When I lived in Beijing in 2006, I went to a state sponsored dinner and was interviewed for Chinese TV. I thought I talked about how I liked the history and enjoyed visiting all the ancient buildings because we don't have anything like them in the US. Later, I was given a copy of the video, but they had someone do a voiceover of my comments. Apparently, what I really said was that China was a great place, it was better than the US and I wanted to live there forever.

@@belgarath6508 Yes, I don't doubt there's info caught in the dragnet but there's nothing like the social credit system. Have you ever been to Wyoming? There aren't cameras anywhere except maybe the bigger towns (there aren't really any "cities" unless you count 55k living in one place a "city"). I suppose the interstate highways also have cameras, cameras normally just monitored by the WYDOT for traffic and transportation issues, that could be used by the feds if they needed to follow someone.
It really comes down to how information is weaponized too. I can be some insane weapons hording maniac that talks shit about the federal government openly. Unless I make a credible threat, even if I'm known by the feds and they have a detailed file on me, guess what happens? Nothing. Try doing that in China and see how long you last before getting disappeared at 3AM.

@@KharlHungus I'm saying it's the complete opposite of China. It's way too rural and there are almost no cameras aside from the major highways (which are used for legitimate purposes). And the Chinese around me would suddenly stop talking for a moment, and one of them would ask, in Chinese, whoever there had the most dealings with me if they were SURE I didn’t speak any chinese. In 2009 I spent 2 weeks in China to adopt my son. In Wuhan, I had a very odd encounter with a young man that spoke perfect english. He tried to convince me to deviate from my plans and go with him. I refused and walked away from him. From that point, I didn't communicate with anyone that wasn't necessary to complete that portion of the adoption. The next town I was in to finalize the adoption for the US side, I found a small playground for my son to play at. The first day there a cop walked up to me and we started talking. He also spoke perfect english. I went to that park daily to let my son burn off some energy. I was there at different times of the day. But each time, that same cop was there. Didn't take long to figure that out. I assumed he was there to spy on me and get as much info from me as possible. I thought my background as an Army vet (combat arms with sec clearance and a cop for over a decade at that point). Anyway, I played along with him so my son could play there. The last time I saw him, He was getting kind of pushy and asking me questions about what I thought of the U.S.. I was well aware of what he was doing. So I steered the conversation back to the Chinese Govt and life there. I admit, this guy got under my skin so I got a bit lippy with him. I brought up the topic of free speech and our ability to open speak negatively of our govt. He immediately told me that they couldn't do that. I responded by saying that anyone who does that there would end up standing in front of a T59 tank in Tianeman Sq.! Oh he got pissed! He dropped his nice act, took a step toward me and stopped. Being a cop myself, I could tell that he wanted to put hands on me, but stopped. Well, after that I took my son and went back to the hotel. I never went back to that playground. Knowing we we leaving 1 day later, I only went where I was supposed to and didn't stray from the group of other adoptive families! I will never go back to that country. Absolutely hated that place.

He and Insat down and the lady that owned the place came to our table and asked who he belonged to (because I’m white and he is Chinese). I told her that he is my son and we adopted him from China. She immediately responded by saying “what’s wrong with him”. I grabbed my son and left.

@@jeremyblanton1445 I cannot deny a lot chinese families want healthy babies, who dosent ?But sometimes there's also a factor of medical costs, especially when everything burns out and its still not enough. For the poor families, choose between a new member and all the saving, literally everything because china dosent have a welfare system, its a very hard decision. Some of them choose to give up the new born babies with disabilities or birth problems to give them a better chance for life. I think the traditional Chinese idea of " the perfectness" plays some factors but not all. Don't forget, there's also time in the US history, some parents
had no choice but to sell their children, it is the Great Depression. I meaning no offense, just to compare so you know humanity is actually not that far than you think it is.

    • @jeremyblanton1445
      @jeremyblanton1445 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

@@lulubumon I understand that. Hard times makes for hard choices. I have no problem with that. If you're life will never be adequate to take on the responsibilities of raising a child, and you know it. It's the right decision. I'm not faulting anyone for that. And yes, I realize that many Chinese families make this decision. I'm referring to the parents who have a healthy child, but the child isn't "normal" or "perfect" who literally dump the child and try again. Example, my son was born deaf. His biological parents abandoned him in public, near a Buddhist temple (a couple hours outside of Wuhan) when he was 10 months old. I can tell you that 10 months is the approximate time that most parents begin to suspect the child may have hearing issues. That is the exact time that my wife and I began to suspect our oldest daughter was deaf.
They abandoned him at 10 moths, suspect he was deaf, with zero communication skills in the streets. That is some cold hearted crap. They threw him away in a public street.
Thankfully the police found him and he lived in a police station for 3 days while they tried to locate his parents.
After giving up on that, they paced him in an orphanage. He bounced around to multiple orphanages and foster homes until, about 2 1/2 years later, we brought him home.
Again, I'm not bashing the families that had to put their kids up for adoption for the benefit of the kid. I applaud that and realize that has to be one if the hardest decision they could make. I'm referring to those that throw their kids away like a piece of trash.
This is where the Chinese Govt. comes in. In a Communist culture, the government is supposed to care for its citizens by (among other things) provide for their medical and educational needs. When he was brought into the orphanage system no one did anything to see if he was actually deaf and never bothered with any testing or attempts to identify if he is deaf, if so, how severe is the hearing loss/deafness.. There was zero effort to diagnose anything. So much for the government caring for its most defenseless... Then, there is education. In China, if you live outside Beijing or Shanghai, and you have a kid that is deaf, you are pretty much screwed. In that geographically huge nation, with billions of people, the only two places that the government will provide ANY sign language classes for deaf kids is in those two cities. So, they have 100% turned their backs on any deaf person outside of those two cities. This is a perfect example of how much they care for their citizens.
Another example of how disabled people are looked after in china. I spent a week in Wuhan. Every day I would make time to throw my son on my back and walk around the city (within close proximity to my hotel). This was important for many reason. For us to bond and for him to begin to trust me. And, I would see something, get his attention, point to it, then show him the sign for that object. I was exposing him to sign language by walking the streets of Wuhan. While doing so, I learned a whole lot about the city, country and its citizens. I saw several severely disabled people on those streets. to preface this, I'm not a soft hearted sap. I'm an Army vet and was a street cop in the most dangerous neighborhood, of the most dangerous city in the US. Cant tell you how much blood guts and gray matter I dealt with. I'm very comfortable being around chaos, violence and pure evil. So, it was heartbreaking to walk the streets of Wuhan and see dozens, if not more severely disabled people being used for profit. There were a ton of people that had severe cerebral palsy that were literally lying in the streets, unable to move due to severe disability, covered in dirt, hadn't showered in days, disgustingly filthy covered in dirt, mud and urine. Someone drug these poor people out into the streets and dumped them there with a cup to collect money from the public out of pity.
Back to the honey trap stuff. in addition to the cop I mentioned previously, almost daily, I ran into random people that approached me for various reasons, and were overly polite to help. Every one of them, like the cop spoke perfect English. Here are a couple examples of how random and bizarre these incident were. At a McDonalds, the first day in country, and I hadn't gotten my son yet, a teenaged boy approached me and asks if I need help ordering. I declined his offer. He then stood next to me striking up a conversation. He spoke grammatically perfect english. We made small talk as I was waiting for my food then followed me to my table and sat down to continue talking. I asked him why he wasn't in school. HE said he was on a lunch break. He then insisted that I accompany him back to his school and come to his class so I could meet his fellow class mates. I was shocked by that! I refused. I then immediately finished my lunch and left, He followed me for a block or two before I insisted he leave me alone because I had an appointment to meet my son for the first time. He then asked if he could go with me! I had to raise my voice at him and tell him to go away and leave me alone.
The next day my son and I were eating breakfast in the hotel dining room. the waiter, again spoke perfect english and was way too nice, like overly nice. He pretty much ignored every other table in the dining room and stood right next to my table and continued to try and initiate a conversation. I had to get him to go away by explaining to him, that this was the first real meal that I was able to have with my son. He got the hint and went away. Then about half of the time I was coming or going from the hotel I just happened to run into him. Hmm, not suspicious at all. Then one of the last nights I stayed at that hotel, this hotel waiter told me that he was getting off work soon and invited me to go a bar with him and his friends. WTF? NO WAY IN HELL! I would never take a kid to a bar at home with my own friends. Let alone, take him to a bar half way around the world in a city that I don't know with people that I didn't know. The weirdness continued for the rest of the time I was there. All of these weird interactions with people I'd never met, inviting me to deviate from my schedule to go do weird shit was pretty obvious.
Just like your insistence that my observations were incorrect. You are starting to remind me of many of the people that I was referring to. Why are you so persistent to make me change my opinion on this matter? Why are my opinions and observations so important to you? Kinda weird!? making me start to change opinions of who exactly I'm interacting with.

If you want to sling insults, at least use the correct terminology.
I don’t know your involvement with china, and I really don’t care. I was simply responding to the video to share my personal experiences. Yet, I chose to respond and start a conversation explaining my perspective. Yet, you don’t give a damn about my experiences (reason for my initial post). I had an airport stop in Shanghai once, wasn't entering into China at all, only changing planes. The police in the airport insisted that they scan my passport, and asked why I stopped in China. They knew I worked for the US Government when they looked at my passport pages, and started to ask me strange questions. After I showed them the onward ticket to Thailand, they finally let me leave. I won't ever book a flight that changes planes in China again. I can only imagine how bad it could have become.

He didn't CHOOSE to become one, he was extremely poor and really didn't have much choice. Anyway, cut a long story short, he was petrified that he would get deported back to China. He said he would get killed, probably within a week. I got out long before him, he was in for a long stretch and I tried to stay in touch (he wasn't a Gangster or a Thug, he was a nice kid, and quite lost), I got one letter from him in his broken Engrish but never heard from him again after that. This was followed by an ultimatum, delete the video or my 4 years in medschool will be rendered null. The choice was obvious to me, I deleted the video, wrote an apology letter to the man and university and talked to the police explaining I didn't have malintent... Indian American here. I visited Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong in 2018. HK was probably the most enjoyable and I wanted to make a trip to Beijing or Shanghai and Tokyo next.
After reading this and watching some of your other videos, I am disgusted by China and have zero desire to go there. They don’t deserve any of mine or anyone else’s tourism income. I’m sure they love blonde haired, blue eyed people though. I’m sure they’re invited and welcomed everywhere.
I know a lot of TH-cam channels do this for only monetary gain. I know the video where you talked about the serial beach monkey likely was demonetized so I know you’re not doing this for money.

While I can't disagree, neither the American nor British education systems help promote critical thinking either. Maybe 20-30 years ago moreso, but all you need to do is go compare test papers over the years and you'll realise the whole world over is being dumbed down. We're no longer taught analytical processes and healthy scientific skepticism, we're taught we already have the answers, and all you need to remember/receit/repeat information correctly to pass. It's quite the embarrassment to actually look into how easy test papers are these days, and kinda realise why every generation seems to keep getting dumber. Unless you can repeat your government's version of events, history and ideology - you're not a good citizen, and won't fit into society. That's not just a Chinese thing.
You can strongly correlate American nationalism with Chinese nationalism at times, both equally are blinded by their media and world view. The huge difference is that most Americans aren't afraid of speaking their honest opinion. whether it's against their own government or not.

@@adangbe Multi billion infrastructure projects, funded by China to all over Africa, with Made in China "quality" with decades long maintenance deals that most likely has some rather "interesting" fine print ending up costing African countries way more than if it was made locally and this is for exchange for rights for natural resources, but since its China they will just take everything from the ground and leave toxic waste land after them. Western corporations sure are assholes that do similar stuff if they can get away with it, but least they havent necessarily bought and paid for your whole political leadership of the country and international organizations.. with China if you want to get it to stop, you are fighting your own countrys police, military, government , large propaganda machine and then CCP.
Surveillance and information networks built by Huawei=CCP spying mainly for China, what then can be used to get dirt of your politicians etc worth to mention, to then used as black mail material to do exactly what CCP want them to do.
Essentially CCP has flooded Africa with money, built everything, they only know how its operated, they have bought your governments, so they essentially own everything. Even if you try create uprising against them, they are spying you, chancing public opinion against you, your government will see you as treat to them and paint you as terrorist and then even if you manage to take over the country, China might send its military to "help against terrorist insurgency", wipe their political enemies and properly invade the country.
Only way is to get Large movement to force your governments to push China out from Africa and you guys to start building your own countries. You have natural resources and work force, just need to get some population control so there is no famine (there needs to be enough food to everyone. Foreign aid does not anything but make things worse when you guys increase your population when there is artificially increased resources around.). Then start mining etc operations with hired experts from other countries if you dont have experts on your own and start making capital to build things your self. West has already developed lots of technology to help you out and we have made strives on environmental protection, so feel free to use that information to protect your natural resources like farm lands.
This is very complicated topic, but i hope you get my point. I genuinely wish Africa would start prosper, since this stagnation does not help anyone and only enables exploitation from corporations and countries like China. This way hopefully there is no need to migrate to other countries, since out systems simply cannot handle mass immigration that has been happening and i know those who come here are the rich and able, moving already limited number of better educated and well off people away from Africa that would be needed there to start building prosperous tomorrow. Maybe good start would be those who actually know English and have access to internet to start educating others on things like environmental protection, recycling, technology, farming and so on in grass root level. Leave the mysticism and religion, cause those seem to have negative impact on progress like Catholic mandate of not using condom and dont know where this come from but you can cure AIDS with raping virgin. Education and information should be good start far as i see. Just my two or three cents on topic.

Quite similar in Thailand, with having to report one's address etc. The Thai army has always had its tentacles in government here, coup after coup. They know where foreigners are, albeit it is very laidback and nothing like being followed or harassed as in China. Suspect Thai immigration took their cue from the Chinese.

Friend of mine had a similar experience- they had done research on him and then placed a very attractive woman next to him at the airport (China). This woman purported to be very knowledgable in the areas my friend worked in. She offered to give him a lift back to her place so they could discuss their mutual interest. My friend immediately spotted the trap - what are the odds of a beautiful woman sitting next to you, who also knows your area of expertise? - and politely declined the offer. My friend doesn't vlog or make anti-Chinese statements, he was just a guy in China, on a business trip. I mention this because don't think you have to be Ernesto Guevara to get their attention, they love picking up people, at all levels, who might later prove useful.

The only problem I have with this is that I was only there for 3 days and not for business purposes. How does the CCP know to target me in such a short amount of time?
