@@e_street7754.. How do you tell someone else what God did for them? You can't! Just because you have no faith in God doesn't mean He doesn't exist. You will NEVER see The Hand of God in your own life because you REFUSE to believe. The only way some people will get clean and sober will indeed be by Gods help. Suck it u p
No No. I went to detox and dedicated myself to God. Going to church 2x a week, Bible study 2 times a week. And intensive outpatient. All power to God. God saved me
6:03 I disagree here respectfully. You CAN just quit. I know there are people watching this who do not want to go into a program or something where you feel it could jeopardize your career or your family. You CAN do it, even if you're all by yourself. It's all down to discipline and consistency. I know that's very vague, but you MUST find an appropriate substitute for alcohol. Whether it's going to the gym, signing up for jujitsu, going for walks, feeding birds, playing games, building something, ANYTHING. ANYTHING is more productive than drinking. So don't feel like you can't do it without a program or a person by your side. I did it, you can too.
We are all different, there are just so many levels of alcoholism. AA seems to be great help for many. But if you want to go solo- having a substitute is key. Something that is meaningful to you. Something that gives you joy. Something you love. Best to you all!
Well, I’m sure this message is for a lot of people. I’m sure someone can relate to this. I hope that whoever needs to hear this hear it get help get sober and have a better life. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
My husband has been drinking for 35 years. He flat out refuses to stop, refuses to acknowledge negative aspects of it, refuses to discuss alcoholism because he doesn't drink every day. He's now going through 3 cases of beer a week and his health is beginning to spiral downward. In fact, he had a heart attack the day after he turned 50, and he's been on oxygen with stage 3 COPD for a few years now. His liver seems to be holding up for now, but his doctors have no idea how much he drinks. He refuses to tell them because they'll just blame everything on the alcohol and stop trying to fix what's wrong with him. He actually believes he will be a candidate for a lung transplant when his lung function drops far enough. It's very heartbreaking to watch this process.
Being I only drank for one week after turning 21, knowing I have a family of alcoholics I take care of my older brother, which still today will not give it up because of football. It should be on the schedule 1 list, but we all know most of the people in Washington D.C are as well, so is there any hope ????
Don't underestimate YOUR influence, and kids see more accurately than you think. My son is 16 and just drug himself outta bed at 430 am to come work out with me. Be the example momma bear
I’m in recovery after 25 years of this disease. The easiest part is putting down the substance the hardest is not picking up again. My advice is to show your ex-husband you and your son need him and care and want him to get him. Support him, love from a distance. You are beautiful!! Stay positive
There are articles about 12 steps being very bad if you have PTSD ( or complex PTSD). That is my experience. Making ammends to people that treated me like crap was VERY detrimental to my mental health. Add to THAT , having a sponsor who was clueless about this misunderstood brain malady triggered me further. When I felt way worse after these ammends my sponsor told me I was a spoiled brat. I found another sponsor that wanted me to redo all these ammends. Good bye AA. 12 steps are NOT the answer to EVERYTHING. JUST ASK THE 95% that cant stay sober ( in spite of doing steps). FURTHER it does not help to have the program telling you over and over and over and over that if you fail at this YOU WILL Die ( or go insane or go to jail). No Thanks. It took decades to deprogram from that b.s. now I practiice harm reduction and rarely drink more than 2. And I dont have this b.s. phenomenon of craving.
Everything won't work for everyone. But I disagree, and that's our right. It's working for me, but I'm just at the beginning stages. 9 months sober, and I deal with PTSD. Who knew we could win by surrendering. Open your heart and mind and keep trying. Either way, I wish you the best.
@@frankmoody5304 open my mind? Ever try to introduce ANY new ideas at a meeting? You WILL be shot down, humiliated and abused. I opened my mind by rejecting a dogmatic " program" that has not changed one bit in almost 100 years. Bill W said " we realize we know only a little. More will be revealed to us"... Really? More about addiction has been revealed but don't you dare bring ANY of it up at an AA meeting.
Alcohol is the gateway drug. Little kids know what alcohol is before any other drug. Hey son go get dad his beer or no son that is mom's special drink.
Exactly, it's a fact that quitting booze not only makes your world a better place to be in, good things start to “magically” happen and the energy is insane! Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever, that’s the best shortcut I go’ogled that took less than a week to work without suffering withdrawal.
@@Andrea-HeIsKing you are so wrong. There is resveratrol in wine, has lots of benefits. “The recommended amount of drinking red wine to reap its health benefits is one glass for women and two for men daily. By following this intake, you can fight off free radicals, regulate your blood sugar and cholesterol levels, improve heart health and lower your risk of developing certain types of cancer.”
I've been sober for 4 years, and 6 days.
I drank alcohol all of my life 40 years Sober 4 years sober and 22 years drug free 30 days cigarette free

AA was and continues to be my Rock..9yrs sober and helping others now
A social drinker for 50 years, I just stopped 3 months ago. The best decision ever! I have never smoked.
I never liked alcohol but drank it when others drank it. I stopped around 10 years ago and didn't drink a drop of alcohol in these 10 years.
One thing I disagree with with-I got sober and been sober for over 6 years. I did not do the rooms. GOD SAVED ME
The rooms lead you to God.
You wanted change. Not God saved you.

Smoke marijuana. It's all you need.

I think alcohol, porn and video games are same
Respect the bottle. If you cannot, seek professional treatment.
Now make a video about weed please

Oh my god your life is so hard you can afford and drink alcohol all day.
Everything in moderation. Glass of wine a day it’s actually good for our health.
So is grape juice. Wine has sulphites. Very bad for you.

That’s a myth it’s been debunked
No, it's not. Alcohol is a poison and toxic to cells. It's even used to kill virus and bacteria and such.
Glass of wine myth is now known to be just a myth.
