You can first hear it on 2:06, and then it’s even more noticeable in the 95/96 ones. Completely different vowel sound to the earlier ones. I actually think in 1990-1992 she was trying to create a deeper more soulful tone, and the girlier one from ‘94 is more her ‘true’ voice.
I too wonder about pre vs post music box, and which was her “true” voice. The change is so drastic (maybe not to the general public, but to us lambs). I do think the fact that she was able to consistently hit higher notes post-music box kind of suggests that it was more her “true” voice.

That higher girly voice she does now is what she prefers but it’s not natural. Especially considering the fact that your voice deepens as you age especially after you have children.
