 other possible fathers. I think she just feels disgusted that at least one of the people involved couldn't get proof of paternity before she's nearly 40.
But as he said , Paternity cost $1,000 back then and he had nowhere near that sort of money. In this case he did his best. Thank goodness DNA testing is affordable now.

Once these naive guys go to court and sign the paperwork without doing a DNA test they have to pay even if it is found out later the child or children are not his. I don't think DNA test existed back in 1980...or 1992...
That's why he should have requested a DNA test no matter how much it cost at the time cause biological means nothing sometimes it's about who is the legal father and legally he was responsible for the child even if the child isn't biologically his. Which was even more wrong is once he paid it the mother took the whole thing and didn't even give it to her daughter which is who the money was ACTUALLY for, technically the daughter should take her mom to court for that money because that money was for her and all of her needs growing up and her mother didn't take care of her in the first place. Shows the system is messed up that they didn't try to find him when the daughter was a child and in foster care, the government had his name and he was legally responsible for her and was willing to take her even if he wasn't the bio dad.
That's why I'm for DNA testing to be done at birth! Men should not sign anything until it's established that they are indeed the father! Women can name anybody they want to and the court system just runs with it! This happened to my cousin and the woman admitted she always knew he wasn't the Dad. Why doesn't the court ever address the fact that these men have paid child support for children that turn out not to be theirs? It doesn't matter if they paid late, accrued balances, didn't show up for court, or whatever once they find out they aren't the father THEY SHOULD BE REIMBURSED! They don't know where these women have been but the women know who they laid with. And lie about it. There should be mandatory DNA testing at the hospital at birth. This would eliminate all the confusion and drama.
Rather than paying child support for so many years on a child that may not be mine, I would happily pay for a DNA test. Most men are too casual about this situation. Too laid back.

Her Mother told the courts, collected child support and named him as the Father, but tell the child that isn’t her Father. The Mother said the relationship was not that serious but, they lived together. The Mothers statement seemed so cold. I know it’s hard to difficult to decipher tone in a written statement. The Mother said leave it alone.... wow... this woman has a hole in her heart the size of her Father.

Well based on the daughter’s account of her reaction when she got the checks in the mail she never wanted her to know that she was receiving child support and she clearly said “those are not for you”. It’s sad that she had so much hatred for this man when her mother is to be blamed in all of this. She had no right to hate the man and it seems as though her mother got a free pass. But then this is one of the problems with the law. If a man doesn’t pay child support he gets in trouble and has to pay arrears, yet a woman who has lied and has collected it fraudulently is not liable. No one has anything to say about her dirty act.

DNA test came out several years after she was born, so she was still a child but he said it cost 1,000 back then and he didn't have that kind of money. There's even the Maury Show that does DNA testing, she would've been around 12 years old and onward, still plenty of opportunity to get a DNA test done when she was still a child.

I love paternity court. I was blessed to be able to be raiser by both of my biological parents in a two parent household. I can't imagine the pain these people feel.

I'm having a hard time with her moms side of this story. The fact that her Mom wasnt there to testify of her story and when the girl was little she was put up for adoption without telling the father is very telling. Why wouldnt the mother call the father if she was in such dire straights and she was gonna put her up for adoption? Its so sad and the girls mother was so messed up that shed rather loose her daughter then hand over rights to the father. Just glad the girl could have some closure and stop being angry at the man for what seemed like was mistake after mistake. I pray for these people that they can move on and heal.
