    I don’t understand why he doesn’t try to do this more often! The guy was playing against one of the best defenses in the NBA and dropped 42 easy! The Sixers don’t need Curry and even sometimes Danny Green taking more shots than Simmons, he needs to be more aggressive!

    • @David-_-_-
      @David-_-_- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +83

      It's because embiid takes the space he uses. Him not playing frees that up to allow him to attack the basket more. It's why people say they aren't a great fit together. Embiid would work much better with a traditional guard with a great outside / midrange shot and Ben would work best on a team configured like the Bucks are for Giannis. The 76ers basically become that when embiid is out like he was in this game. Both embiid and Simmons are amazing but their styles clash. A trade of Ben Simmons for either Kyrie or Harden would make the nets and the 76ers way better.

    • @David-_-_-
      @David-_-_- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@AP90x yeah I think it's easier said then done as embiid tends to dominate the offense when he plays - and that's not a bad thing because he is awesome. But then with Harris and Curry as the open shooters it kind of leaves Ben with limited opportunities. Its harder to get in a scoring rythym when you only get the shooting options every now and then. I feel he's the type of guy who needs the ball regularly for his confidence. In spits and spurts he does get in the scoring rythym he needs. The aggression comes once hes confident - and he's confident when he has more consistent scoring load on the offense. With a dominant big man like embiid the outside shooters like curry/green and Harris are always going to get the shot opportunities when Embiid gets doubled. It doesnt make sense for Ben to take the ball on these plays and so he gets shuffled out of the natural flow of the offense quite a bit.

I doin't think you'll ever see Bens true potential in the current system/squad though (but the squad might still be able to win a chip). Its just not really designed for him. It will never happen but I would have loved to see Ben play with Golden state in draymonds role. He would be like draymond on steroids who can dominate in the paint. Steph Klay and Simmons would be an ungodly nightmare to defend against.

      No confidence isn’t “everything.” A 5’3 guy with stubby arms and a 25 inch vertical who first picks up a basketball at age 14 will never play professional basketball no matter how confident he is. Confidence is important, but even other mental traits are just as important as confidence, if not MORE important-compartmentalization is huge; players who treat every moment the same no matter how much pressure because they can just compartmentalize the thoughts of how big it is and choose to ignore it are able to thrive under pressure when other players falter. Mental toughness/grit is just as, if not more important as confidence as well because it’s what allowed the best players to become the best. Their insane work ethics were made possible through grit. Obviously like anything mental confidence/grit/compartmentalization are all fluid concepts and sprinkled throughout all aspects of life. But I’d argue grit is the most important.

    Ben needs to be a center since he can’t shoot outside of the paint. Still a bad strategy unless u have 4 other players on fire from the outside.

      Nobody wanted this version of Simmons remember ? He was ballin without a jumper just fine then everyone pushed him to shoot more he lost his confidence and that back injury isn’t good for someone as big and fast as he is his body might not hold up going 100 mph all the time I mean guys 6’11 and moves like a guard

      @@Monokazie I think just about anybody would take any version of Ben over what he is now. In today's league you HAVE to shoot. It's not like the 90s and 2000s where you could get away with that. Ben DOES have to shoot to be great in TODAY'S NBA.

    So many casuals in the comments it’s ridiculous smh “why don’t he do this more often” “his mentality is why he can’t do this anymore “ you ppl don’t know shit about basketball.
    Long story short. For Ben to do this more often he needs to play in a system like Giannis is playing in or Draymond. 4 shooters on the court with him at all times. The more spacing Ben has the more he scores.
    He didn’t have 4shooters on the court with him at all times in Philly and he doesn’t have it Brooklyn .
