We kinda got stuck in cebu because we liked it so much. Weve been to something like 30 islands. I continue to watch all these videos because theres always room to grow and accurate information in the philippines is hard to come by. Even some things TH-camrs say may be to true TO THEM but if you walk to the same business they go to and find a different person, it could be the complete opposite of what the youtuber said. Happy for these podcasts and hope you guys continue to succeed. I need more forms of entertainment, keep them coming! 🎉
Hello John, another great interview brother . Hey Mike what’s happening brother? A shout out to Marco 🙌 I am back in the states, preparing for my move, full-time move to the Philippines in January. Looking forward to meeting all of you in person 🙌 We don’t have to agree on anything, to be kind to one another 🤗🙏🏽
Some channels are very negative, just bad things about Pilipinas and Pilipino,I won't say names, thank you everyone, you're two channels I like, good questions too.
Good show guys been here 9 months my expat friends are online I moved 30 minutes away from the cebu city rarely see an expat here and thats ok but I miss having good conversation so I get on here and just listen to one🤣
Its a sign of curiosity. Being intelligent is a side effect. 😅 I was told this my entire life, and my best response has always been to tell people I'm nosey. The best way I can explain this to people is that we are actively trying to get something out of life while others are just letting life move around them. Kids now call them NPCs.
@@just_another_bot0110 True. I grew up with a chance a privilege to have a cozy government job, but I wanted to Run for my money. I moved 1000 miles away from my family, no support for 20+ years. To not struggle is bad for you.
Nobody ever characterized Mike as intelligent. So, please don't confuse him with your intelligent wide-eyed dad the Marine. Mike is wide-eyed because he is usually clueless and uninformed and rarely has factual replies or pertinent suggestions. I no longer watch him because he is in the vloging game for the money, so don't get any false impressions of his motives.
Choose your own adventure books are great because it gives the reader the power to choose their path. Like you said that is what makes the Philippines so great. I get good I do from a number of channels, I personally met & made good friends with the Darrell Mike mentioned & saw his home. I scouted out a couple of places as well. But I also will balance good food & comforts. I lean a bit into the adventure so I may try the mountain province life. People can have all the convenience of living in Cebu. They can live on the beach in Iloilo. We are not only the reader of our own book, we are the author. I love the analogy.
Hello, everyone. I usually find Mike's comments and advice insightful, and perhaps there's a deeper phenomenon at play here regarding the influence of TH-camrs on rising prices. It's worth noting that we're currently experiencing a significant global increase in costs. While Mike may be observing this specifically in the context of retirement in the Philippines, the pattern is evident elsewhere: prices for certain goods have doubled within a year in both the U.S. and Europe. What strikes me is that this isn't an isolated issue. Complaints about rising prices echo worldwide, pointing to larger economic or social forces at work. From my perspective, however, the cost of living in the Philippines remains remarkably restrained when compared to Western countries. It's a contrast worth reflecting upon as we consider both local and global dynamics.
Thank you very much for the wonderful interview. While I am not in the Philippines, I would appreciate it if you could compare inflation in Demugutte with other Philippine towns and cities. It's possible this is simply nationwide inflation. Thanks.
A question for Mike, can you do video about Ipostel how does it work? Any company that you would recommend? Does SSA and the bank here in the US accept the Ipostal address?
When I started researching the Philippines for a potential retirement destination I was lot looking for a relationship, now I am married to a Filipina, I should have stuck to my original plan
Hi Fellows, great job with the channel. I am trying to find a way to study the exchange rate and inflation rate here in the Philippines. So far its sort of like giving a cat a bath. Every time I get things settled down , the cat goes wild again. Right now the dollar to pesos rate is falling and inflation has risen 2.5% just in November alone that the government admits to. If I find a way to get ahead of these things I will let you know. It would be a good topic for a video. ( Just my opinion ).
I am pretty sure that many of those men living in the Philippines are desperate on the sexual market and they are trying to find a wife in the Philippines. Yes I know that learning how to seduce is hard it took me 6 years to learn it, but to migrate to a different country to find a wife is a move that can make the guy who prefers shortcuts. Yes, there are probably some men who will go to the Philippines because of the culture or maybe better weather but those are the minority probably.
Mike called me a troll, but just because for calling him out on BS he was spreading on his live streams.. he also got pissed because I was answering people's questions faster than him.. I was only helping his viewers, but somehow I'm a troll??? He's wearing JAG clothing and looking down on others.. he won't last long here.
That part -> 6:50 👀 I've watched grown ass people just pick away at others for no reason, just to feel validated in the moment. They won't air out their childhood burdens but they are sure quick to act out their childhood burdens; post 50.
I get a kick out of all these guys that come to the Philippines, they are there for a few years, start up a youtube channel, and all of a sudden they are experts on living there. The worst are the ones that have been here for a long time? Can you explain that comment please. Yes I fall in that category. 😀
You hit the spoty on that comment. Mike and even Paul McGill (old Dog) have travelled the Philippines so very little, have had so much actual limited experience before they started YiuTube and gave out crap advice. Their motive is MONEY, pure and simple. Mike with his smaltzy b/s smile and aw-shucks demenor is B/S is not the sharpest knife in the draw,
I'm very grateful for guys like Mike and Paul. They provided me with much needed information to make my transition to the Philippines so much easier! Without them I would have very little idea of what to expect when I got to the Philippines the first time. It you're such an expert, where is your channel?
I made my first visit to the Philippines this year and I must say, it's a wonderful place to vacation and learn about the culture but it's not my idea of a place to retire, in fact, I think your insane to leave the comforts of U.S and relocate to a fractured infrastructure, especially when your elderly. Could I give up my family and friends, being a ticket holder to college and pro sports, tail gaiting parties with friends, best medical, food, Las Vegas, just to sit in a coffee shop on a daily, basis, not a chance in hell. What I can relate to is looking for a young beautiful wife in the Philippines but to live there, NOT A CHANCE IN HELL!!! I worked hard all my life and planned my life at a very young age, and I would never give it up to go back in a time tunnel and live a more primitive way of life with all the struggles.
Most of what you said it depends on ones hobbies & preferences, but I would disagree with living a more primitive life. As a planner myself I will be living a much more fulfilled life. Quality of life will skyrocket frankly. & all while spending a fraction. If you are close to family & friends that's different.
It's not for everybody. But if you're tired of the West's corrupt medical system, the toxic feminist women, the culture of greed, and the ridiculous price of housing, then the Philippines may work for others.
I'd rather have Filipinos talking about the Philippines, though its difficult to find Filipinos who are comfortable talking on expat channels. I'm always grateful when I find some who are.

Thank you for interviewing Mike! He's got great insights for the guys coming to the Philippines!
Hi Gary, good to hear from you. Yes, Mike sure does.
Great interview with Mike. What a great guy he is.
Thank you for watching. Yes he is
Couldn't agree more. You have to like where you live. Don't settle in a spot just for a woman.

Haha, not a bad strategy Jerry. Just come to the city sometimes to catch up with people

Well, I’d say the $168 vs $375 mortgage antidote is so funny, but true. TH-camrs are the 2020 version of Prarie Home Companion, I guess.
