NTSC-J version played on N64
Some really rough levels (Clown Valley, Erars Lake, Dark Prison, Cool Cave and Eye Snake, just to name a few), but still a nice improvement. Might keep running this for the rest of the month to see if I can push it a bit lower. Pretty satisfied with getting 1:21 in such a short time though. - เกม

This soundtrack had no business going this hard. I still remember playing this as a kid, I struggled with every boss. Then I played it like 3 or 4 years ago and it was much easier than I remembered lol. Memories. Thanks for making this speed run great work!!!

Man I love this game ! it brings back so many good memories . One of the best gaming soundtracks imo, both engaging and relaxing at the same time.

This was an awesome way to have a little nostalgia trip on this cloudy day. This game is amazing. A remake or remaster would be incredible but probably will never happen. The soundtrack lives rent free in my head forever too.

The scoring system is different for JP versions I assume? As a kid I remember having to fully clear levels to get a 5 ranking
Yes, the US/PAL versions have higher point requirements and many other changes (see link in description).
Imagine being nitros and doing the same uppercut just to get hit by a bomb everytime

I noticed that you drop bombs a lot when you jump. Is that just a thing you like to do? Or is there some kind of frame/animation thing that you benefit from?
Dropping a bomb in mid-air (or on a slope) helps accelerating Bomberman to max speed. It also pushes you forward a little when walking off a ledge.
@@Myslicore I figured it was something like that. I guess it is comparable to Kazooie's short jumps while Talon Trotting.

Correct, the US/PAL versions have tons of small changes like that, making them quite a bit harder (see link in description).
I still don't get why the JP version has lower score requirements for each stage than the US version. Also the bosses all take less hits to defeat.

What's with placing bombs down in certain places that don't seem to hit anything? Is it some kind of a speed boost?
