As someone who is 19 and knew almost all of these as well as one’s older than this(I love Lucy, I dream of genie, bewitched, etc) it’s not a generational thing most of these teens were just ditzy

They keep talking about Friends but when Mad About You comes up they did not know Phoebe's twin sister Ursula was from the show and there was a cross over episode with the main characters where they mistake Phoebe for Ursula.

Friends literally lifted the concept from Living Single and did a worse job of it. The characters on Living Single were more fleshed out, more nuanced, and therefore more interesting.
Also, Jessie came to the city to become an actress; the nanny job was intended to be temporary at first. Fran worked in a bridal shop and was fired-it’s even in the theme song.

Probably more how oversaturated the TV market is. When I was a kid (in the 90s) we had 4 channels and one of them was PBS. Some rich kids had cable. Of course we knew all the shows. There were only 12 of them. Compared to today, I couldn't even begin to name all the channels and streaming sources let alone the individual shows available on them.
More due to kids not watching TV via cable but streaming instead. When we were growing up, syndicated shows were all over the place so we had so much access to it. Now with even some of the shows being on some streaming platforms, you have to go out of the way to watch them.
Growing up these shows were my favorite! Most came on WB, ABC, FOX and more! A little Easter egg, Living Single was a hit but was replaced by Friends which was a rip off 😂 Martin was the best sitcom EVER! I recommend they watch it cuz of how silly it was

Why do I get the feeling some of them call The Beatles or Rolling Stones “Overrated”? They have no respect for history and no concept of the tech limitations of the past. They’re definitely stereotypical teens, but Jaxon may be an exception. He knew stuff and wasn’t disrespectful.

When I was a teen I could have named the sitcoms from my mother's generation. This goes to show how out of touch this generation is...
