Amazon suppressed my customer review, citing a violation of their Community Guidelines. Unfortunately, they will not specify which guideline was breached and it doesn’t appear to me that any are. This isn’t the first time it’s happened. If you happen to identify the issue, I’d appreciate knowing.

As an active Amazon reviewer, I reviewed both regular purchases and the Amazon VINE program purchases. Through the VINE program, I receive select products for free (including shipping) in exchange for providing reviews. However, my reviews often receive a vague form letter email explanations indicating “doesn’t meet our community guidelines,” even though I cannot discern any guideline violations. The lack of specific feedback is both confounding and irritating as Amazon appears incapable of being specific as to what is triggering the rejection of the review.
Reddit correspondence and my own experience, strongly suggest this is a well-known issue with the Amazon review automated BOT validation algorithm.
In light of this, I’ve decided to share my rejected reviews for two reasons. First, perhaps someone out there can identify any actual guideline violations that I’ve missed. Second, even if my original reviews cannot be posted to Amazon, at least the time I’ve spent creating them won’t be completely wasted and someone might benefit from my review.
