Hello, I am a French dairy farmer. Thank you for your work, it’s a real pleasure to see you work. It's crazy to think that everywhere in the world, we have the same methods, the same machines, etc. Tomorrow morning, up at 4am like every day. good luck to you farmers around the world ! For the girl, in french we have a beautiful flower, the Dalhia (dalia).
When I was a kid on the dairy farm, we worried about Rhinopneumonitis and Flu. This was back in the mid-1950's and bovine medicine has come a long way since then. We also fed the calves raw, unpasteurized milk that came from THEIR mothers. The post-partum cows were marked with pink paint. Our milking parlor had milkers going directly to individual cans, not pumped to a central refrigerated tank. They had to be emptied into a catch-basin that went to a cooler. Thanks for the memories. Jon Van Veldthuijzen.
Some encouragement... Your videos often have an artistic aspect, like this one with the drone footage and opening montage. You're really good at painting pictures. Storytelling is definitely one of your strengths!
Before I watched farming videos, I thought that the two busiest seasons of the farming cycle were planting and harvest times, but now I am puzzled; what are the busiest seasons, and are there any down times where farmers can rest and relax?
I love your hair! What did your mom have done? I would really love to meet her, my guess is that she is funny. I would love to meet you all! You are not alone on the listening to Christmas music now. I’ve been listening to it since the first of October!
Neline, at about 9:20 in this video you show a calf that is slightly sick. IF you put some molasses in her milk will that encourage her to drink it even if she's 'off her feed'?
Agree about halloween, just ignore it & look forward to Christmas. Do you already have a 'Duchess or 'Dutchie'' named cow?? Watching you and bro's videos from southwestern Ontario. ❤❤
Just a idea for the calfs who are suck on each other. We use to use same plastic noze pieces who you pood in to the calfs nozes that the can suck on there mom ( cow ) when we use to have calfs and no way to separated from there mom to Winning am and the work for as and the might work for you guys to .
It’s a must-do on the farm, but I won’t be showing it on TH-cam. I risk losing my whole TH-cam channel by posting stuff like that. (It goes against guidelines.)
For the group cavles on milk. Have you ever tryed to give them a paul of cold water when they are done drinking the milk to see of that would help stop them sucking on one another. Just a thought i don't know if ot helps but might be worth a try.
You need to name that aggressive calf "Baracuda". 😅. Occasionally a mother animal will reject a baby and folks wonder why. Sometimes it is because of an aggressive baby that bites.
Nadine, if you have a sick calf that has "the shits" do you not take them off milk altogether, just treat them as you were but give them just electrolytes for 24/36 hrs then half electrolytes/milk leading up to milk again? Last thing a scouring calf needs is more milk to pass thro making them more dehydrated??? Iv always done that, works well- plus I've given them what ever med, similar to prob what you were giving that calf and a shot, like 1ml of a nsad, to give them that boost to their systems. I've had calves not fed am, injected, then pm raring to go, back on track so much quicker. Just a suggestion/question??
Hi you look beautiful im speechless. Nice work on the sick calf. I dont know how many calves ive cared for but never been bit starting them on a pail. How about Diane a name for your calf. See you then have a great day.

Very interesting 🤔. Thanks for the video 😊
Will you goats be outdoors at the new farm? Might you get a farm dog to keep the goats safe from predictors while you are away working?
Neline, at about 9:20 in this video you show a calf that is slightly sick. IF you put some molasses in her milk will that encourage her to drink it even if she's 'off her feed'?
We do provide electrolytes to help them get some energy back, which does the same thing that molasses would!
