About Sierra and Stephen IRL
Hey friends! I’m Sierra Schultzzie and this is my vlog channel with my husband, Stephen. We started vlogging 5 years ago to document planning our wedding and growing together as a young married couple, and the channel has now really become our passion project. We love creating travel vlogs, disneyland vlogs, showing behind the scenes of creating my fashion and lifestyle videos, and all the little ups and downs of our unfiltered, real life. We loved documenting our journey trying to concieve and getting pregnant, are now so happy to be sharing our experience as first time parents to our daughter, Grace.
how breastfeeding is going & 2 weeks postpartum recovery update
• a night with a newborn...
It’s so healing to see that the second time around, breastfeeding can be such a different journey. For those of us who had it hard, it’s so beautiful to see. Enjoy the cuddles. 💕✨
Yes!! I'm so happy for her. It was much smoother with my second as well.
Grace saying “I’m happy to see you!” absolutely destroyed me 🥹
She's too cute and sweet ❤
It was the sweetest moment.
Little baby Alice has so much dark hair! So precious 🥺 currently contact napping with my 8 month old, seems like yesterday she was a little newborn! Time goes crazy fast with the second baby ❤️
Alice has so much hair! It's beautiful seeing y'all in this newborn phase, Grace hanging out with her dad and Alice getting all this one on one with mom is so special. Thanks for sharing
You look incredible Sierra. I've heard of pregnant women having a "glow", but I would definitely say postpartum looks GREAT on you!!!
This really shows how important paternity and maternity leave is. It also shows how difficult it must be as a single parent!
With my first, breastfeeding was SO HARD. I think I cried more than my baby did during those struggle months.
With my second, it was so easy it shocked me. I still cried, but that time from joy! 😂
SO happy to see this happen for you too. WHen it goes well, it takes one chunk of stress off your plate.
Girl, use your haakaa on the side you aren’t feeding her on while your nursing, it’ll catch all that letdown…I never pumped, that is how I built my stash. LIFE CHANGING
Yesss, the haaka was amazing for that!
Yesss!! Such a game changer and don't waste that precious liquid gold
Both of my sisters are pregnant with their first (due three weeks apart!) and this made me so excited for them 🥹
Breastfeeding is HARD. Thank you for always keeping it so real 🤍 glad the adjustment has been great so far 😊
2:50 fun fact! A study show that when new born’s listen to different languages, they’re more likely to have less difficulty learning that language in the future rather than olthers! so both are you are benefiting from this! ☺️💗
I don’t even have children but I so happy for you! Sierra. The fact that this birth and breastfeeding journey has been healing and positive for you…makes my heart happy ❤
Your husband is a phenomenal human! You are very lucky.
Hey Sierra and Stephen, thanks for sharing what a healthy and positive family dynamic looks like, it's helping me heal. I'm so grateful to you guys thank you so much from a healing heart in Jamaica. Blessings always.
It so exciting to see you transitioning to a family of 4 smoothly! Grace is so sweet with Alice!
I'm just in awe how much reading (and listening) you did during your pregnancy and now! A lot of women simply fall asleep while reading or don't even have the energy to attempt it.
You are simply amazing; so tranquil, so organized, and so productive! I so enjoy your vlogs!
Currently 7 months pregnant with my second and this is making me so excited for the sweet newborn nap cuddles!💕
Seeing Grace interact with Alice just made my day.
And she sounds so like you and Steven with her gentle voice!!!
❤
Grace is the best big sister! How awesome that Steven gets so much time to be with you all!!
10:02 ❤awe my heart..when Grace said “I’m happy to see you
All of that dark hair so so pretty!!! So glad this whole process has been healing and fulfilling!
You are literally radiating peace! Congratulations and welcome to Alice. Thank you for your book recommendation of Maybe In Another Life.. I just finished listening to the audio. I really liked it! (Don't want to say too much.) I read Pachinko long ago. I didn't know about the tv show. Thanks for the heads up.
Not me tearing up when hearing sweet Grace say “I’m so happy to see you!” She is already such an amazing big sister
Sierra are you using your haaka on the other side while Alice is eating just not on camera? the haaka was my frozen sash builder ! But youre doing a great job and Alice is so cute!
I’m smiling listening to you talk about bruiser moving the girls as babies. We have an elderly cat who’s like that. He will come and lay next to the babies and rub his head on them or hold it so their hands kind of pet him automatically. He even did this with my baby nephew when I babysat. But once they can crawl and chase him he’s out.
I feel like our pregnancies, births and breastfeeding journeys have been so similar. Pretty rough the first time around with my 2.5 year old and so much better/healing with my now 8 week old. Congratulations! It’s fun to “do it together” having our kids grow up at the same ages!
I’m loving following this journey of baby Alice. I just had my first baby girl and it’s so comforting watching someone in the same stage of life. Breastfeeding has been a bit overwhelming at times as I have a sleepy baby who needs to gain more weight- so have had to add more bottles to top up.
Excited to keep watching your journey!
Stephen is the real MVP! You guys are a power couple ❤❤❤
I have 3 children, 9,6 and 3, this made me tear up! It goes so unbelievably fast, enjoy every moment! You're an amazing mom! ❤
I'm expecting my first in two months and I'm so nervous about how tired and stressed I'll feel for the first few weeks with a newborn - thank you for showing a calm, family-centered newborn experience!
I’ve been breastfeeding for almost 2 years now , you always will be extra hungry & thirsty I feel I drink over a gallon a day no joke 😂. I’m so glad it’s going well for you this time around my heart broke for you last time you wanted it so bad to work 💗It’s such a blessing to nourish your baby on your own congratulations & great job mamma ✨
I'm always so impressed by how you and Stephen parent! Thank you for sharing, I know it's scary to do that sometimes!!
I would recommend the milk collecting ladybugs by Haakaa! I put them on the opposite side of the side im feeding on and I managed to build a supply based only on the collection of the run off :) plus it's sustainable as you dont need pads!
Alice has SO much hair!! It was so cute to see her and Grace together!
Ugh my heart. My kids are almost exactly a year older than each of yours (daughter is almost 4, son just turned 1.) Seeing that clip of G holding A with the pillow reminded me of the first few weeks with them when they were that age... such precious fleeting memories.
So happy to see that you’re enjoying postpartum, and baby Alice seems like such a dream 🥰 if you liked Pachinko, you might enjoy k-dramas, Crash Landing on You and Extraordinary Attorney Woo are great ones, both on Netflix 🤗
2oz post feed that early is incredible! So proud of you!❤
You look so at peace 😊 I remember watching how you were with Grace and all the stress that came with breastfeeding. It's awesome to see you so in such a better space ❤
Aww Grace is such a good and sweet big sister
Watching how Grace talks to Alise is so sweet. I'm currently pregnant with my second and the age gap with our older son will be about the same as your 2
I legit screamed and scared my dog when I seen this upload lol
so happy for you sierra! Breastfeeding is so beautiful and at times moms struggle for that balance for supply! I was a mom in the struggle group! I hope my last baby in a few years it will hopefully be smooth🤍✨
I feel like I’m learning how to be a mother through you, and it’s so special. 🥹
A 16 min vlog is giving me a good reason to get in some postpartum movement myself!
I miss that time when life is all about taking care of you and baby at home 😊 Slow and happy life. I felt the video was too short I wanted to continue the day with you ! All the best
I’m so glad breastfeeding is going so well this time! I just weaned my 20mo ebf and it really is amazing when it works out!!
If you’re wanting a tip to avoid the need to pump if you don’t “need” a huge stash: put the haaka on the opposite side while you’re feeding. I ended up with so much extra for the freezer and didn’t have to stress about pumping ever.
Totally try the haaka on the opposite side while nursing! I would suction it too hard I think sometimes and stimulate more let down than needed, but at the beginning I build quite a good stash with just that.
I was so excited to see that you posted, and that you all are doing so well. ❤ Warms my heart.
Thank u for sharing your journey ❤️❤️❤️ love it!
Omg Alice is so cute. I’m glad you guys are doing so good. I know Alice and Grace will be best friends. If you need a show rec watch deal or no deal island it’s similar to survivor and Boston rob is on it!!!
I'm so so glad you've been able to have such a positive experience with post-partum this time around, especially since your post-partum experience with Grace was so challenging. Happy for you and your family.
I am 2 months in with 2 under 2... I am feeling the same with breastfeeding! My first was in the bottle probably 3/4 weeks in as I couldn't cope, I did pump and build up a stash so she was on that and formula. This time round I'm so comfortable with breastfeeding and was a struggle to introduce a bottle but in the past week she has accepted it. I love the name Alice, it was a name I wanted to use if I ever had a girl but now with 2 girls, neither of them felt like an Alice. Grace is so amazing with Alice, just like our 15 month old with her little sis. The Chapel we are apart of, gave us a meal every evening for 2 weeks after my husband went back to work after his paternity leave but we have struggled to get back into the swing of making our own food again and get takeaways too often 😬😂
So heartwarming!! I am due June 3rd although my dr keeps saying we are measuring early hoping for end of May!
Wow that meal train sounds like a dream! What an amazing village
I thought I hated breastfeeding for almost the first year but then I couldn't stop. She weaned at 20 months and it broke my heart. She's 2 years and 2 months now and I still miss it
Before you build up your stash more, unfreeze a bag and taste it to see if you have high lipase. I built up over 300 ounces and didn't test it. All 300+ ounces went to waste. My daughter would not drink it.
Congratulations on your baby girl❤
I’m happy for you that the newborn stage is going better this time around. My son is 9 months old & as we’re approaching 1 year I keep being sad that I didn’t cherish his time as a newborn more - first he was in the NICU, and he never latched & my supply has been low so he mostly gets formula - basically just newborn survival mode. It warns my heart that so much of what you felt you missed out on the first time you’re able to enjoy now. ❤
Very happy for you and your family!
Have you considered using a Haakaa while feeding, rather than having to pump after. My daughter does this and loves it. She doesn’t have to worry about leaking from the other breast and gets anywhere from 1-3 oz each time.
Alice is adorable! Congrats again 💕
I’m watching this breastfeeding/pumping for four months and it’s been a struggle. It’s so encouraging to see that the breastfeeding journey can vary from baby to baby because…😅 not sure I can do this again
I had a similar experience. First time breastfeeding hurt so bad for so many months, Second time around it’s so much easier! No struggles at all ❤
I am so happy to see that the second time around you are having a better experience and happy that breastfeeding is easier 😍🥰 Enjoy all the cuddles with your beautiful baby girl.
When baby is laying on your chest and her hair was showing it reminded me so much of my little ones full head of hair a year ago
You look so wonderful at 2 weeks out. Sleep is so hard at those early days.
My amazing baby girl is newly six months old (and walking already!?!? pls send help lmao) and breastfeeding her was SO difficult for the first month and a half. Hugely painful, challenges with her latch, etc. etc. etc….things are way better now, but I’m really hoping to avoid the hellish first few weeks the second time around whenever we decide to have another baby. So happy it is working out for you. Following your journey with Grace was super helpful for me when I was thinking about starting our family and I am glad you’re getting such a healing experience this time.
Grace is such an amazing sister. Seeing them interact fills my heart up. So glad to hear things are a bit easier this time around!
Watching this realizing how much disney has been apart of your relationship and how Alice is so you guys and the perfect name
Alice's hair seems so much darker than Grace's was. Beautiful girls!!
I’m 3 weeks pp as a first time mom and breastfeeding did not go well for me. It’s really hard to not feel mom guilt. I am exclusively pumping now but just feel like I gave up but I was in so much pain and getting no sleep
I'm also a subtitle girlie. My brain can't always register what I hear correctly so it helps
im so confused about something & have been since the last time i heard her mention something about it so i would love if someone would explain but when she talks about an ebook that she wants to read & being on a hold list for it, what's that all about?? im simply just not understanding. like i know when you want to get a specific book from the library or something something sometimes you'll have to get on a hold list for it because obviously there's only however many copies of that specific book available so you have to wait til someone else is done with it but why is that a thing for an ebook? its literally digital & id imagine there would be an endless amount of people that could read it at the same time. am i just misunderstanding something orrrr? someone please explain because its really bothering me, probably more than it should.
So so soo happy for you! I’m happy to hear this pregnancy has been a little easier on you and your body. You have a beautiful glow, everyone seems to be in a good schedule/flow and enjoying baby Alice!! 🫶🏼
it’s so nice to see this! I have a just over a 2 1/2 year old that i struggled with supply issues and now I’m having a scheduled c-section for breech baby. Thanks for your csection must haves they have been sooo helpful!
many blessings for your famly Sierra!
So glad to hear breastfeeding is going well 🫶🏾💗
Alice has a lovely head of hair. I'm going to have to go a couple years cause I can't remember if Grace did as well.
If you don’t want to pump to much and get a oversupply of milk, when breastfeeding wear a milk catcher cup on the boob that the baby dose not feed on, they can sit in the bra and its easy seamless and can catch the leakage instead of letting that go to waste you could storage that in the fridge, might save on having to pump if you don’t absolutely feel like it after every feed.
I heard that daytime breast milk is higher in cortisol and nighttime breast milk is higher in melatonin. This person labeled her pumped milk as am and pm to suit the feeds to the time of the day (and have easier nights)
Have you tried the haaka on the other breast she isn’t feeding on, to catch your let down? Or has that not worked for you all?
I am so excited for you and Stephen. Being a mom of two looks good on you!
you look pretty love her outfits she is so sweet blessed with such a beautiful family
You have a beautiful family. :)
My best friend and I had our babies two weeks apart and we would FaceTime during those night feeds so we didn’t feel so lonely!
Alice has such a beautiful head of hair!!!❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
A friend of mine has little um receptacles? That she puts on the non-feeding nipple so she can catch anything that leaks and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Seems super convenient
Does Alice feed from both sides during one feeding? If she doesn’t you could probably pump the one side she isn’t on. They also make breast pads that collects the milk you leak, that way it doesn’t go to waste
Your family is so lovely and sweet.
Alice looks EXACTLY LIKE Stephen!
Love the lounge pants
So glad all is well. I am happy to see your little family happy. Congratulations again!
Siverlettes saved my life while breastfeeding! Also thank you for showing how much you pump. I would get so discouraged when I would only get 1 oz and online women would pump so much.
That is a blessing to be able to breastfeeding. I was not able to because of my condition.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
AHHHHH BEST NOTIFICATION
The fact you have to be “on a hold list” for an online book is crazy lol
Ur hair is looking good 😊
so lucky with the positive hormones. you are truly high on baby. i was one of the lucky ones too and its awesome. congratulations!
It gives me so much hope to hear that breastfeeding is better for you this time around. I'm due with my second baby in September and am hoping to have a better breastfeeding experience this time around, as well
My 18 month old still loves a good contact nap. Being the 4th I feel like she knows that her siblings won't wake her when she's on me.
When my baby was a newborn, he was waking up literally every 90 minutes to eat 😭 this gives me hope it might not be like that the next go around lol
My son had so much trouble extracting milk when I had him. I ended up exclusively pumping. I'm praying that I can breastfeed the next baby like you!
