It is indeed. Just a shame they don't have the special features to match the quality. Here's hoping 88 put a bit more love into them this coming year :)
Thanks for all the kind words about my work. Ever since I saw these films in the theater back in '93 I've daydreamed about creating posters for them. It's very cool that I got to do it. I'm sorry to hear that you're so disappointed in the extras. Remember that sometimes even when companies try their best to obtain interviews the talent isn't always willing to discuss their films on camera. Especially the actresses who don't want to suffer through nasty online comments that, yes, they have actually aged... just like real human beings. Would I have liked more extras? Yes, of course. But I'm thrilled I can finally see the films uncut with their original language tracks and excellent subtitles. These presentations are miles above the HK DVDs I own from decades ago, and better than all the altered versions that have been put out on Blu-ray and DVD since then. As a huge fan of the FONG SAI-YUK movies, I'm an extremely happy guy.
Thanks Bob, you're very welcome and I love it!! I understand about the extra features, but even without interview those aging actors, they still could have come up with something new for its release. I keep offering lol Happy New Year and thanks for watching!!
I completely agree with you, I could not understand how these cost £50, by now 88 and Eureka should have enough money in the bank to be able to commission new interviews, and maybe a couple of mini documentaries, also behind the scenes and so on, there was just so much potential, but it ends up being so disappointing.
4:34 I have this one (and the second) on DVD Not sure if it's me but the stereo audio on that seems a bit weird in places. Like it's alternating from one channel to the next for no reason, and the audio ratio to me does not seem correct. I much prefered the audio that I recorded off early morning Channel4 (Where I first saw them)
That's exactly where I first discovered them when I was a kid in the mid to late 90s on Channel4. Made sure to "tape" them and watched them over and over.
@@Quiksylver I think there was about 4 in total. I don't know if you remember, but they also had Chinese Ghost Story 2, which is odd since they never showed the first. Then I remember bout a year later they repeated them all. Fong Sai Yuk, Fong Sai Yuk II, Chinese Ghost Story 2 etc, again, all in the same order. And then never again for some reason, and no other movies.
I bought the US double release blu-ray a while back. I don't think it was worth the price personally. It was nice that I finally got a copy of the second movie, but I found the audio slightly out of sync with the film. And I seem to remember that this issue was on the Miramax DVD release from the time as well. Note: this is only with the second movie, the first one had no problems.
I agree with you 100% I’m not totally impressed with this release. It could’ve had a way better presentation. I really hope another label picks this up with better features, and better commentaries. Not completely satisfied.
The Jet Li films need to start getting some new documentary material at least instead of only having the old features. Pump out a bit more money to make the Jet Li releases better than they are.
Absolutely! Feels like a rip-off no matter how awesome they look. These people are supposed to care about delivering the best of the best, but hey... Thanks for watching!
So nice to get some of these classic Jet Li flicks on 4K -- I wonder what surprises 2025 has in store for us.

It’s really nice to see both of these films out on blu ray and 4k these are 2 of my best jet lee movies
Greetings from Italy , I really like your presentations :)
Hey, thanks for watching and appreciate the kind words :)

No Bey, no bonus. Simple as that.
But, great review as always 😊💫
Even more reason to buy it. Bey Logan is a self professed "expert" of Hong Kong films who refuses to acknowledge his misplaced facts.
I don't bother with the 4k versions because my tv uoscakes bluray so well that I don't see much difference.
I don't mean to be rude but you clearly lack an eye for detail. The difference between 2K SDR and 4K HDR10 / DV is staggering.
@JonathanRL98 it depends on the movie you're watching. My tv and av system are both upscaling.
I have very few 4ks as not all are over whelming.

Not worth it for 35 or 50, VAT pushes the price up though. I believe that Invincible Asia said that the Tai Chi Master 4k was inferior to the Blu-ray.
This definitely was not worth 50 quid!! Keep an eye on Ebay for cheaper options or just go for the Blu :)
I agree with you 100%

Imprint Asia has on preorder a very nice boxset of EROTIC GHOST 👻 STORY TRILOGY.
