One of my favorite quotes about religious narcs...
A narcissist will carry the Bible in one hand and a knife in the other. It depends on the audience as to which hand you'll see.

Its not a coincedence the latin root religio means "to bind" the mind. The whole idea is you get to use god as a proxy for yourself, you get to impose your interpretation of reality on other people and put all the heat from that onto an illusion. When you ask one of them a genuine question or poke fun at one of their religion's aspects and they rage at you its a dead giveaway.

    • @GoldenLightWorker1
      @GoldenLightWorker1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Wicca "witchcraft" needs to stop being the scapegoat religion when people of different faiths act narcissistic. That in itself is a form of bigotry, discrimination and hate speech. There are people with good intentions and bad intentions that associate with all religions.
Manifesting was originally known as spell casting until people of different faiths decided to rebrand it to feel comfortable using. Holistic healing like using natural remedies to heal was originally done by witches and has now become popular among all. Shadow work is now known as cbt and refraining your mindset in the therapy community. Candle magic is commonly used by many by placing a candle on a birthday cake and the birthday person making a wish and blowing it out. Energy healing /energy work has long been practiced by witches and many wise cultures over the years. There are many more examples.
Although many claim to be victims of narcissists ab*se ... it's important to be accountable and not to perpetuate discrimination for other religions and cultures just because you are angry or have been wronged.

My mother would tell me I had no relationship with God because I did not read the Bible, attend sermons, fast, or pray like her. She would use the Bible scripture and sermons to passively attack me. Either myself or my children were regularly labeled as demonic yet, she would throw a tantrum, stomp her feet, and march off like my toddler. It was constant guilt-tripping and threats of ‘God is going to punish you’ to keep us under her control.

Religion becomes a weapon to use for narcissists. The overall biblical concept of love and kindness is replaced by singular Bible verses that fit their whatever sick agenda is at that time. I’m never impressed by those that can spew out Bible verses in a moments notice. Always a red flag for me. It’s usually a mask for manipulation, meanness, and power. Actions speak louder than words. Every time I've known somebody who makes a production about God, and the Bible, and Jesus and about going to church...I've been burned by them. Every time. The Pharisees made a big production of how religious and "good" they were. Jesus said love in deed not in word. Talk is cheap, and I'm finally learning to be really careful of people who go on about what a good Christian they are. There are quiet humble Christians, but the abusers hiding behind it and just using God (they use everybody so I guess God is no exception), they give Christianity a bad name.
I read a book that narcissism is more modern terminology but they are mentioned in the Bible, the Pharisees being a prime example.

People see the way someone looks on the outside. God sees the way someone really is on the inside. Religious hypocrites can't fool God with fake piety and outward appearances because, to Him, they're like whitewashed tombs.
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness." (Matthew 23: 27, KJV).

Just left a church pastored by a narcissist who unfortunately also happens to be my landlord. I didn’t make a scene or anything, just left quietly. One week later (yesterday) I get certified mail that he’s raised my rent by $400 (40%). I was a pillar in the church and now none but a few friends will even speak to me. It will also probably cost me my government job too because there are many church members in the chain of command. It’s insanity, I only left because I couldn’t put up with his behavior (legitimately disqualified for ministry several times over) and some doctrinal errors. I left to attend another church where I could continue to grow but apparently I’m to be treated as an infidel. It’s incredibly sad, I’ve been in that church for more than 30 years since I was a child. At any rate I’m glad to be out of that heretical lordship cult of personality.

my brother who is the golden child in our family, highly praised by my narcissistic mother, is very religious. He goes to church every sunday, he always says that without church he would be lost. He is fasting several times a year, he gives money to charity and poor people, to priests and children in need. But, he has no heart. He is full of rage. He lies and cheats everyone, especially in business. He made so much money from stealing it from his business partners, millions of dollars, that the government of our country put him on the black list and was asked to present to court for several justice cases. However, my brother being the narcissist and spoiled rat that he is, he went on a trip to Spain with his family and ever came back. They moved there so that he could escape the law here and eventually avoid jail. My mother is still managing his business here. She is 82 now so she may not be afraid of going to jail at this age, but i think she is also not aware of the scams he is still forcing her to do in his name. You just nailed it with this video.

You really nailed that one! I have been single and living alone for the last 10 years. I married a narcissist 25 years ago and went through 10 years of hell. Then I met a great woman but she died of cancer after 5 years of living together so I just stayed single and don't want to be hurt again. But in January when the weather was freezing I let a homeless woman stay with me for help her. She was ok at first but then the signs something was amiss began to appear quickly. She said she believed in God and prayed but I would cook dinner and I always say a silent prayer, sometimes a couple of minutes. She would just start eating. She said something about why it took me so long to pray sometimes and I told her I had some things to say. She just told me she would say "Thanks God." She was here 33 days so I got to know her better and she told me she walked with God and her name was different than her birth name. She is an addict and I tried to help her straighten up but she being a narcissist thought she knew better and left me for her new supply even though I begged her to stay. I get attached to people sometimes when I shouldn't. But I really wanted to help her. But she was only gone 25 days before she got busted with a meth pipe at the house I told her was not a good place for her. On her arrest sheet where it asks about religion it says "none." I thought I knew a lot about narcissist after my 10 year marriage but this woman taught me more in 33 days! Thank you God for escaping that one!

Thank you very much for this video. Both my parents are narcissists I realized a year or so ago.
I would like to share a tiny tidbit from my own life before I walked away from home 13 years ago.
I am a 37 year old Turkish female and a muslim. My parents raised me and my younger sister with the idea that we should be forever grateful to our parents because our mother gave birth to us. We were treated like slaves, we weren't allowed anything, not even our own thoughts and opinions. Whenever we "rebelled" they would regularly throw a Turkish Islamitic saying at us that says "the key to paradise lies under your mothers feet". And this made me doubt myself and our beautiful religion so much back then, but I always told myself that God does not condone abuse and we're no slaves, we are not supposed to put up with abuse eternally.
Now years later I'm still trying to heal, I have many traumas and mental (anger) issues because of them. And 7 years ago I also learned that I'm autistic so that doesn't help much either. So I have a long way to go but lucily I am not alone. I have a boyfriend (husband) with whom I've been living with since past 11 years so he supports and helps me a lot.

I forgot to add, my parents treated me and my younger sister like trash while our youngest brother was allowed and got anything and everything he wanted. He was/is their favourite which made everything they did to us even more difficult for me to accept.
There was a long time that I hated them for years, it's just recently that I realised that I no longer hate them. I am still angry at them sure, but no hate. I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive them though.

He promptly began the smear campaign against us and then fired us saying we retired. Told the body (congregation) not to call us and continues well over a year later to slander us and others. Uggghhh, so true. My ex Narc. husband was always using service at church to look on the outside like he was superior and kind and dedicated. As if!! He was in leadership and on committee's, but surprise, surprise I caught him in a chat online, setting up a hookup with another married woman in our church, to meet to hook up, DURING the church service!!! You can't make this stuff up. As soon as I saw the messages I found out where this woman lived, and I showed up at her house, went right to her door and rang the bell. I told her I knew and if she didn't tell her husband I would tell him and show him the messages. I asked our minister to remove my husband from authority and committee's at the church, and they looked at me like I was the adulterer. They refused and continued to let him lead in the church. I told the minister that as his wife and as a member of the church I objected and was offended. Narcissists suck. They have no line they won't cross.
It is not just the Muslim faith Danish. My father is a Christian and he also tries to use scripture to shame people into bowing to his whims and will. I don't fall for it. He was formerly an alcoholic for the majority of my childhood, running off to get drunk and run around on my mother. When he gave up the addiction to alcohol & women, he traded it for religion. He has used this to alienate most of the people in the family, including his 3 daughters.

My experiences with narcissistic religious types, especially those who consider themselves ‘leaders’, is that they think their religiosity sanctions their abuses. Not all youth group leaders are predators but predators often try to gain such positions in order to abuse. I remember one youth group leader who grabbed my ass during a retreat and said, “I’ve always wanted to do that.” I’d already been sexually abused as a little girl and my abuser terrified me, threatened me into keeping silent about it. I had communal narcissistic parents who I already knew didn’t want me reporting things like this to them. “You have to learn to fight your own battles. I can’t fight your battles for you.” These abusive religious figures gain cover from many corners. Be aware and help others be aware. Thanks.

I believed the same: every Christian is nice, helps others, has love, time for your next, etc.
The bitter experience, most christians in Europe love themselves! They are egoistic, self-centered, care only about themselves and their family. They don't bother about other christians. Indifference grew - Empathy decreased.
Some of them give, but what they give, are only crumbs. [Besides, I live in a rich nation.]
Though, the majority are not Narc., but only religious, with some exceptions of real Narc. among them.
A lot of European christians who are singles feel very lonely. Why? Because love=agape has grown cold. Mathew 24.12.

Another thing he totally embraced about Christianity is that Christ saves you from your sin (which I do believe), but he took it to the degree that nothing he would do after 'becoming a Christian' would ever be judged. I was to obey him, but there were no rules for HIM. Win/win situation for him. I feel so bad your father was so horrible to you. These monsters really mess up your head, that's for sure.
