I got into a Hindu cult in 1980… led by my former RC mom in Berkeley CA… after meeting Christ in 1994 I didn’t find Orthodoxy until I was 56 in 2014. Thank God He brought me to the Truth finally! 🙏🏻☦️🙏🏻

18:24 "We should be aware that this attitude is a danger to some of us American and European converts. With our calculating rationalistic western minds, it is very easy to think we are being zealous and strict - when actually we are chiefly indulging our passion for self righteousness"

The real purpose of the adversary is in Jesus encounter with him in his wilderness encounter. It is written!!! Its still same now. The orthodox gp for the Septuagint ,the KJV only go for the Masoretic. Its all about definitions of different man made theological abstracts.

We human beings are not omnipresent. Just because events happen which we cannot explain to ourselves fully about the nature of an event or the event cannot be explained to us by any other human being as to why it happened so concerning the natural causes which contributed to it we can't jump to the conclusion right away that the cause of the event was unseen demons. Imagine if any orthodox priest started feeling paranoid before his death about how many miracles Saint Charbel he was being credited with helping to make possible. In addition none of us should be forced to accept that the afterlife will only be possible for us to start living out until after the second coming of the Lord and so a priest from only one orthodox tradition that believes so is qualified to discern if an event was a miracle. Yes it is human nature to feel curious sometimes about things which we have been forbidden to do until the proper time to do so. That alone cannot explain fully why communism often fails too. Nor is it an adequate explanation as to why the desire in all children of god to learn more about the unseen world often increases while those in authority seem disorderly and innefectual in how they are doing things at the time. Orthodoxy cannot so easily be explained by anyone in the flesh like whenver those doing so are in the habit of for example talking about only the atmosphere.

Very beautiful but let us not forget the following information.
Today the Old and Authentic ROCOR is the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) that was formed in 1920 by bishops who were forced to leave their homeland along with millions of Russian people, all fleeing the horrors of the communist system. The ROCA bishops, clergy, and laity remain loyal to the original mission of an independent ROCA.
Despite protests from within the ranks of bishops, clergy, and laypeople, on May 17, 2007, a large part of the ROCA entered into Eucharistic communion with the MP with the signing of the “Act of Canonical Communion” and is now known as the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR - MP). The Moscow Patriarchate (MP) and the current ROCOR-MP do need to repent of the heresies of Ecumenism and Sergianism.
The smaller part of ROCA that chose to remain loyal to the historical Russian Orthodox Church and to continue the mission of the ROCA is not in Eucharistic communion with the Moscow Patriarchate (MP), the state-controlled official Russian Church.
The Churches of the ROCA remnant are present today in the Diaspora District of ROCA. The list of Parishes is present on the rocana and auroca web sites. The ROCA Churches are located in Australia, New Zealand, St. Petersburg, as well as in the U.S. and Canada.
For these who would like to understand more about the history of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) they can read the article "ROCA the Beacon Of Light" by Protopriest Nikita Grigoriev on the rocana web site.
Also, we remember that the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) Council of Bishops in August 1983 in the person of its Metropolitan Philaret of New York (1903-1985), noting the extent of the Ecumenist contagion, issued an Anathema to Ecumenism in the straight line of the Holy Fathers, condemning anyone who participated in this heresy.
When the Church pronounces anathema on a certain heresy, we must NOT forget that it is for eternity.
    Anathema to Ecumenism (1983)
"To those who attack the Church of Christ by teaching that Christ’s Church is divided into so-called “branches” which differ in doctrine and way of life, or that the Church does not exist visibly, but will be formed in the future when all “branches” or sects or denominations, and even religions will be united into one body; and who do not distinguish the priesthood and mysteries of the Church from those of the heretics, but say that the baptism and eucharist of heretics is effectual for salvation; therefore, to those who knowingly have communion with these aforementioned heretics or who advocate, disseminate, or defend their new heresy of Ecumenism under the pretext of brotherly love or the supposed unification of separated Christians, Anathema!
--- Note: The relics of Metropolitan Philaret of New York were found to be completely incorrupt in 1998.

Fortunately at just the time that Archbishop Averky died, another zealot for True Orthodoxy took over as the “watchman of the Lord” (Ezekiel 33), warning the people against the coming of the enemy. This was Metropolitan Philaret. In 1977 he warned me: “Vladimir, I advise you to obey the anathema of the Catacomb Church against the Soviet church.” He was one of the very few who were not taken in by Fr. Dmitri Dudko, the dissident Soviet priest, warning in 1980 that although his courage was to be admired, since he was “confessing” from within a false church, he would fail. And sure enough: Dudko “repented” of his confession, and is now issuing passionate dithyrambs in praise of Stalin! Metropolitan Philaret sealed his righteous confession against both the MP and World Orthodoxy by heading the list of hierarchs that anathematized ecumenism and the ecumenists in 1983, and years later his body was discovered to be incorrupt. Two jurisdictions deriving their orders from the Russian Church Abroad have now glorified him among the saints. But not, alas, the Russian Church Abroad, whose present chief-hierarch buried his relics under concrete...”-Vladimir Moss: The Battle for the Russian Orthodox Church (Page 139)

Father Seraphim Rose was much more sympathetic towards Father Dmitry Dudko after his imprisonment, and change of tone. Although certainly it would have been holy of him to suffer, and it is a tragedy that he did not, we see a different tone in Moss versus Father Seraphim Rose.

It’s one thing to be sympathetic… It’s another to put him in the same regard as the New Martyrs who did face persecution.)

@@Unseen_warfare. This is really interesting. Father Seraphim Rose constantly focused on the issue of people being over calculating and the trouble caused by over rationalism, especially in Western Converts. And this over calculating mindset seems to be precisely what you are encouraging here.
And you're suggesting that he was too sympathetic? Personally I think he was very well aware of what the truth and the right thing to do was. And he specifically was not a fan of those who attacked Father Dmitry Dudko and who refused to be sympathetic to him. I'll side with Blessed Father Seraphim Rose, who spoke extensively on this issue.

@@ryrocks9487 (No, I think he was right in the sense that Father Dmitri was doing the best he could in his situation. I just agree with Saint Philaret that he was doing this from inside a schismatic/heretical body and it wouldn’t bare fruit because of it. Which Fr. Seraphim clearly says communion would be impossible. I’ll take the side of the many New Martyrs of the Catacomb Church that faced persecution from the MP instead of praising Stalin. Saint Philaret was sympathetic, he just didn’t let that get in the way of his reason. You aren’t realistic and I doubt Fr. Seraphim would have agreed with you even about this. Considering you are a conservative new calendarist that doesn’t remotely understand the actual Royal Path)

@@Unseen_warfare. Fascinatingly presumptuous to assume that I am a "Conservative New-Calendarist," or that you have a monopoly on understanding the Royal Path.
As Father Seraphim Rose said, talking about Fathers George Calciu and Dmitry Dudko, but specifically Father George(of blessed memory who's relics were incorrupt)"Orthodoxy today, despite the often serious differences that separate many of the local Churches, is still one, and a genuine spiritual in One Orthodox Church cannot but affect believers elsewhere."
I remain spiritually united with the Church of Jesus Christ, and the brave confessors of the Holy Orthodox Church, in both the Catacomb Church and the Patriarchates that persecuted them.

  • @adrianwhyatt1425
    @adrianwhyatt1425 ปีที่แล้ว

Excellent. However note that Seraphim Rose died slightly before the World Council of Churches (WCC) refused to allow a True Orthodox Bishop, Matthew of the Cyclades, to request support for True (aka Genuine, Authentic, Real or Catacomb) discriminated and persecuted unto martyrdom including death. This finally convinced the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) that positive attempts to persuade "Orthodox" "member" "churches" of the WCC had, sadly, reached their end. So, it was time to issue the Anathema Against Ecumenism, the movement of all false religions attempting to create a single worldwide religion with branches, and all its adherents. By 2001 because of the failure of any "New Calendarist" or (entirely "Western" "Gregorian Calendar") "Orthodox" jurisdictions to repent of "Ecumenism", under Metropolitan Vitali.
Sadly "Father" Dmitri Dudko, along with all those who failed to leave the fallen Ecumenist "Moscow Patriarchate" and the vast majority of the African Orthodox, fell away from the Church, falling under the Anathema Against Ecumenism.
    Dmitri Dudko

The African Orthodox Churches, now with the exception of the Russian ones, were always on the New Calendar and under the Patriarchate of Alexandria which was a founding member of the WCC, and Father Seraphim Rose always supported their mission while opposing ecumenism. Nuance and a holistic understanding is worth much more than a simplistic and memetic understanding of these issues.
