Hi I'v come from the 5d mk4 and I liked using my exposure lock with auto ISO and it stayed on with no problem for 30 minutes max, if I was in a certain position say using the ground in front of me or a wall and I was + 1 stop and using the DOF button to lock and unlock my exposure. it was easy just to point unlock and relock as the light changed. I knew if a bird flew past a place from say sky down past the trees my exposure would be right. but I dont seam to be able to lock the exposure on my R5 Mk2 and keep it as it just keeps turning itself off.
You refer to a warning about impact on AF performance if you turn on the blackout free display or depth of filed simulation. I don't get them and don't see them in the manual. What do you refer to?
I'm glad you enjoyed the gray foxes. I was super lucky to have stumbled upon them this Year. Yes, Canon needs to quiet this fake shutter noise down even more. I don't think that would be very difficult for them to do, but I won't hold my breath :-)
Hi! focus type? Which exact screen are you talking about? Also, make sure you are in manual mode and not program or any other automatic modes. Just push the "mode" button down and select manual from the screen.
AF operation/area 1/7, AF Operation is SERVO, and AF Area is completely blank. Yes, I am in Manual mode. Perhaps I need to send the camera in to be looked at
Great. If you haven't already, there is a firmware update on the Canon website that you should install. Yes, if that happens again, I would send it in to get checked.
I loved the tip about pressing the rate button and using the dials to change the height and width of the AF zones! Super cool!
Thanks a lot for this video. I really need it. I will take the time to watch it tomorrow morning with a coffee and a notebook. Looking forward

Once again, thank you for these videos. I hope it does not hurt your metrics that I watch it in chunks.
You are most welcome! That's probably the best way to do it, watch it in chunks :-)

I'm so impressed 1:23:39 with the foxes but the main thing is do canon listen to you ? well if not they should 🤔🤔🤔

On my R5 Mark II, AF Area section on the menu will not display the focus type. It’s blank.

Did a factory reset and that resolved the issue.

Was excited to watch your review the commercial interrupted within about 20 seconds of your review. So that's pretty much me out...
