Just bought the Citation 200 same color as in the video. After 3 days i absolutely can’t understand how house shaking deep bass is possible, and i’m coming from many home theaters with a big subwoofer. Absolutely insane 🤘

Citations are great, I have citation 300s. Citation one and a onyx studio 6. The 300s are another level compared to the onyx / 200. I have them on a dedicated speaker stand, positioned in the room in stereo. Soundstage, base and performance is mind blowing for the size. But they have two, 89mm drivers, two 3/4 inch tweeters and a passive radiator at the back and run at 100watts rms each (peak 300watts) . The studio 6 is nice. Bass isn’t t as deep as the citation 300’s. The 300’s are cleaner, deeper and refined. Expensive sounding refined. But that studio 6 is impressive. Very excellent speaker. I’ve listened to the 200’s sound very similar to the studio 6. Maybe slightly more extension due to running two passive radiators. But I encourage for people to have a crack at listening to the 300’s they are extremely close to the citation 500 in performance.

@@8000860 No CItation 300's are powered only. Great sounding speakers, but designed for in room audio. Having a stereo pair is awesome, especially if you get a chance to put them on stands, enabling less work for the active room eq.
Hey there, I have been subbed for a while and have been watching you build this channel, and I am so impressed at what you are doing. Man, you are getting better and better at the reviews. Your video work is better. The whole package is better. The presentation is better. Really like what you did with this one.
I know this was not a deep dive into any of the speakers but out made me hungry for a deeper dive - which is good and bad, I suppose.
You did the most wonderful thing of choosing the one you liked at the end and saying why. So many people do not give their own opinion. We hear the recording, but it is not always possible to get a real understanding of how they sound through youtube. It is compressed by your recording process, and the youtube playing process will compress it further. What we get is vastly inferior to what you heard when you were comparing the speakers. Your opinion is going to be very useful. If we could hear real differences in the sound, they might be either glaring or possibly because of our own setup. Having the reviewer explain why they made their choice is always a better option, even if we are going to make a decision ourselves in the end. Thanks for doing that. I would have loved to hear some more detail on why you chose it, but not having more did not seem to take away from the quality of the video - it is just what I would have liked personally.

I have the Onyx 5 and you can play with the BASS depending on the surface you place the speaker. And has a HUGE resonance. When i put it in close environment it can make glass, windows and everything vibrating! I want the 6 now!!

I have studio 5and I'm really happy with it, but the citation sounds incredible, what a great base. But very expensive compared to the studio series.

Good video. However all speaker has great bass in your video since it is exaggerated so much. But the actual low range may different. I have onyx 6 but the bass not too boomy like the one in your video.

Hello, first of all big THANK YOU for the comparison! Im on the market at the moment to buy a portable speaker (which you supposed to use at home ;) ). Except 3 speakers from your comparison im adding Beolit 17 to the mix (did you check it? do you know if it's any good? Is it better than the speakers from this comparison?). One thing is still not clear for me... you mentioned that you can charge Studio 6 via micro USB port. Could you please confirm it. I was sure that this is only a service port and to be frank the lack of viaUSB charging option was a deal breaker for me. Keep up the great work & best regards from Poland!

The beolit 17 has only Bluetooth while the Citation 200 is connected to the wifi through chromecast. It also have airplay and Bluetooth for taking it on the go.
So if you want a good combination of a classy home and portable speaker you should go for the Citation 200.
The beolit20 is out now. Same as the 17 but longer battery and qi wireless charging

Correction ** the studio 6 charges via the dedicated power port not micro USB. the micro USB port is for diagnostics

@Emmanuel Watta I think its a service port and u can use it while the speaker is connected to your PC to do firmware updates or to reset the speaker.
@The Dictator I wrote the support and they said there isn't any update available :(
Seems like they don't care as much about software.
I tried to connect the onyx 6 via the service port with my PC but nothing happened (you need a special tool)....so I guess we have to wait but I think they won't release an update.

@@stevenrodriguez2882 Bose is good for camping or going somewhere because of battery life and good overall sound but if you need that extra oomph for bass then the other two even though I doubt I’d be happy carrying it around the campsite and constantly having to charge it

Bias - sounds like he never moved the microphone. It's dead center for the Citation so it has more of a true stereo sound. If you watch the video with headphones the studio 6 is right heavy, while the bose is left heavy.

Great review, by chance would you be able to compare the Bose and the Citation to the B&O Beloit 17 or or newer updated 20?
I've got the beolit 17 the sound is incredible, the battery life on full blast however, lasts 45 minutes, I've checked its not just mine it's across the board, and that's an absolute piss-take for such an expensive speaker. The beolit 20 has had its battery increase by 1/3 which again is a piss-take at £450 I think its 3600mah, I have more than that with my rechargeable batteries in my Xbox controller which cost about £10.
If you plan on keeping the beolit 17 or 20 at home an argument can be made for buying one but even then at that price, even though the sound is incredible there may be better alternative home options.

I currently have the Bose 2 Portable home speakers, they mesh well with making a great outdoor addition with the rest of the Bose home systems. I’ve been looking at the Beloit 17 for a while now, yes the battery reviews are awful, however u do get the recommended 24hrs at normal listening volumes. At full blast I guess the power just drains the unit lol, try plugging in a usb-c portable battery pack to help with your portable needs.
I’m looking for a more powerful portable speaker with amazing sound quality and I think the B&O Beolit 17 & 20 ticks the box. A lot of great options out there, however I would still like to see a comparison with the above listed speakers to satisfy my decision.
@@Ronz450 I have even tried it with a portable compatible usb C battery which I had to spend ages looking for and it only added another 30 minutes. Honestly mate I have put a lot of time into getting the speaker to run longer, even replacing the internal battery, I tried 4 different batteries from 4 different companies and the best of them managed to last the same amount of time. The only reason I am not extremely angry is I bought this speaker 2nd hand for 1/3 the price, if I had paid full price, I don't think I would be able to contain my anger for the company telling what can only be seen as a blatant lie.
@@mattfm101 oh dear, that is definitely a bummer, but I think if I hear it I may be sold 😂. My only pet peeve is that it’s not water resistant or WiFi compatible. U seem to like it loud, does the bass stay consistent at higher volumes or get lost like most of Bose speakers?
@@Ronz450 In my opinion it stays constant all the way up to 100%, I'd say around 95% the treble starts to get a bit tinny but it is still lovely to listen to. If clarity is the thing you value most from music, then this speaker will probably win you over. I'd advise going to hear it at retailers and make sure to either get a great 2nd hand deal on ebay for the 17 but if it was me I'd probably go for the 20 with the larger battery and who knows maybe they might have figured out the USB-C charging with the newer model. I'd enquire about the return policy when you go to test/buy the speaker, just in case you change your mind.

@@sebastianro9057 i ended up returning both because the battery was just not enough but i would go with the onyx because you get waterproofing, it also sounded a little clearer in my opinion and with an additional powerbank your still under the costs of the price for the citation

Citation 200 may have great bass response but it's also muddier in the middle compared to the onyx. Onyx sounds better overall, i feel.

@@mryoung314 Both amazing speakers but I prefer the bass of a Citation 200 indoors while the Stormbox blast outdoors.
The Stormbox blast gets really loud in volume but losses it deep bass around 75 to 80 percents while the Citation 200 keeps it deep bass throughout it volumes but it doesn't get that loud to be honest. So it really depends on your use. But if you want just a deep bass experience only get a (*Citation 200)and if you want a fuller sound experience (*Tribit Stormbox Blast).

Bose, mids are there, highs are muddy, bass is not deep. Citation, good bass, no mids, only base and highs, HK, best of these three, low end is quite ok, mids are there and treble also+ it is weather proof. HK OS6 ordered. Thank you for this video.
Keep in mind the Citation is a front facing speaker only while the Bose is a 360° sound. Makes big difference. You definitely hear the difference.

Studio 6 deserves all the money. I've tried 200 and U can't compare with it. Over Studio 6 can be maybe Citation 300 but not the 200. And Bose 😀😀😀. This one shouldn't be here! And believe me, I have some speakers in my house (JBL, Bose, Harman kardon, Edifier).

@@ventrizzzel5619 not at all, onyx 4 3 2 and 1 is only from harman kardon, 5 and 6 already belong to Samsung and the manufacturing must always have the rules and processes of harman kardon, it is like buying the know-how of a franchise everything remains in order that's why they sound and will sound better than a bose or marshall, sony, etc ... jbl is another story like the extension
@@ventrizzzel5619 Samsung only own Harman. The Research and Design of the speakers is done by Harman and JBL only. Not by Samsung.
I bought the Bose and compared it with the Harmon Kardon speaker at Best Buy. The base on the Bose is much richer and deeper than this review would lead one to believe. It is probable that sound settings would just need to be adjusted for the Bose speaker. I could feel the table and floor vibrate with mine on base heavy songs.

Hello to everyone I would not get the bose it sounds good but after mine got replaced and repaired 5 times I got a refund and my brother had the same issue and also we have had refunds from bose for other products that didn't last more then a few months wich is not good 😐 and before I get people having a pop at me for hating bose every speaker I have owned in my home has been bose since 1998 and all but the last few r still working 🤷♂️

I have Bose Revolve Plus and soon my Onyx Studio 6 will come at my door. Both are very good but I will never buy Bose again.

Too mucho bass on the HK ones, doesn't sound balanced and it's not how the original recordings should sound like. I'd go for the cleaner more true sound. As in pictures, too much editing ruin the moment.
I got the bose portable home speaker because I've had the xtreme 2 before the jbl boombox before the sony xb43 and pulse 4 and the bose speaker sound comparable to the xtreme 2 but weighs even less then the pulse 4 I call it the magic speaker the sound to size ratio of the bose speaker literally doesn't make sense to me

I own two onyx5(same as 6 without ipx7) and it goes more lower than 50hz, in fact they can reach 34 hz

Ok at this point I think Harman Kardon just took away the point of the onyx's, if they're adding that fat meaty bass to their even smaller higher quality speakers and better drivers then what's the point of having an onyx then? The Citation is just a better Onyx with google assistant built in and is smaller, louder and more portable and has the same battery. So I think Harman Kardon will start to see less sales in their onyx's unfortunately, I love my Onyx Studio 5 & 6 but if Harman Kardon makes all of their speakers sound like Onyx's then what's the point of having the Onyx's?

the battery is even bigger. citation has 4,800mAh, while the studio 6 only has 3,283mAh.
