Thanks for this video! Idk much about cars/trucks as I inherited my dads 2016 F150 after he passed away in 2021. this video was extremely informationally helpful 😊about a week ago i received the same code "manifold stuck open bank 2" and i also questioned the entire intake manifold replacement on 2 valves 🤔
Awesome video! I’m having the same issue with my ‘16 F150. When they told my I needed to replace the entire intake manifold I was skeptical but seems that is what I need to do. Sounds like a common problem on these trucks.. too bad it’s not a factory recall. No extended warranty here.. ouch.
That’s why i don’t put money Into mods other than wheels (only if I don’t like stock, which was the case on my 19 limited). These trucks are only good for 5 years before things start going. I buy higher trims and trade-in every 100,000 kms.
So my 17’ F150 5.0 is making an actual knocking sound and the dealership called and said it was either this or valve train issue. Knock is intermittent so it’s kind of hard to tell and leads me to believe it’s not mechanical. Did issues with this cause any “flapping noises”?
I have the same problem on my 2017 F150 V8. Ford dealership told me up to 6 weeks for them to get the intake manifold. I found the OEM part online but couldn't find any videos on replacing on my specific model. I may proceed with DIY anyway.

Shouldn't be too bad to replace though
The dealership just replaced the manifold runner on my 5.0 today. And yes, you can purchase just the actuator and replace just that part.
Good to know, thanks!
I'm having the same problem on my vehicle and ford is telling me it's not covered under warranty when I know it is??
It should be. Mine was covered under my extended warranty

My last F150 had 240,000 miles on it and I only replaced ball joints and tie rod ends. Not true
Super useful video......just kidding.😃
They are $610.00 now, just had the issue and new intake seems to be sucking air.
Did you have any ticking when your intake runner was bad ? Thanks .
Nothing just the CEL
Does it sound like it's coming from the valve Cover? If so thats common with Fords. Lash adjusters on fords are known for that.

No, all mine was an engine light. It showed no symptoms

Can you send me a link to where you found this online? I'm facing this on my 2016 and having trouble finding the part myself.
I have a 2009 and mine has the same problem. Ebay has thr part. Check different Dealers Its in stock in Texas
F150 Larry yaught
are you kidding me?
They wanted $1863 at the Ford house for my intake on a 2017 gt. Thats ridiculous
That's crazy. You should be able to get aftermarket for way cheaper
@@AutoDad thats part and labor. I did it myself in an hour
It wasn’t under warranty? I’m having issues with my 2017 right now as well.
