I have a 98 Forester that has in no way been pampered, just regular oil changes and other small maintenance things here and there. It has never had an engine or transmission rebuild and it is doing fine. Add in the fact that a base model Cayenne is over twice the price of a base model forester, and I think you have your winner.
That thing gets down. Where is that track, it almost looks a little downhill, or does it just look like that in the video? I think mine and your's would be a solid run. I have only put one video up so far.

The engines have never been rebuilt and one has 245k and the other 196k (914, 928). Also, are you sure that ANY Subaru transmission will outlast any Porsche transmission (auto/manual)? Don't know where you got that info from...

(Dune/ Desert/ Mountain competion and races ), And of course you are going to "pay for what you're getting." A "well kept" Subaru will last you a good 15- years at best with regular wear and tear including rebuilding the motor at least twice as opposed to a Porsche where it'll last you a lifetime with low maintenance...
