Hats off to that team piece of crap team suck She let him win little longer she blows by him so does Sierra Leone Ther both better than that Overated inconsistent Jekyll and Hyde horse
This race was actually very easy to handicap. Majority of these horses ran 9 furlongs in the past and Thorpedo Anna and Fierceness had the 2 fastest times of this group at that distant by a significant margin.
Thorpedo Ana ran the best race in the Travers. She was able to close ground in a few strides, after being behind by a couple of lengths, while Fierceness was all out to hang on to the win. He most likely is not a true distance route runner but had the perfect trip. The announcer also seemed to not see Thorpedo Ana at the outset down the stretch; instead he focused on Sierra Leone's closing strides. TA made the bold move at the end when she was able to make up a couple of lengths to catch Fierceness at the wire. Unlike Sierra Leone, and despite running near the top tier throughout the race, she was the only one who made up serious ground at the wire.
@@YouDontKnow-that As I recall, she was in the top or near the top tier of horses throughout; Fierceness was wide but had a clear path. He wins only with trips like these; no real speed to challenge. AT didn't have the best trip but to her credit or, more reflecting Fierceness not wanting the distance, she made up a lot of ground and nearly caught F. at the wire. If Fierceness runs in the Classic and there are other horses that can carry speed at a distance, hard to see him win. He may be a better fit running in the Mile; but that is where National Treasure is running.

Never doubt his ability to beat this field. Unquestionably the most talented of this crop. My question was whether or not he could get the distance. There’s a lot of City Of Light and Quality Road in him that was telling the answer was no but glad he showed he can and on top of talent also has guts. Really doubt he can win the BC Classic but shouldn’t have no problem with the Penn Derby if they point him into that direction.
@@RonaldRobert-xd6of I wouldn’t run him in the Classic but Mike R it’s a competitor and he’ll send him there against his trainer’s wishes. Wouldn’t be surprised if he wins it too but I really doubt anyone can beat Arthur Ride at this moment.
Torpedo anna is the real champion 3 years old. she was close at the rail but when room opened, she actually showed how better she is than anybody alse.
@@YouDontKnow-that I probably said that out of disappointment in the horse. On my TH-cam channel, I called him special and selected him in the Derby. He ran great but lost. It seems he has regressed in subsequent races. Maybe he wants to do something else? Like longer, or turf? Thankfully, his connections can be patient and lets hope we see great results from him in the future.
@@FastHorsesToday Could be anything. Distance (although 10F is the furthest G1 dirt distance). Could be horrible "luck". Could be jockey. Could be he's not fast enough to be closer to the pace so he's got too much catching up to do at top of stretch. The thing is, he's as consistent as any horse out there. He's right there nearly ever race. So, it's not that he isn't good. Which horse is "better"? Horse A: 1st, 8th, 1st, 5th, 2nd, 9th, 1st, 1st, 4th, 1st or Horse B: 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd" ? Asumming they are all in races with the same level of competition. Imagine if a horse had a line like this: 32 total races, 0-32-0. What would society say? I know that's a silly stat line, virtually impossible, lets say that included the following races: Dirt Juvenile, Southwest, Rebel, Florida Derby, Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont, Haskell, Whitney, Travers, Breeders Cup Classic, Dubai World Cup, Saudi Cup, Pegasus Cup, then he continued to get 2nd in those same age-eligible races at 4 and age 5. (So like 3 times in row, 2nd place in BCC, Dubai, Saudi, Jocky Pegasus).. Would he be considered to be one of the best horses ever? Did things no other horse has came close to doing, YET....never won a race. LOL. Interesting debate.
Nice win for Fierceness but he is not necessarily the champion 3 years old already. Dornoch also have 2 grade 1 wins as 3 years old. the breeders' cup classic will be the one to decide the outcome. Sierra Leone doesn't have any claim on this title, he might be a champion as 4 years old.
Ran out of track? The race is 10 furlongs. Had the race been longer, Fierceness jockey wouldn't have let his horse go until later in the race. So you're saying if this was a 6F race, that Dornoch wins? (he was in the lead at 6F)
Big time race from both, especially the filly for being so valiant the whole way. It was her best race yet. However, Fierceness DID begin to falter there late. His stride noticeably shortens and he comes back to her a bit. It gives the illusion that she grinded into a better gear but she did no such thing. Fierceness didn’t love the 10F. It’s that simple. Sierra Leone is an absolute enigma. He was a length back and the horse is always right there at the wire with a TERRIBLE running style for this company. He’s the most talented 3YO, but Chad and company can’t figure out how to deal with this horse to prevent these ground losing, veering, weird trips. Therefore, he’s just not at the racing level of Fierceness, Dornoch, OR Anna. He still has maturing to do. Ran his balls off again though. Dornoch’s race is a complete toss. Heavy diarrhea immediately after the race, automatic toss. Nice rendition of the Travers.
So, should her next race, be back against fillies? Or does she keep racing against males & maybe Breeders Cup Classic. Of course, if she stays healthy, keeps weight on, etc. She’s already 3 year old fillly Champion, right? Or does she need to race against older fillies/ mares? Which frankly, they’re beating each other. Just a conversation, McPeek is a masterful trainer!
My opinion Fierceness didn't win got lucky Longer race he's done tired isnt the word She would of swallowed him up n Sierra Leone would of got 2nd Longer race he wouldn't had a chance I'm not a fan at all of him He's so overrated about time he won 2 in a row just barely he's no champion to me Torpedo Anna would of beat him by few lengths Sierra Leone I think the jockey has to make his move sooner He's spotting all the other horses over ten lengths n still hits the board every time I'm not giving up on Sierra Leone He will prevail n I hope his odds are big He's to good to give up on Maybe Brown should go BK to Tyler Gafflione. But Prat is one of the best Not sure what can be done
Why would there ever be a longer race for Fierceness. He just won at THE classic distance. The filly was the only other good horse in the field. Thank the Lord Kenny decided to run her here she was outstanding. And Sierra Leone is an overrated trifecta merchant and it’s now been proven more than thrice over. He was just passing tiring horses as usual
Longer race? That makes no sense. You're saying that since TA was closing, that "If the race were longer...." So you're saying that if the race was 1/4 mile that Batten Down wins, 1/2 Mile Batten Down wins and 3/4 of a mile that Dornoch wins? 🤣 Horse racing doesn't work that way. I assume you're a newbie?
The finish line is the finish line! "Coulda, woulda, shoulda" accomplishes nothing. I'll bet that Thorpedo Anna is one tired filly right now, as are the others, but Fierceness ran a tougher race and gave her five pounds, and that can make a tremendous difference. I'm a huge fan of TA but the best race I've seen in years was won by a colt that really tried and was successful because of it.
Thorpedo Anna lost the race thru poor judgement of her jockey should have had her closer to Fierceness at the top of the stretch that is where most race begin not the starting stalls but the top of the stretch as all are positioned to sprint for the winning post end of story
And I hear people say riders don't make a difference??? Well, right here, the rider made the difference . Johnny v took the opportunity to ask fiercenes to move early on a slow(er) pace and called right . If Brian asked his filly at the same time, the race would have been won the filly . I also believe that if Irad had put his horse with speed closer to pace, that horse would have also been better off. All in all when ""they"" say rider's don't make a difference we can see here it made all the difference!! Still a good race from the lone filly

lol get a grip man it's not luck. the jockeys pace their horse to get exactly the distance they need. if it's a longer race the jockeys run it differently.
So you're saying that if the race was 1/4 mile that Batten Down wins? 1/2 Mile Batten Down wins? And 3/4 of a mile that Dornoch wins? Horse racing doesn't work that way. They don't just start running as fast as they can out of the gate and let their speed carry them as far as will then fade. You're acting like that is what happened to Fierceness. I assume you're a newbie. I'll explain. You use your horse strategically and try to get to the finish line first. That's what Fierceness and his jockey did. You don't "save enough in the gas tank to be running late and come up short so you can say gee whiz if only the race were longer". Sorry. Not how it works.
I think she carries 5 .lbs less than the Boys. So if she carried the same weight.... She wouldn't have that " Giddy-Up & Go " & Fierceness wins easier.
@@janetcameron4743 she had more in her tank at the end..... Cause she carried 5 .lbs Less ! If it had been 6 Furlongs- not as much of a difference. This 1 Mile 1/4 🤔

Every single time that race is rerun I dnt think TA will get any closer than she did. U switch TA and fierceness barriers around and I think it’s a 4length romp for fierceness. And I dnt think TA would even finish 2nd
I'm starting to think Sierra Leone needs to consider longer races.
Time to admit he’s overrated
Overrated? He consistently hits the board. His dad did the same and matured nicely. @ezequielcrespofigueroa2047
@@khunterkid nobody questions his ability to hit the board. But the expectation it’s to always win and he consistently fails to deliver. Today was yet again the favorite and again fell short. And he was favorite to finally beat this group it was now or never but nobody can’t even say he was lugging to his inside. He ran straight the whole stretch and couldn’t get to the top 2 finishers. And looking at the finish I really doubt he would of catch Fierceness with another 100 mts
I think they need to drop him in class, get a win, then can move back up for breeders classic. Maybe even think turf with his running style? He is trained by Chad Brown.
@@jamesmatthews3964 with his price tag I really doubt they’ll do that.
Fierceness number one ❤ horse in USA
Fierceness finally puts 2 in row to deny me at the wire...TP is a beast to lose to the champ by a diminishing head...hats off to repole telling Pletcher we're in...
Hats off to that team piece of crap team suck She let him win little longer she blows by him so does Sierra Leone Ther both better than that Overated inconsistent Jekyll and Hyde horse
@@frankdeangelo6327 looked like zenyattas only loss..yea, I get it
@@frankdeangelo6327 If it's longer she wins? So...if the race was 1/4 or 1/2 mile, then Batten Down wins? LOL.
@@frankdeangelo6327 You mad? LOL. She got beat by a horse than ran 3-wide on both turns. LOL. She's overrated.
Brian Hernandez fined $1250 and suspended 1 day for violating HISA’s crop rule. Not a big fan of the rule but how hard is it to count to 6.
This race was actually very easy to handicap. Majority of these horses ran 9 furlongs in the past and Thorpedo Anna and Fierceness had the 2 fastest times of this group at that distant by a significant margin.
so how come you're down 100k for life ?
Thorpedo Ana ran the best race in the Travers.
She was able to close ground in a few strides, after being behind by a couple of lengths, while Fierceness was all out to hang on to the win. He most likely is not a true distance route runner but had the perfect trip. The announcer also seemed to not see Thorpedo Ana at the outset down the stretch; instead he focused on Sierra Leone's closing strides. TA made the bold move at the end when she was able to make up a couple of lengths to catch Fierceness at the wire. Unlike Sierra Leone, and despite running near the top tier throughout the race, she was the only one who made up serious ground at the wire.
huh? She got beat by a horse than ran 3 wide on both turns.

They did, and it was the best race of the year!
Very nice horses
Sierra Leon, please stop giving up so much ground. Can you for once run less total distance?
I honestly wouldn’t be afraid to send Anna after boys as a 4yo if she checks out all right
Looked like Zenyattas only lose...a diminished head...201 change is good time...
If they kepp him running as a older horse, Fierceness can be the next Cigar, he reminds me of him
they don't breed horses to race anymore. they are raced to be bred.
Wish TA would've won repole is such a clown
The "real" fierceness
Never doubt his ability to beat this field. Unquestionably the most talented of this crop. My question was whether or not he could get the distance. There’s a lot of City Of Light and Quality Road in him that was telling the answer was no but glad he showed he can and on top of talent also has guts. Really doubt he can win the BC Classic but shouldn’t have no problem with the Penn Derby if they point him into that direction.
Race didn't go as planned
Guarantee he doesn't finish 1-2-3-4 in the classic
@@RonaldRobert-xd6of I wouldn’t run him in the Classic but Mike R it’s a competitor and he’ll send him there against his trainer’s wishes. Wouldn’t be surprised if he wins it too but I really doubt anyone can beat Arthur Ride at this moment.
@@RonaldRobert-xd6ofdo you think SL will run in the classic?
Torpedo anna is the real champion 3 years old. she was close at the rail but when room opened, she actually showed how better she is than anybody alse.
Why is she the "real" champ? Is the real champ somehow correlated to getting 2nd place?
Track Announcer: Frank Mirahmadi calling his 2nd Travers.
Sierra Leone can look forward to the Jerkins race at GP at 2 miles.
😂😂😂😂😂
Why would you say that? What makes you think further distance would help?
My goodness
Johnny V is the best!
The Filly ran out of track, 1 more stride and she’s a winner! Awesome race!
Could Fierceness and Thorpedo Anna breed a super horse?
Going wide on the turn cost Anna the win. She was the best horse in the race.
Huh? So her going wide 1 turn cost her the race, but Fierceness going wide on BOTH turns didn't cost him the race? Your math ain't mathin'.
She's not facing males again, at least not this year anyways. Her next race is the Cotillion in September, with aim on the BC Distaff
Maybe in 5 years TA first filly of Fierness.
ever listen to greg wolf ? talks like he takes it where the
Chad Brown needs to make a jockey change, SL is always running at the end, I blame the jockey
Anna pide a gritos otro jockey.
I would have run torpedo anna in the breeders' cup classic and not the breeders' cup distaff, she proved she can beat all the good male horse.
Sierra leone just doesn't know how to win it seems
He knows how 2 burn money tho 😂💯
City of Troy will totally destroy all of these lot in the B.C Classic.
It'll be neigh bother for him at all...
Longer race? It’s a mile and a quarter
She was ridden abit off time... she would have won if sent sooner..two more jumps is all it needed
Sierra Leone peaked in the spring , oily chad brown made a mistake taking off tyler also.
His two daughters seem to be spoiled cee u next tuesdays.
Not cool making assumptions about kids over a few one minute horse racing interviews.

You mad bro?
TP was to carry same weighr as Fr would win by larger margin
lol get a grip man it's not luck. the jockeys pace their horse to get exactly the distance they need. if it's a longer race the jockeys run it differently.
