Suffolk is a gorgeous breed. Jim of working horses with Jim" has three beautiful Suffolks. They are doing very well with their training. Thank you for sharing this video.
Dave, thank you so very much taking the time to film, edit & share. So much information here... both video & comments. Your videos get my heart every time ❤
Magnificent horses! Grace with omnipotent power, should be respected. Its a good thing they are not preened for showing only. Working them is the key. Its kind of cruel to keep a horse like these without some work. Important, is plenty if time & space (Shade too) to let them be horses. I admire and respect anyone who has the dedication to look after these horses properly, as its not an easy lifestyle choice.
I think he was actually there, I believe John Hammond is his name. He’s had Suffolks up there for 38 years he said. Very nice gentleman, down to earth. Thx for watching! Dave
I'm a suburbanite and unable to get to shows like this. I really appreciate that you took the time and effort to post this video. Beautiful horses, and excellent horsemanship. Made my morning today to be able to see these lovely horses!❤
Great video Dave, a shame some owners dont give their horses a wash and brush up for a show but there were some good displays. Generally Suffolks are known to be cheaper to keep than most drafts which makes them popular, its a shame more people dont put the effort in to register them which is the life of any endangered breed, they are like hens teeth over here with only a few known breeders but there it is. It looks like you enjoyed your time there and thanks for taking the time and effort. Regards Alan from the UK.
Hey Alan, yes it was a fun trip. Anytime you get to visit with other draft folks it’s nice. The North American Society and British Society don’t see eye to eye on everything for some reason. There are many more here than there for sure but my understanding is if a registered horse comes to USA from England, it immediately goes into registration status but the opposite is not the same. If a registered gets shipped there, it has to go 5 generations deep before it’s eligible to be registered there. Makes no sense but I’ve been told there are continuing efforts to get everyone more aligned to help the breed. Have a great day! Dave
It verifies if your hoof is cut evenly across and also that your sole is deep enough. If shoe rest on sole in one area, it creates a hot spot and is uncomfortable for horse. Just a good visual indication. Thx for watching! Dave
@@bdradley1 Oh that makes perfect sense. Thank you for the information... Can I ask you one more question? Another guy just bought a Pioneer cart and has never owned one before. Can I give him your contact info in order for him to ask questions? I understand if you rather not. Thank you. Have a great day.
@@l-bird absolutely, my email is in description or davidbradley@ymail.com he can email anytime. I’ll be stopping by pioneer 2nd week of October as well as E Z Trail. Thx for watching! Dave

Beautiful Draft Horses. I'm curious what burning the horse shoe onto the horse hoof does. Does it give them more traction? Thanks, nice video.
