Mookie’s August and Ohtani’s June are two of the best months we’ve seen by players in a long time. Betts is already a top-50 player ever, and it’s amazing what this guy is doing.

Mookie and Acuña both having historic nights, tons of offense, and great defense by both teams, and in the end, the Braves did JUST enough to pull out an incredible win.

The Braves are like watching the Cardinals of previous years. They have amazing talent, work hard and you can tell they have great chemistry with the fun the have in the dugout. Of course I’m going to hate when they play well and beat my Dodgers, but damn if I don’t respect them

What a game.
If Lance Lynn wasn't pitching this game would've been unpredictably different. Still, the Braves played great, and the Dodgers were just barely unable to make this game even more historical than it already was.
Mookie was fantastic as usual and kept pace with Acuna too. Both of them had an insane game. Dodgers need to win at least two of the next 3 to make this loss less painful. Not sure the rest of this series will manage to be as epic as this game was though.

Think about it . For the dodgers it was Lynn. For the braves it was every pitcher from the starter to the closer putting too many runners on. Dodgers almost climbed out of that hole but in the end it was too deep.
Yup. That's why these next 3 games will be huge. Dodgers need to split this series at least.

@@johnblze667 4 earned runs in 6 innings. He was putting a lot of runners on bases. He had 3 innings where nobody could do anything but eventually the lineup did get to him.

I remember I was at this game and when I saw this homer it felt like a playoff game I’ve never been to one but I imagined that is what it would sound like

Gg Dodgers. Both of theses teams are elite. In my opinion they are equals. Braves win 8 to 7. Yeah that score says a lot, that this is going to be some hard games the next three days for both teams.

The braves came into this season as a top 3 favorite in baseball with a loaded roster, the mom & pop dodgers were not ranked higher than 8 in any WS odd prediction at the start of the season.. sad

Next year mlb should push all mlb stadium fences 100 ft back and give the mvp to the guy who breaks the single season triple record .. that’s the equivalent of what people wanna give acuna the mvp for over SB in a year where multiple rule changes have made it easier to steal than ever
Should we take away Cy Young's win record because he pitched in a time where pitchers pitched much more often?
Should we take away Hank Aaron's RBI record since he played on a team that got on base around him, so he had an advantage over someone who didn't get to bat with runners on?
Should we wipe out all of the 2019 home run records?
I get what you're saying, but all records are like that. There's not much you can do about it, it's just a result of circumstances, the rules of the time, and the play style of the time. If you want to say Acuna's accomplishment is less valid because of it, then you would have to agree that all records are equally meaningless.
Also if these rule changes have made it so unremarkable to you, then why haven't 5 other players done it this season?
Or maybe if 4 years have passed since this rule changed happened and we’ve seen hey you know what the rule change didn’t impact SB as much as we thought so acuna doing this is still pretty impressive but that isn’t the case at all we’re in year 1 of it and all the numbers proves SB and SB% has jumped significantly around the league because of this rule. If it wasn’t for that acuna would realistically finish with like 45. But now we’re trying to hand this guy an award as big as mvp for SB 😂

Easier to steal than ever? Why do you think they made the bases bigger? Because the stolen base was dying due to how good pitchers and catchers have gotten and the velocities they're throwing with. They had to make the bases bigger. Lol Rickey was stealing 100+ bases. It's not easier than ever. 70 steals was a regular thing to see 50 years ago.

Dodgers now have Lynn as their game 3 starter because they’re didn’t take this year seriously, and it could be the death of them in the playoffs. They have been all about saving up for Ohtani and having another big run from 2024-2030. That being said it’s baseball and the best team (Braves) rarely win the WS. It’s only happened 4 times in the last 21 years, so anything is possible

Because the bases are bigger and the rules changed that a pitcher can only check the runner a couple times because of the pitch clock.
@@LARULES100 except the average amount of steals from the #1-10 leaders in sb has only increased by 5 from last year. and the distance between bases has only decreased by 3 inches
