Your insights are so exceptional. I've learnt a lot from your exeperience, especially the challenges. I feel salvage vehicles are over-priced, considering common damage types, mileage, etc. Adding site fees, haulage, shipping, etc, blow costs over the roof. Curious on your BHPH deals if you don't mind me asking, gone are the days of 10-12 years ago buying a car for $500 to $1,200 and getting the entire amount down and just financing the profit/repairs. How much do typically let out on the street on an average deal?
I actually still get cars repaired all in for $1500 but we usually try to get about 50% of what I’m into them down and the other 50% within the first six months that is my formula that use
@@LuckyLopez777 Thanks for the pointers, excellent tip of keeping a shorter term. Worked for a non franchised sub prime and BHPH store in the late 90's and they financed 12 months, the cars didn't last and their BHPH business cost them to go out of business. Back then we used Key Bank, Mercury Finance, and in house.
The reason why the auction is so expensive now is because of the shoulder bidders and curbsiders. The youtubers rebuilding cars and showing it on TH-cam has been inflating prices, and these brokers let’s them into the Manheim and Adesa auctions.
It’s the complete opposite ever since Nextgear and AFC. Started giving out credit lines to new dealers that are dumb. They over bid. Where. Most of the smart dealers use cash and only bid up too MMR.

NorCalMike Being a wholesaler is the best way to get into the car business with extremely low overhead I personally don’t work with wholesalers here in Vegas because they usually want more than retail for their cars and they usually sell stuff that’s broken and damaged and try to hide things so as long as you’re honest and upfront and you tell the dealers what’s wrong with the cars you have good success with building relationships with dealers

Toast - very informative vid!
Hi Automotive Life I have a quick question. Just curious to know . Btw i'm from India. So, is it possible for me to buy used and salvage cars from auction as a student coz I m in collg ryt now
Curious on your BHPH deals if you don't mind me asking, gone are the days of 10-12 years ago buying a car for $500 to $1,200 and getting the entire amount down and just financing the profit/repairs.
That is true. A friend of mine just started a dealership, asked AFC for 50K from his 5 car lot and they just gave it to him.
@@Nahiyanize We had a guy with a 610 credit score and $500 in the bank. Go to Nextgear they gave him $400k. With 0 experience as a dealer it’s crazy.
I just hate the fact that auctions are selling cars more expensive than dealers and people are still buying them like candy
auctions are building the hype up and MMR is way up so dealers think they are justified by paying over mmr lol. its a scary cycle
Really good video plase keep them coming so interesting
Thanks Brett. We appreciate it. More videos on the way 😁
Someone is getting my leased 2013 KIA Optima that the finance company repossessed.

Do you work with wholesale dealers? I was going to start out with a wholesale license. I can find deals all day long in the SF bay area Craigslist. Even a of my personal cars are one owner cars I bought cheap. I just wonder if there's enough meat on the bone.
@@LuckyLopez777 Thanks Lucky! I figure I'm better off selling good cars and building solid relationships over dishonest profits. I'm ok with making less. I just love buying cars! I guess that's how I ended up with 7 of my own
what wesite are you using..?
