FiercenessTrainer & Jockey planned strategy deserve a lot of credit. Boxed in the filly down backstretch forcing her wide on last turn.
Fierceness was 4 wide on the 1st turn and 3 wide on the 2nd turn. Gave up at least 5-6 lengths of ground loss while she hugged the rail. Best horse won and the tiny bit of loss she suffered swinging out at the conclusion of the 2nd turn was not close to the ground loss Fierceness gave up running wide around both turns. People are trying to pretend she lost 5 lengths by slightly swinging out around a couple horses, NOT! Best horse won, while also conceding 5 lbs to her.

I'll be the first to eat crow... Thorpedo Anna... WOW. She's an absolute monster. These boys brought out the best in her. Fierceness showed again why he should be considered the star of the 3 year olds, hopefully these back to back races help him pick up the consistency... but Thorpedo Anna is an absolute missile. I know they've already said she wasn't running the Classic in November, but I'd kill to see her at the Breeder's Cup against these boys again. She's my current pick for horse of the year.

The first half me split was the filliy's undoing.... and around the turn Weider Rider didn't move just a little bit early and gain a position on the inside of fierceness so he didn't have to go around coming into the lane

I know fierceness is a very good race horse but I was really rooting for door knock unfortunately it wasn't to be but I feel after today watching torpedo Anna that she has to be horse of the year 20 more feet and she won that race and she went up against the boys and none of the girls can beat her I really feel she's got the championship

Sierra Leone ran nice, set up to have his race, until those two short steps. I'll bet you Flavin felt that and just let him run within himself he got 3rd of a $1.5M purse. Why beat him he couldn't catch Fierceness and Grizzly. And the rest of the field wasn't going to catch him.
Go back and watch, as they straighten out of the turn SL on the outside there are two distinct short strides. Hugs a bit then runs again.

Torpedoanna lost because of B Hernandez. When Hernandez started to use the whip in deep stretch she was gaining on Fierceness with every stride and would have won convincingly if Hernandez would have started moving sooner. He’s an average jockey at best.

Just can't seem to pass the leaders. Gets to them and I don't if he hangs but doesn't seem to have that grit where a horse just digs in and wins. One of best horses that just can't get the big one.
