  • Ferris the ferret was diagnosed with lymphoma (cancer) and the vet recommended he be put down on the operating table.
Two weeks later and his health is great, as seen in this beautiful clip of him playing.

I think I know where the term "pop goes the weasel" comes from: The War Dance.

    • @OldSkoolWax
      @OldSkoolWax 5 ปีที่แล้ว +43

That or the real reason, Weasel is cockney rhyming for a coat. Pop was a word used for pawning something. Coats were usually the most expensive piece of clothing to pawn when you're struggling for cash.

I finally got my little girl exited enough to do a war dance, recently got her and as she’s getting more comfortable more of her personality is starting to show. She will also take little pieces of her food that I will hand her and she will be incredibly gentle and make sure she doesn’t bite my finger. We have given her time to get used to us and get more comfortable and she has :)
We were given her by someone who found her tied up, he was about to be homeless and couldn’t take care of her. We are getting her a proper kennel, place to play, food, toys, treats, and she has a vet appointment already set. I’m so happy she is doing better, I think she is just a baby, she is so tiny, not nearly he size of a full grown ferret. We think she may be a few months old.

@Ash Doszczeczko From a quick google:
Ferrets live an average lifespan of 5-7 years, however, the current record for the oldest ferret is 14 years old!
      &
“[A ferret’s lifespan ranges] from five to nine years,” she said. “[It’s] a pretty large gap and it’s mainly because the ferrets in pet stores live on a shorter time frame, whereas if you get a ferret from a breeder … you get a longer age range.”

Late to the party but weasel & stoat’s do a “war dance” to trance their prey before they strike. Ferrets being closely related to weasels probably do the same. Here’s Ozzy the Desk weasel to see him war dance/play with his human. For example: th-cam.com/video/VdRXuyBOyow/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/d2CTVqt2wxU/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/QzBZCao0kLE/w-d-xo.html

Ferrets are wonderful, wonderful animals and great pets, except for the fact that they have absolutely zero sense and seem to be in a race-wide CONTEST to find the absolute silliest way to get themselves killed.
I had ferrets once, one night I let them out to play for in a CLOSED ROOM and after a little while one of them was simply... gone. I stopped noticing him around as we played. At first I didn't think much of it. I thought he was just hiding, he liked to hide in and under things, so I checked the usual places and... nothing.
He was gone. Just apparently evaporated.
I freaked out, I searched desperately all night, I never could find out where he went or how he got out. My room has no vents, the windows were shut, the door was shut, niether of those lovably insane slinkies had ever tried to get out before, and I pulled the room apart to check all conceivable hiding places.
    Not a damned trace anywhere.
I found him later that morning. Wanna know where? In the street out front of the house, run over.
To this day, I have no clue how he did it. The only conceivable way to get there I could think of was a 16 foot straight drop onto a concrete driveway with nothing to climb on and smooth aluminum siding.
I was upset, but honestly, I was even more IMPRESSED than I was upset.

    • @stanleyhape8427

    • @GuukanKitsune

@Stanley Hape A window that was barely open, had a screen in it, and led to a sixteen foot drop lined with smooth aluminum siding and no other handholds to climb on, straight down onto an asphalt driveway.
It's the only working theory I have in the investigation, and it's not even a good one.
