Today we going to install Orbis Overlanding Rack Wing and Molle Panel on the rear of the seat.
hopefully, this will help out someone who is interested in the Rack Wing but didn't know how they were mounted.

10:45 You could buy a bicycle tire inner tube and split it open, then cut pieces of that tube to go where you want (between the rail and that new rack for example). It’s thick enough but not overly thick (and stronger than that foam) and it would prevent rubbing. And it’s cheap and easy.

Looks good bro!!! I would just cut a tire tube and wrap the rail where your bracket is going to be mounted ants you’ll be all set.

Great Video Thanks for sharing. Glad your happy with them both. Good feedback on the bracket and the foam piece, it looks like maybe for the OBW a bit thicker foam strip would be worthwhile. I'll do some looking into that!

I got my rack wing for my wilderness almost a year ago and I cannot get that thing to fit to save my life. I opted for the yakima brackets but even so I had to source some hardware and make a spacer because the suction cup would sit on the window at the right angle. Did you change or update the brackets for the wing on the wilderness? This seems to fit way better

I am so glad I found your channel! I just got my first Subaru, a 2022 Forester Sport. I can't wait to take her camping, and I will definitely be getting some of these mounts. Have you had any concerns or anything you noticed with the mount being suction-cupped to the window? That is my only worry.

I really appreciate it! 🙏 and congratulations on your purchase~ I had the same concern before purchasing and had to check few time looking out through the rear view mirror to see if it's still on or flapping around. Lol. But it's been holding pretty good. And we had some cold weather and had no issues.

I would mount my S&W FPC, med kit, fire suppression and extra magazines for my side arm. (seat molle) The wings are kinda cool.

Love the videos and the progress you've made on your Outback...it's looking mean!! Quick question, who makes your rain/wind guards? I have 2020 Outback XT & and do not like Subaru option with chrome top and flat/bulky look.

I believe the hinges are there so you can release suction cup and clean the window. It would drive me crazy if I couldn’t clean a dirty window.

Hi again Chasing Adventures. I got my Molle Panel from Orbis today, another purchase thanks to your videos! The issue I am having is I was only supplied with 1 strap. I was given two sets of buckles and plastic pieces. Did you get two straps or did you cut yours in half or something like that? Love my Her Necklace lights btw. Thanks again
Hello, I only received 1 strap as well. I cut to length and used the buckles to strap to the headrest and used the rest of the strap on the bottom and tied a knot. I do wish they would have provided two straps and more buckles..
Love the Rack Wing !!Looks Great !! But... Would have liked the mounting hardware screws to be black to keep it all clean. My eyes go right to the silver in the screws. OCD...
Haha, I wished that, too, and was thinking of painting them (Slight OCD here), but I got used to it and looks more rugged to me. 😆
I'd try to figure out some way of securing them also as a deterrent from theft.
The bare u brackets are going to eventually rub away at the finish on the rails also. Maybe get some black rubber hose tubing from the auto store where they have various sizes and slip them over the u bolts. It'll provide some sort of protection at least. And it'll also help the brackets blend in better visually.

@@ChasingAdventuresCO you can apply some Plasti Dip on the u bolts for corrosion protection before you slide the rubber tubing on. And then cover the nuts with some also. The stuff is like a rubber coating that you can peel off if you change your mind.

What size of the Thule bars did you get? REI is convinced these wont fit on the OBW but your video makes it pretty clear they work...
Hello Nick. I purchased them used and was on Forester before and I believe the Part# is 7503B and just by measuring the length of the bars it measures at 33inch. so if you get one for forester it will work with our OBW
Great install. I was wondering too about the ‘u’ clamps (that’s what I’m calling them, lol) that is on the roof rack, I was concerned about it chaffing. Have you seen any issues with that? I thought it would be a good idea to have some kind of rubber sleeve on these parts as well as maybe a thicker rubber piece between the wing base and the roof rack. It’s just a lot of areas if one is concerned with chaffing. Your thoughts…
Hi David. That was also my concern but so far it's looks fine. Others have suggested that I should put a shrink wrap, plasti dip them but honestly since the U clamps don't move, I don't think it's necessary. But if I were to do it again from, I would use at least a shrink wrap just to be on the safe side. Won't hurt!
Great install. Did you add tinting to the OBW windows or is that the factory original. Your windows seem darker than mine.

Are you leaving it on or removing and adding back on before trips ?
It is holding up just fine! I only remove the RotoPax gas tank when I drive around town.
Neat design but it looks like he or she stopped midway in the design process in regard to aesthetics and look. Those u-bolts at the very least could have been powder coated so that they aren't so obvious. A better solution would be to have a cutting fitment option that not only does the job but is also pleasing to the eye. Attention to detail in regards to a final design is everything.

what's the static load for your thule cross bars sir? I know thats not the one they have at Subaru for wilderness but I like yours more. it looks cleaner
Hello Timothy, I also picked out this because it looks much cleaner than the factory offering and the load raring is 165lbs to that of aero extended is 176lbs in motion and 700lbs parked. So if you are planning to put a rooftop tent or carry heavy load I would just go with the factory offering but for my needs it works great.

@@timothyj.2937 yes only 10lbs different but the factory ones could handle 700lbs when parked.. I don't know what mine is rated when parked but I guess to play safe if you are going to load that much.

Hello Dawson, Main purpose for these rack wings are for the RotoPax. and I put up lights, Axe, and shovel for those sticky situation.

On their website there the rack wing mounting solution, and back wing accessory mount, do you have to purchase both?
I dont think so. I just purchased the rack wing and picked out the option for my car's roof rail.
