Cut a piece of treated plywood that fits In The bed of your truck. At the bottom put a 2x4 on the 1 1/2” end. And that spans the width of the plywood. Mount the 2x4 a few inches forward of the end. So you can cut two oblong holes in near the end of the of the plywood. This is for your grip. Pull the plywood out and have it setting like a ramp. Pull the deer onto the plywood rand. Walk around the back. Get ahold of the grip hold. Squad down. Do a squat to stand up using your legs not your back to pick it up and level the deer/plywood. Just push it on to the truck. Done. Congratulations on your doe
Very nicely done. Self videoing is difficult. Add a stickbow and it’s much more difficult. Self video, stickbow, ground attack is next level! Big respect!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
With any bow hunt from ground level, but especially with traditional equipment, you have to account for the target dipping down at the sound of your string before the arrow gets there. Aim a little lower than you think you'll need and the target will typically be right on the money by the time the arrow gets there. I'm always amazed how fast they react. Really great hunt!!
I've bought 4 in the last few years. Bowhunting is a passion of mine. After the war I realized the difference between real weaponry and subpar....Black Widow reigns supreme in every area in the traditional archery world. I will NEVER hunt without my Widow. There is a model for every archer and worth every well spend dime. I have taken numerous deer each year and I can count on my Widow to consistently perform year after year. You will regret not investing in yourself and your passion. These bows PERFORM and are RELIABLE...unbelievable and durable in all weather conditions.
Two great hunts ... Your a little hunting machine ! Wish you would of shown where she was hit, exit, how far she went, all that stuff. We can all learn from shot placement.
Damn a black widow recurve and Iron Will broadheads. You young lady know how to roll first class in the traditional archery world. Congrats. Glad to hear you talking about the importance of sharpening. Razor sharp broadheads are a make or break deal when archery hunting and especially with low poundage traditional gear.
That is two for you, from the ground, in one week. While watching the video, I was afraid that twig was gonna deflect your arrow. One time I climbed a tree, and then dropped all my arrows but one. Then a doe came by, and I shot over her back. She ran off, then came back and smelled the arrow. LOL
I got so much respect for you.i hope you realize my daughter of 14 years old started traditional archery with me because of you.your a ambassador for women in traditional archery. 😊
Nice job! Easiest way I have found to load them in the truck by my self is I position the hind quarters of the deer just below the tail gate. I stand on the tailgate, squat down, grab deer hind legs and stand up and walk backwards dragging them up and into the bed of the truck using mostly leg power. Try it sometime much easier than lifting all the weight at once up off the ground. I got a doe last weekend, 10 yard shot, in Cruzr saddle 15 ft in tree, sure was hot quartering and packing her out, but totally worth it. Good luck and be safe. Subbed.
Dang! From the ground!!!! Sister, you are a trad warrior for sure. You make me want to stay on the ground for the rest of the season. I missed one last evening from my saddle. Like you, I was surprised that I missed. Trad bow makes it really challenging.
You're on the right track with the wider cut and heavier FOC, look into the Simmons sharks or something like the Zwickey Eskimo or Bear Razorheads. If you file off the sharp point and give them a slightly rounded chisel profile the penetration will blow your mind. I used the Zwickey Eskimo 160gr last season with a 100gr brass insert and another 60gr of FACT weights behind that on a 30" GT Warrior 400, something around 600gr total weight but very heavy up front and I blew through ribs and all on 3 deer and took a frontal shot on a 4th, a big doe, busted through the breastplate and buried the shaft to the feathers. My bow is a 50# but even with a 35-40 you could push the 575-600gr threshold. You might not notice a difference on those good shots but you'll have a much better chance at getting vitals if you have a chiseled tip and hit the thin upper part of the scapula. Here's a link to the video I saw years ago about profiling the tip. Ted Nugent learned it from Fred Bear and they've both put more animals in the freezer than I could ever dream of so I figured it was worth a shot! Awesome hunt and good luck this upcoming season! th-cam.com/video/4xAhsVVihd0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SKuvHUKnnSl8TMB6
Your Camo kinda looks like ASAT. Mine is the leafy kind also that is affected by wind. A hunter past me at 3' walked past, stopped, came back and then exclaimed, "Dang, I thought you were a bush! I saw your fletching."
Whoever was your mentor has done a great job. You are one fine hunter. You will surely pass it on to the next generation. Great video content also. Thanks
You are freakin awesome! What a year so far! Tempting me to keep trad hunting and eventually getting a Widow. Thank you for the inspiration! Keep going!
Fantastic! I love the Black Widow like yours. I still make my own Port Orford cedar arrows. I am fascinated by your skill and and hunting prowess! I know in Texas more and more ladies are getting involved in the traditional archery class at many clubs. IMO, you are an amazing person. 👍👍👍👍👀
Glad you capitalized on the second chance to feed the family. Also may want to get yourself checked for a hernia after that deadlift into the truck. I am serious by the way, gave myself one doing the same thing years ago. That is straight dead weight and shifting dead weight at that.
That 1st shot is the mistake we all make. You didn’t take a second to let that anxiety storm pass then proceed with the shot. Watch the shot you were shaking bad. That’s what happens when we don’t separate the aim from the shot. Congrats again Redemption.
I just subscribed to your channel, it's very good. Please, how many pounds of bow do you hunt with and what total weight of arrow do you use? Thank you.
@@the.traditionalshots Thank you very much for answering. I also hunt with traditional and with 45 pounds, my arrow weight is 480 greins, with 200 greins on the point. A greeting from Spain.

This is the greatest advice ever. Thank you for that!
Great job. I buy my broadheads thru you lol. Always watch your stuff. Very cool
🌾😮it was the grass fault . Great job “power lifting “ her into the truck.
How do you deal with your jacket leaves getting stuck in the zipper ✂️😂
Congratulations two off the ground exciting way to do it and hard. Darren

Great hunt. Recurve the only way to hunt deer.
did you use a chair or were you kneeling
just curious old man knees here

Its a beautiful bow.

After watching your videos I decided to buy a lighter bow. Went from 55lb down to a 40lb. I now have 2 40's and 2 55's. Enjoyed the video!
A Jet Sled will help you drag it and uou can slide it into the pickup bed. I hunt trad solo and the sled is awesome for me. Great video!
I agree. I use a Jet Sled all the time. It makes it much easier and frees the deer from dirt and debris!

I totally know what you meant, but had to chuckle when I thought of a viewer who knew nothing about Black Widow bows. 😉
You are so badass..... i wish i could have found a woman that wasn't afraid to do the gut pile boogie!! Keep slingin!!!

Well done Turner!!! ❤
NICE JOB!
That was awesome
You go girl!!!
Well done!!!!!
Ma'am, may I be the first to say... you have beautiful broadheads. Nice hunt.
Awesome shot miss. I haven't made practice with my trad bow enough of a priority, so I'm still using training wheels. Keep it up.
Congratulations. I did the same thing shooting at a small doe years ago. I missed and she ran off a ways, then came back. The 2nd shot put her down.
