Great overview and quite some really helpful shortcuts! I wasn’t aware there was a tempo track hidden in garageband. And I wish I knew about the pitch shift region earlier. I messed up a midi track after I set the project in the wrong key. I ended up fixing it note by note. It’s good to know there is an easier way to fix it 😂
Dude, this was awesome. I work in graphics and use these sorts of keyboard shortcuts, but even after using GB daily for the last couple years, I had only picked up a handful of this. The guide and this video will increase more production greatly. Thanks man, I really learn a lot for you in every video.
Heyyy alright! I'm glad it was helpful, Chris! Yeah I was amazed when I started producing videos for the channel that SO much of it carries over into that space as well. But even some seem to be exclusive to GarageBand!
I don’t even use the mac garage band but I love that you made this video for those who do! Also hopeful there may be a similar video in the future but for Logic Pro? 😅🙏 Keep killing it dude!❤️
How do you raise/lower the volume of a single region without effecting the entire track? I know you can cut the section and drop it into a separate track and do it that way, but since I do podcasts, I would like to know how to just change the region audio for a recorded part that is too low.
There's no way to do it on the region itself (they save that for Logic), but if you add a gain plugin as the first plugin on the track, you can automate that gain plugin at specific points. Functionally the same thing!
A question i just cant find out. When recording audio with the mic in a loop, it plays automatically over the previous recording. So i can keep recording in a loop till i think my recording was good. I like this. But with midi, when recording with the loop on, the previous recording stays, so i can not play again and again till i have the best loop... Hope i explained it in a way someone understands... But i would love to record with loop on, with midi in the same way as with the mic. So in a way the new recording covers the old recording automatically... Hope someone can help me!
So, I've hit almost all of these BY MISTAKE 🤣 I'm always hitting things by accident and not sure what I did, I'm getting good at closing out windows and using the undo option though 🤣 thanks for the new upload Colin, always super helpful 🙌😊🙏
@@TheBandGuide I have downloaded 1st two, and when I tried to install them the window says if you want to use this composer go and support us on this link. There is shows 5$,10$ plans.

Great video Colin! Thanks again!! .. btw, the control+click short cut can also be done with the right mouse button ;-)
Thanks a lot! Im switching from Ableton cause doing just simple rock music and GarageBamd seems perfect!
Awesome, couple new tricks that apply to Logic Pro as well
Definitely! Glad it was helpful

🙌🏼 hey thanks, Joe!
What can we say to this Vid. but very very cool, super helpful and a big thanks Colin
Quick question, how can I lock a region to move up or down without going side to side?

Two small additions reg. the mouse wheel:
shift+mouse wheel: Pan left and right.
shift+option+mouse wheel: Zoom in and out
Oh nice! Thank you 🙏🏼
Man you should sell a GarageBand keyboard or a keyboard cover with all these shortcuts labeled lol I’d buy it!
Thanks for another great video.
Cant understand you dont have more subscribers.
ps. The only feature I really miss in GarageBand is muting a region.
🙏🏼 appreciate that! And yes! They have that in logic- did they used to have it in GB? It’s a nice feature

Dude thank you! Definitely some Logic content coming up soon 😎

Option+click and drag doesn't work for me to duplicate a track. Not sure why.
A shortcut I keep accidentally doing is colour change. Option C. Don’t think it was in your video, there was a lot there to digest!

😂 I've done that too! "k" for the metronome took me FOREVER to figure out.
Hi, tried to download compressor suggested by you. For your kind information its NOT FREE.
Which compressor are you referring to?

Ah analog obsession? They are absolutely free and you can choose to support them if you have the means
@@TheBandGuide what I understand , it is compulsory to pay certain amount than only you can install the setup. If I am wrong please guide me.
Nope! At the bottom of each post their are download links. Once you download it there is no login information and you are free to use it
