Your final story (that you told before about being called to meet for lunch just to be told you he cheated on you) reminded me of this time I was about 24ish? I was seeing a guy still in college. I went to hang out with him before Thanksgiving break (sooo, hella cold outside on the east coast), and he took me through the woods to just look out over this one hill and talk. ...seemed nice and loving before a break. But instead he just started berating me. He said that I seemed fragile and weak, was looking for someone to "fix me", I don't respect myself, he pities me, doesn't know why I'm here or would come back to college, and he just thought it was fun to see how far he could lead me down this path.
I was so STUNNED and in literal shock. I was the one who'd been putting the brakes on the whole time bc I wasn't sure I even wanted a relationship at the time, just a friend, and now I was just being verbally torn to SHREDS and made to seem like I was pining after him and throwing myself at him, just to be fixed. My eyes even started to water, but it was mostly bc it was so blistering cold outside, and my eyes were like frozen open in shock....but the moment he saw them water, he just like, laughed and shook his head. Then, goes "wait right here" and started to walk back to the wood line...and I ACTUALLY thought he was gonna go back to his bookbag he sat back there to maybe get a blanket or something bc I was shakingggg cold. ...and then come back to have an actual conversation.
Nope.
*HE ABANDONED ME IN THE WOODS*
He just walked away and walked back to his truck. And it wasn't a good one, so I could kinda hear it start in the distance. So I realized after all that time that I was standing there waiting -- shivering cold and scarred emotionally -- that he actually told me TO WAIT THERE, just to leave me there, KNOWING I WOULDN'T KNOW HOW TO GET BACK. There wasn't a trail or a path. He led me to this point. I had to try to walk back all on my own.
It. was. horrible. He's a literal sadist.
