- My small contribution to celebrate the 100th 24 hours of Le Mans on the 10th and 11th of June 2023!
Impression of how an early 80's 24 hour of Le Mans race looked from both a spectator view aswell as the driver's view.
I made several visual improvements for the textures, some of the car sounds and lighting, thanks to filters. The cars, roads and surrounding objects are more detailed and credits to the creator of this circuit who did a wonderful job in terms of realism and atmosphere. From the sodium discharge street lamps to the road markings it all looks amazing.
During the day there are moving helicopters and blimps in the sky!
The AI is very well behaved, especially considering there are 56 cars on the starting grid!
Anyway, hop into the riveted aluminium sheet constructed cockpit of the Lola T610, and experience the joy of going 340 km/h, slipstreaming behind Moby Dick with 80's headlights on the Hunaudieres Straight (made the mistake of choosing the version with 2 headlights instead of 4, but that adds to the excitement i guess, lol)!

Very awesome graphics in this one, really looks great! I watched a lil bit of this year's race but it was all night footage and on my TV didn't look this good! Lol! Enjoy brother! :-)

That straight starting at 5:10 is the longest straight I have ever seen on a road course by far! 🤯 300mph material! Lol!
Thanks brother! I had a lot of fun racing this one and setting it up! I watched most of the race on TH-cam with a couple of naps in between, had a lot of fun with the side chat! Great seeing Ferrari win after a 50 year absense, and Corvette won the GTE class with my fellow countryman Catsburg who was allowed to finish the race!
@@mikesrcgarage The Cosworth DFV engine sounds good! Those were popular F1 engines back then and reliable enough to endure 24 hours of full throttle torture!
