Acid jazz is a musical style that emerged from the innovation and fusion of mainly African-American genres. It has its origins in England in the late eighties. I knew jazz but I didn't know that acid jazz existed before persona 5
Not even the first Sega game to use it. Basically every Rouge track in Sonic Adventure 2 is pure acid jazz goodness. Like Bright Sounds, Lovely Gate 3, I'm A Spy, Fly in the Freedom (her theme song), etc.

i always thought persona 5's music was just some form of chill funk or maybe even a weird genre of lofi but it's legit jazz! that's so badass to me. music is magic

Love this style of music.....chill with a groove edge!! Since it came out more predominantly in the 90's.........even the commercial version of Jamiroquai brought it to an existential level!!

I stumbled on this anthology as I was getting off work, great way to end the day and start the evening. Cutting my hair at home (yeah, by myself) and jamming. Bliss.

since i never had heard most of these songs beyond a few my impression is a feeling of both loss and joy to able to hear them now. its a beautiful blend of jazz/r&b/soul with great brazilian rythyms that remind me of the period in the 60s that immortalized bossa nova by some of the greatest artists of the era. Also the new renditions of songs weve heard in the past are refreshing and only remind us of why we all loved them especially when they take on a different face which requires a lot of talent which they appear to have in an abundant supply even tackling movie theme songs. Both the vocalists and the musicians are great making this compilation one of the best compilations I have heard in years. Thank you for introducing me to these new artists which is an inspiration at time when the days of listening to new artists on the radio is a thing of the past and im sad to say the music sounds so similar to music heard in elevators. And to top it off its really sexy which is a tribute to the individual(s) who assembled it for our enjoyment.
I once peed in Brazil and the place really started to shine after that. They used to have a bay full of garbage for Olympic Events that rivaled the Great Pacific Island of Human Shame too! I mean, if you go to Brazil take acid, or just stay home and watch the movie by Terry Gilliam. It's so much better. If you ever get to pee in Brazil, insist on tips. Put out a tip jar and you'll be able to pay for an upscale room downtown, and celebrities will visit you. When I peed on the Mayor of Brazil, a number of years back, he gave me the key to his vacation estate and while there, I was watching TV; he had made the fashion tabloids in spades. It may not sound like much to you, but peeing on Brazil garners smiles, brightens the place up, makes it smell better, and the locals will pray for you... if not attempt to drink directly from you. Just go down there and do it before you don't. You only live once!
