The funniest part of this episode is when the squad arrives at the Club Flamingo and the animated sign outside is a guy clubbing a flamingo. One of the best sight gags ever.

@@tommiturmiola3682 It's because earlier in that episode, they paid a visit to a woman (the ex-con's ex-wife, IIRC) who's running a charity : distributing clothes to the needy. As they talk to her, she asks if she can take their coats, so they think she's being polite and say yes, but she's boxing them to give them away. As they exit her apartement, they're in their underwear. So later in the show, you understand that they had to buy an entire new set of clothes. One of the most subtle gags in the show.
I love Eddie gets pissed off about his past haunting him wearing a State Penn jacket like he's a jock 😂😂
It says "Penn. State" on the front and "State Pen" on his back.
That got me rolling😅

Remember, the reason their coats still have price tags is that they accidentally donated their old clothes to the lady in a previous scene and had to go buy new ones. 😂

I watched this show when it was first broadcast, I own it on DVD and watch it about once a year, and today was the first time I noticed the tassels on MiMi's dressing room door.
She must pick them up on the way out.

"Do you mind if I change?" So epically dumb but HILARIOUS! This show had a genius for "dumb" gags that were anything but! Oh, and "State Penn." Genius. And these eps are so fast-moving, they never become stale.

it kind of makes sense why this show flopped on TV when you remember you couldn't just rewind it in real time, the jokes are so dense you'd miss so many watching it live
Frank's trench coat has a price tag hanging off the right cuff.

I never even noticed it the first time I watched this! So funny!
You know why, don't you? In the previous scene, both Frank and Ed were talking to Eddie's ex wife. She was putting clothes in a box for donations. She asks both Frank and Ed for their coats and she puts them both in the box. There's a little bit containing Frank's narration and they show the ex wife putting clothes in the donation box, mostly dress shirts and pants. At the end of the scene, both Frank and Ed walk out of the apartment in their underwear because those were their clothes she was putting in the box, which explains why their coats have price tags on them at the beginning of this scene.
So funny. Absolute classics.

It's such a shame these kind of comedies aren't made anymore. The amount jokes per scene is ridiculous.

Very talented actors playing it straight in the greatest comedy show ever produced for TV, anything is posible when there's a great screenplay based on a brilliantly conceived idea. Too bad this was not appreciated as it should have been.
Every second of this is fantastic, but I’d never noticed before the guy wearing the Penn State letterman’s jacket and talking about how no one ever lets him forget he was in prison and why can’t a guy get a break 🤣

This video is high quality! I don't remember any shows being filmed in HD back in the 1980s.
It was shot on 35mm film. There is a bluray that was released in 2020.
@@steverobert1 Then 35mm is pretty good quality. It's a shame that so many shows from the 80s are uploaded probably from old VCRs and then compressed with some algorithm that loses so much definition.
The old film reels were amazing quality. It's the VHS and television recordings that destroyed most of the quality (and aspect ratio).
That's why we have some awesome bluray editions of classic movies.
Film has no resolution and no pixel density. They can scan and restore old films as high as 6k resolution as long is in good condition.

the ex-convict ex-wife worked with charity group. she kept putting donation clothes inside a box, including their coat while they asked her question. They leave her house with only shorts and undershirt. So they bought the new one. haha.
That joke about changing is great, but it's too subtle, it takes a minute to realize what happened.

The first time I watched it I didn’t even realize the there were two different women in the scene.
How come no one's talking about the girl asking about changing, and a different girl coming out. It wasn't change of clothes, the girl was changed.
