      He was obviously dedicated to the truth seeking from early days, but he maitand until he really found it. He was not fooled by the false spiritual teachings , which provided comfort and often pleasures. Seems to me that after he found the truth, the truth assured him in so many ways. Than he could not stay silent and started sharing his path to the truth and what he became was living proof... thousands around him will be saved. God have mercy on us. Thank you.

    In my experience with suffering and despair, if you endure long enough, the mind will invent a way to find meaning. I came to this idea before hearing convincing arguments for Christian faith, so afterwards, I cannot be convinced that whatever faith I might feel is not some insanity invented by my mind in order to avoid despair. I do have what I consider to be reasonable and meaningful ideas of God, which are not dependent on any religious tradition (although they are informed by religious traditions), but I cannot prove that any of them are right. I just like to imagine them and live according to them, because that seems like the most reasonable thing to do.
    When it comes to matters of preference (such as "I like vanilla"), believing a thing makes it true. So, it seems to me to be within my power to invent whatever meaning I like, and so long as it is not demonstrably in contradiction with sensory evidence or with logic, no one has the power to tell me that I'm wrong. I could assert, for instance, "That is a beautiful sky. Seeing this alone has made the day worth it," and if I believe it, it becomes true, and I do not need unverifiable supernatural claims as a foundation. Having a supernatural base for a system of values is helpful for unifying one's thoughts into a system, and I speculate on this, as I said, but I can prove only very little.
    I do not believe anything with certainty that I can't verify myself, because most people who have ever lived (including Christians) have been liars. So, I will not believe the gospel the same way as I believe that I am sitting here typing on my keyboard, until I see some kind of comprehensible miracle or another pointing in the direction of a particular religious doctrine.

      Knowledge about god doesn't exist. God is the unknown. All so called saints have no knowledge about god too. They only repeat what they have read and heard from others. They have only neurotic second-hand shit book knowledge. First of must all religious preachers learn to have a mind of its own.

    The Catholic and Orthodox churches have historically both claimed exclusivity. In other words, if you're not in the church, you're not saved. But making sense of which church is the right one would require one to be an expert on church history, which does not seem fair. Also, so far as I can tell, the logic used by both sides already by the first church schism was not sound. In other words, I believe that neither the Eastern nor Oriental orthodox were guided by the holy spirit when they split. But even if I'm wrong on that point, that is an issue of misunderstanding arcane Christology and church history from a long time ago, and it does not seem fair to make my salvation dependent on this. I used to be Eastern Orthodox, but now I disbelieve that any church actually speaks for God. The churches that have a sound church tradition have contradictions in their claims, and the churches with looser dogma do not even know what they believe.
    Suppose a king wants to send an important message to all his subjects. At first, there is only one message and one interpretation of the message, but the process of copying and relaying the message made a number of contradictory versions by the time it reaches peasants in the most distant parts of the kingdom. Suppose there is one peasant who receives several different versions of the king's order, and he says, "I don't believe that any of you speak for the king. You are trying to deceive me somehow. Go away." If the king passes by this peasant on a journey and learns of this situation, should he punish the peasant?

      But suppose the king guaranteed that at least one copy would be the true one and that he would help whoever asked him to find it? Isn't this what we find in the Gospels? As for those outside of the Church, several of our saints have said that those who have faith in the Trinity and believe in the incarnation of Christ and are not willing heretics are not totally cut off from God.

    • @arkenjoan2220
      @arkenjoan2220 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is incorrect- The EO church states they do not claim to know who is going to heaven, and do not claim that you have to be EO to get there. Of course they believe theirs is the true teaching (would be ridiculous and illogical if they taught a teaching they didn’t know was true or not) but that shouldn’t be confused with the status of souls outside of Orthodoxy. There are other ways to have knowledge of Truth besides researching history- I know many converts who were not compelled by research but by experience. But if history matters to you, the information is there. May God bless and guide you I pray!

    • @brendangolledge8312
      @brendangolledge8312 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arkenjoan2220 I haven't done the research thoroughly myself, but I have heard that there was no deviation from the claim to exclusivity within the Orthodox Church until the 19th century. That's what, "extra Ecclesiam nulla salus" originally meant. They were very clear that anathema was equal to damnation.
      I have heard that in the Synod of Jerusalem in 1672, they said that you aren't even a Christian if you aren't under an Orthodox Bishop.

    Proverbs 4:4-9 Living Bible
    4 He told me never to forget his words. “If you follow them,” he said, “you will have a long and happy life. 5 Learn to be wise,” he said, “and develop good judgment and common sense! I cannot overemphasize this point.”[a] 6 Cling to wisdom-she will protect you. Love her-she will guard you.
    7 Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And with your wisdom, develop common sense and good judgment. 8-9 If you exalt wisdom, she will exalt you. Hold her fast, and she will lead you to great honor; she will place a beautiful crown upon your head.

      The Qur'an is not full of wisdom but instead full of Satanic verses that Allah had to cancel out since Satan was able to trick Muhammed into adding them. We don't even have any guarantee that Allah actually canceled out those verses since it could just as easily have been Satan adding that verse to make us lower our guards and trust the foolish Qur'an. Allah is a weak god, Muhammed is a false prophet who fabricated verses, and Satan is the master of both of them. Do some research on the Qur'an and your "prophet" he is not a servant of God, that much we can be sure of.

      If you are willfully ignorant of the Word of God, do not speak on it. God can use and change anyone according to his will. As a fellow Christian, it reminds us about the life of Saint Paul and his sin of murdering many Christians yet, and still God took him as a servant and made him a minister to the people. Fr. Seraphim repented of his sin of homosexuality and if you simply did a quick Google search or look on Wikipedia, you would know that he was ashamed of his past sins and did those things as an unbeliever and a lost man.
      Let us not be quick judge our brothers and sisters of past sins which God hath forgiven while our own sins remain countless. Rather, judge, rebuke, and reprove each other while we are in the body of Christ and error in our ways. Finally, let us lift each other up in love and hold our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to high standards while continually searching our own hearts for any evil desire, asking our Lord to remove those things, and impute righteousness and faith that we may endure till the end and be saved. Amen☦️.

      Being gay is not a sin, but the act. He was a monk and avoided sin propably 100x better than we normies.

      Evil and sin are a privation of good and no man is made with any sin. No matter how much people today identify with their sins, it's not a part of anyone's nature. People are more than their temptations, from which God can and does save us

    FSR was at the least a type of genius and like us all a flawed human being.. Sadly his acolytes have fetishized his persona and thus uncritically addopted all his teachings . His book ' The Soul After Death' showed a willful manipulation of facts and his sad promotion of ancient occult beliefs positing them as traditionally Orthodox is deluded and dishonest
