CB125F Air Box Modification

  • It turns out I didn't need to pull the tank off to do this, but it was one of the things I wanted to figure out how to do on my 2023 Honda CB125F.
    It also turns out I didn't need to remove the air box for this modification either, but again, I did it just so I could teach myself how.
    Not that I'm going to recommend anyone else to do this, my first impressions of this modification are undeniably positive and I would 100% do it again.

    So your getting around 8kph extra thats 5mph extra everwhere you go thats good going bro

  • @caveyful
    @caveyful หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    To get an extra 8% top speed would mean it's making 16% more power!

  • @caveyful
    @caveyful หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I think thats the backfire screen - to prevent a backfire blowing the air filter off it's seal. It's commonly used as a choke point to lower noise emissions, which looks to be the case. Often bikes are made to pass the country with the most stringent international emissions where the bike will be sold, and also with some overlap to futureproof the bike.
    U might want to try remodeling the snorkel into a wider or more funnel shape or even remove it to see what effect it has, which might yield even more power.
    It should be running richer now so it would be interesting to know if fuel consumption has increased.

    • @Motorizedstuff
      @Motorizedstuff หลายเดือนก่อน

      It won't be richer it will be running leaner with more air and still the same amount of petrol it will pull abit more through the carb as it can breathe more easily now

      I just mean the sensors will detect more air and compensate by giving more fuel.

    Next thing you should do is get a less restrictive exhaust

      @@stephanopapadimitriou4789 I've actually tried but the one I ordered didn't fit the engine and the only actual aftermarket exhaust I can find is Black Widow from the UK, but the cost of shipping almost doubles the cost. I've thought about going to an exhaust shop to get a custom job done, but I still need to save up before I can do that. At least I've still got the slip on exhaust from the one that didn't fit

      @@NicksBikes That's always best L0L. I seriously think there should be a batter cheaper way to install the delivery box on it because I see those poor riders carrying that gigantic hot box on their shoulders while riding. I tried from a guy once and believe me it's really not very safe.

    So now your Honda meets both criteria. When you need to go somewhere, and you want to go somewhere, the trusty Honda CB125F can do BOTH ! would you agree ?

      Nick, this will amuse you, light aircraft with piston engines, use a fuel with an octane rating of at least 100
      A 50/50 blend of avgas and standard 95 octane petrol. 😂
      Food for thought !
      So how does one get one's hands on light a/craft fuel ? Only need 5 litres of it.
      I post this only in jest. 😂

      Back in the days of "first cars" a mate of mine was driving a HQ and claimed it was running on aviation fuel. He also claimed it was a V8 but it was a straight piped 202. Kids are dumb 🤣

  • @ripmax333

    What you removed is what they call the spark arrester Hopefully this little Honda will never hiccup and back fire burning the paper filter 😅...well this rarely happens. Did you tested the fuel economy? Did it get worse or not so much of a difference.

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really don't think it affected the economy for better or worse.
      Honestly, I'd be impressed with the bike if it held a backfire spark live long enough to travel through the intake tube, through the airbox and into the filter! I genuinely don't think it's as much of an issue of being a "spark arrestor" as it is noise control or some EPA BS. If air filters catching fire was such a common problem, pod filters wouldn't be so popular, I think

    • @ripmax333
      @ripmax333 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NicksBikes these type of accidents I saw them happen on Enduro bikes but so far never heard that a common road bike catched fire because of a spark arrester deletion,...so yeah, I think it's all EPA bullshit😅.
