My banshee has a slight growl that started after a ride, still runs fine, would it make sense to just put new crank bearings on? Or should I replace the whole crank?

you need to inspect the crank and make a decision based on condition.

nice. i done had new cranks where the seals that go over the crank bearings in the middle rip apart and they sell the seals but no way on how to get them back on. ever run into that problem?

You must be talking about the o rings for the middle bearings? If so, you CAN replace those by very carefully stretching them over the crank web and up around the rod. They will be maybe a little loose when you first get them on the bearing but let them sit for a while and they will settle right into place. We have done this many times. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to Marty at the shop. 541 419-6054 👍👍

Was riding today when I heard some nasty noises, and the engine wasn’t running right. Down on power, sluggish down low, popping and cutting out in mid range. Went back to my truck to swap plugs but then it wouldn’t start at all afterwards. So I pulled the flywheel cover and kicked the starter a few times. All sorts of wobbly flywheel movements! I can move the flywheel up and down by hand 😭 I’m sure the bearing(s) are shot. Probably only 20-30 hours on this crank. I might try this to revive it!! Tempted to get a 4mil stroker kit tho too

Do you have to use feeler gauge to see if its properly balanced after install or no?

You use a dial indicator to check the crank before installation.

If you have to split the Crankshaft and Replace all the bearings its not worth the time and money you should just buy a new crankshaft.
