I’m jealous! I can’t wait for my 2025 pa12 to come in! Honestly I think there is no need for a hatch bucket with the electronic mounting plate in place.
Nice walkthrough. The reasoning for the older rear hatch is its is flatter, and more water tight by the eay it seals and mounts to deck. Also another change is the rib under the seat is now gone allowing for battery storage under seat.
The drive well insert is good to have in if you are using a motor at higher speeds. It helps keeps water being forced up the the 360 tube, which then finds it's way into the hull.
Good point, when I have a motor on I always have the pedals in too as I usually use the motor as an assist so I'm still getting at least a little exercise.
That's hilarious, I didn't even notice as I'm sitting there playing with it! I wish I had, that is actually a nice change to have in the video, in my last video where I tear down the 360 drive I even complain about having to replace those whole nose cones as they wear out.
That's good the older 360 the kickup fins won't reset properly until they wear enough to fit properly the set screw will allow the user to adjust them properly (this little frustration is the only thing I've disliked on mine) glad they fixed it.
@ I agree I like the change. I actually noticed this on some late 2024 360xr models we had in the shop. Of course my early 2024 had the metal set up. I’m excited to receive my 2025!
Great video, I'm still running a 2020 Model that I ordered as soon as it was released back in the day. Planning on upgrading after this season to a 2026 360XR. Quick question, do you know what year they upgraded the bearing etc to the 360 drive? Mine has been fine but I'm worried it's a time bomb. If I remember correctly I think the XR drives are essentially Gen 3 of the 360.
If I recall correctly it was late 2020 or early 2021 that they made the change. It was just done as a rolling change on the production floor. The only changes I've noticed on the 2025 drive are the sprocket cones were changed to use the same grub screw for kickup tension adjustment that the 180 and GT drives use which they should have done from the beginning in my opinion. I've got another video on my channel where I show tearing down one of the old drives and upgrading it to the new bigger bearings (th-cam.com/video/R5Y_MkkM_hw/w-d-xo.html), not something for the mechanically challenged but can be done.
Everything looks good, not a fan of them taking the front hatch bucket out, that’s where I store my motor battery and assorted other things I carry in there
I just can’t get down with a company that puts bandaids on their products instead of actually addressing the issues appropriately. Way better options out here for kayaks that are leaving Hobie in the dust. Only thing Hobie has going for it is the drive. Spending all that money on a kayak you have to baby so you don’t break anything or put a hole in something is silly to me. You Hobie guys are loyal to a fault and more importantly Hobie is not reciprocating that loyalty. Have fun with your bandaids.
Have you ever tried one? Not sure what you are talking about saying you have to baby them or worry about putting a hole in them, neither is the case. I have yet to see another kayak with the maneuverability of the Pro Angler 360's. I was without one for a few months when I sold it to get this new one and was sorely missing it while using my other kayak.
Yes I have tried them several times and like I said the performance isn’t the issue it’s the integrity of the hull and instead of fixing it properly they put bandaids on it. Do your proper research my man.
@@aaronstaydohar8400 I'm going to guess I'm a little more in touch with things related to Hobie that you are are. I've sold over a 1000 and have been selling, using, repairing and doing installs on them for more than 5 years. Have I had some with issues, sure, no product is perfect. Is it a big problem? No, only a very small percentage of them have had issues.
Come on man either you don’t want to upset Hobie I get it that’s your moneymaker or you don’t live in reality brother because there’s been more that a few hull failures. Ever ask yourself why old town or bonafide never had these issues. And instead of fixing the issue they put extra support plates in and called it good aka bandaids. So far you haven’t said anything of substance. Would you accept that from a car manufacturer or anything else for that matter.
The Hobie Power Wall is a great feature..... I hope they sell a lot of them. ;)
Did they get it from you?

Put the front bucket back as well as all the other deleted things.
PUT THEM BACK!

Forgot about the battery under the seat, I'll have to see if my battery box actually fits under there, not sure if it will!

@kevinredden6632 If I'm going for a longer distance, I will pull the drive and throw the plug in. When I get to my spot, I put the drive back in.
Also the kick up fin booms changed to plastic because they now use the set screws like the 180 drives.

@@SteegeFish Nice, none of our '24's that I've set up have had the change yet, still have a couple to go.
