Whenever somebody would ask if I’m ready I would say (in a Mexican accent) “yeah I ready” literally my entire life since I saw this when I was a kid. Finally when I was about 24 years old somebody picked up and got the reference… It was a great day!
Yeah but it's the waiting on someone to pick up what your throwing down.... sometimes read between the lines simply mean focus on the blank spaces between the words and sentences.
This movie always takes me back to my childhood. I still want to be Billy The Kid. Emilio Estevez played the hell out of that role. August 2020 will mark 30 years since it's release! Wow....
jim bishop yeah he should've because he's the one who would hire Garrett to track Billy down. But the delivery of that line, the zoom of the camera, truly remarkable. Would've liked to have seen this villain get his.
Kristofer Keller i agree he should have got his death along with the governor Lew Wallace, John Poe and that Irish pissant prosecutor. Billy should have killed them all.
Brings back childhood memories of watching this with my dad. He would always say to me in a joking way "What's the matter you only like boys" like the woman says in the movie, and he definitely loved repeating the line "You stole my farm Mr. Chisum"... with a lot of emphasis on the name Chisum. Alan Silvestri did the score. Same guy who composed BTTF, all 3. Predator 1 and 2. Who Framed Roger Rabbit. At least one of the Avengers movies. Many more besides those. I think he did the score for Forrest Gump as well.
@@ianmeadows3527 While I agree about the "Hollywoodness" of historical movies, I believe CaneFu was mereley pointing out that Emilio Estevez did the best job of playing Billy The Kid. I tend to agree.
"..Dirty Little Billy Bastards!" was one of my favorite lines of all time! Right up there with ".. You S**t Bird, you shot me!" from Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man and "..I'll be your Huckleberry!" from Tombstone! 😎👍
One of my most fav times that I quote to my lil bro and friends. It is one of the most memorable scenes and under rated of all time. It's priceless! Thank You for sharing it.
Like Coburn’s “Take your figures and shove them up your arrogant little ass and set fire to them.“ line to Billy the Kid... Almost the same line he uses to Lew Holland and Norris at the meeting at Governor Wallace’s. In Sam Peckinpah’s Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid... After being offered half of the $1,000 reward to capture the Kid. Garrett tells Norris to take his $500 and “Shove it up your ass and set fire to it...” Nice nod to another great Billy the Kid movie.

When i 1st saw this movie i thought 1 was better. Watch it a few more times and it became one of my favorite movies. It gets to you a bit in the heart. Blaze of Glory helped big time. Perfect song for the movie
James Coburns line "Well, you can take your little figures and shove them up your ass and set fire to them"... Is a repeat of his line from the movie "Pat Garrett & Billy the kid". Awesome music. It has it's moments, but I'll be honest, it's mainly the music and the quano city chase sequence that carries this movie and the small laughs that Emilio gives me that gets me through this mixed bag.

All those young stars in this scene-and James Coburn absolutely OWNS the scene, just a commanding presence in every way and especially in that moment-“I AM New Mexico”.
Magnificent Seven and the knife scene was the best. He was made for that movie. Bite the Bullet was a master piece on its own. Seems like movie stars should not die and be with us forever. I love the old movies. Ct/tx
Yeah he had a great voice just like Gene Hackman, Alec Baldwin & Jeff Bridges. It's ashame that all these guys have to die someday cuz not only were they great but today's actors rarely, if ever, have distinct voices like the old timers had.

James Coburn had such a powerful voice and presence. He sure is missed.
@John Doe You talking about from Butch Cassidy? That was Ted Cassidy, or Lurch from The Adams Family. He had a deep voice as well.
I said hello to him outside a theatre in London
Yeah no doubt about that
Great as Mr Waternoose in Monsters Inc. Terrific actor and terrific voice actor as well.
My favorite movie was In Like Flint, a James Bond parody starring Coburn. My 9 year old self thought he was the coolest guy alive.

James Coburn was the quintessential hero. Long overdue is the oscar for this man. No other face or voice carried such weight as this man.
He was great but there are others that are right up there with him. Sam Elliot & Robert Mitchum come to mind.
FYI, James Coburn won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the 1999 drama "Affliction." He died three years later at age 74.
His voice, Sam Elliot, Patrick Stewart, and Morgan Freeman are the best narrative voices in Hollywood.
