    Thanks for the video! Just wondering if it helps to put some silicon sealant along the edge of each floor sheet?

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      For what purpose? With a properly prepped surface you would struggle to peel this stuff off.

    • @darren4007
      @darren4007 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is hard to peel, does it mean it may damage fibreglass floor (if the boat is fibreglass) while the matting may need to be repaired/replaced? With the sealant it may better prevent any water go under the mat? Sorry I never do this before so just a little bit concerning.

    Great video! Very helpful. Thanks mate. One more tip. If you don’t want the aluminium showing between the gaps, you can paint the floor first in a nice contrasting colour.

    • @SteadliestCatch

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would score the surface very lightly with sand paper to remove any dirt and rough up the surface to give better adhesion. Then make sure it is clean as possible before laying the product.

    Hey man just want to say thanks for all of your reviews and thoughts on frewza boats, had been looking for ages for this kind of reviews couldn’t find anything let alone the depth you go into. I am getting a F14 beach launching dinghy I was already adding a few things to suit me half the reason I went frewza but after watching some of your content I will be emailing Frewza about the floor being flat to the pontoon. Holds up just fine, although we did end up with a few rips from transporting hunting dogs. good thing about this stuff is you can just replace panels if needed - I never did. Sold this boat now but I just did the same thing on the new one. I love the stuff

    Hi mate. Nice boat! What size outboard did you go for? I am looking at a second hand 2016 F16 on Trademe. It’s got a 60hp Honda 4 stroke. In your experience of the F16, would that be too underpowered? Usually just fish 2 of us, and all fishing and no diving gear. Cheers! Mark.

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Cheers mate! I went for a Honda 90hp 4 stroke. 60hp is 100% underpowered, the amount of people I see replacing the 60 down the track is proof enough. The 60hp is just a way of keeping the cost down from factory so it’s more affordable for buyers - something frewza is VERY good at!
      In my honest opinion I couldn’t imagine anything less than an 80hp for the F16, especially if you are adding heavy mods like bait tank, underfloor tank, thicker hull, twin batteries etc.
      You could JUST about get away with it if it was a no mod hull, in calm conditions and not loaded up at all, but it would still piss you off!

      @markhirst3888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SteadliestCatch Haha. I thought so. I was wondering why it hadn’t sold on Trademe, given the crazy boating market currently! Tossing up between a second hand 2007 Osprey 450 with 50hp Honda 4 stroke (super stable but quite narrow) or a new Senator RC500 with Yammie F90 (new and roomier, but 2.5 times the price of the Osprey). What’s your choice between these two?

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markhirst3888 I would go with the senator, the ospreys are great, solid boats and used a lot commercially down here in Tasman bay, but in my opinion their design is lagging behind the new generation of boats. @markhirst3888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SteadliestCatch I took the Osprey for a test drive out The Cut (I am in Nelson too) and it was very solid, but also admittedly very flat! I have had a Senator 580 hardtop about 10 years ago and they are great boats so I expect the RC500 would be too. The 2007 Osprey is only 20k and the Senator is in stock at a dealer new for 56.5k (it has extras like raised sides, bait board, guide poles, walk through transom, and a mid range Simrad sounder). A new and roomier boat than the Osprey but 36.5k more! Need something for fishing Stephen’s Island every now and then. Haven’t seen any other F16s for sale but were a couple for sale about a month ago but not with the right outboard.
