I met Steve shortly after he got started building bows when he lived here in Florida. Great guy and he makes awesome bows that are real performers. I’m especially fond of his longbows
He's such a good dude. He has helped me a lot on my journey into the traditional archery world and his bows are so unique the attention to detail is incredible.
Glad to see you are reinventing the art of your hunting style. I shot a short bow for years. I went away from it because it was not as forgiving as a longer bow. It seemed to be inconsistent and I was constantly chasing the problems. Its been 20 years since I went away from a short bow. Things have improved tremendously since then. Cant wait to see how you do with it. Your experience may just what it takes for me to switch back to a short trad bow.
your an inspiration and a very interesting character my man. huge fan and am very pleased when i get to see a video with you in it. nockem dead this year man. respect the grind
I appreciate the kind words, brother! Thanks so much for following along. I plan to have a lot more of this type of content on this page this year throughout the entire season.
Great content. Your stories are very inspiring. There’s a bunch of us looking to get back to basics. I’d really like to find more videos on how to be a better woodsman.
Love the video! I made the switch to traditional this year too and I’m trying the light and mobile style too! Not sure how it’s gonna work out being 6 4 and 285 lbs lol but we’re gonna try. Thanks for the inspiration brother keep it up and good luck this year!
These bows look really awesome! I know a Bowyer that makes recurve bows down to 36". Worked on his design for a good while. Talk about a great saddle hunter bow!
Yeah, it was surprising to me that there were not more options for small bows out there. People get too scared about a less forgiving or comfortable shooting experience, but on a mission-dependent basis, they are the ticket.
Hey sir thanks for sharing I’m looking forward to seeing your upcoming hunts with it. I’m growing more and more interested into the traditional realm of hunting, I’d like to invest into a nice recurve. Good luck and god bless
Hit me up if you come up to SE Wisconsin. I run any Anytime Fitness and can set you up with a temp pass if you need! Cause I see you're working out at one. Good shit! I always appreciate a hunter that takes his physical health as top priority.
Didn’t know you picked up the struggle stick man. Love to see it. Dying breed is correct. Shooting out of a stand with it is a whole other level. 200lb buck looks like 40lb coyote. Changes your whole setup. Will check in to see how it’s going Stay with it
You said it, brother! The adjustment over the last couple of years has been a big process. Oddly enough, I had to step back a little bit and set up for shots a few yards longer than before. Clearances from the tree with traditional equipment are savage. I appreciate the support. Good luck this fall!
I love simple bow.. I do have a cross bow I got for free .. it's for fun.. but that's not archery ... it's a dart gun 😆 I will probly never shoot a compound
Every bow Steve makes is a one-of-a-kind custom, but he has base builds, and yes, I believe this size bow he is calling a tactical base. You can certainly tell him you want one like this one, but there are all sorts of other things you can customize and have him make to your liking. If you're interested, I linked his contact info in the description.
My draw is not very long. Im sitting at about 27". Reducing the overall size of the bow has been my goal to help with general clearance issues, hunting thick cover up in trees, and shooting deer at sub 10 yards at elevated positions.
It all depends on the customizations you select. Every bow Steve builds is a one-of-a-kind, so you can have him make it exactly how you like. He does have base build prices, though, and this is a very new type, so you'll have to check out his website or shoot him a dm, and he'll let you know.
Yes, sir! The first bow he built for me, he was still living down in Florida. we linked up via phone and talked through all the specifics I wanted in the build, and it showed up at my door ready to string up.
Cool bows!! But please take the dang water Bottle out of your hand or whatever that noise is when you are gonna record. If you’re gonna produce a video atleast try. You guys build great products but good gosh do the right thing when videoing.
Switched to trad bow this yr and not sure I’ll ever pick up a compound again!!! Think Jeff makes a good lookin bow man!!! Thx for this video.

The feeling is so different, brother! So rewarding.

Damn you! You sparked my interest!
That would be like jumping over the Mississippi for me! I'll keep an eye on you to find out what might happen then. Impressive bow to say the least.
Awesome job guys❤❤

Must be Helm Bowman. He is making me 42" right now. I love short bows.

Excellent brother ❤🏹💪🏻

The bow is sick! I just picked up a 55” Shakespeare necehdah. So torn if I want to put down my compound. What did you settle on for your arrow setup?
That is a beautiful bow sir
Thank you, brother.

Me too!
Get with Steve; he'll make you something special.
You don’t like a finger glove? I agree about the tabs, they get a bit annoying. I really enjoy the glove though

How can I get my hands on a bow like this?

Is he gonna start offering these?

We definitely ain't videographers; We're hunters. We'll try better for you, though, brother. Thanks for watching.
