Wheelbarrow is very very helpful and a homeowner must.
Very good advice haha
Cardboard boxes work great… love this technique.❤️
Aww thank you so much ♥️
You are so funny lol. MORE OF YOU PLZ!
Haha I try being entertaining! There’s more to come! ♥️
We did this last fall in our front garden and yard and the cardboard is gone!! It actually works!!❤❤❤❤
It really does! I was amazed! I hope your garden is thriving!
You are quite the entertainer when you garden. Can't wait to see what's planted.
Haha I’m glad you’re entertained! 🤣 I know me too I still haven’t decided what to plant.
I am about to try this. So excited! Thanks for the great tips!
You got this! ♥️
Ikr....i need to get a wheelbarrow myself...😮
That would help haha
This is amazing. I went on a garden tour a few years back. One owner had done just this and her gardens were thriving years later!
Aww thank you so much!!
Your new garden looks great!! Your design looks like a pro job!! Im saving all my package cardboard, and I am going to top off my garden with mulch and wood chips.
Maybe you can look at Holly Bush, maybe succulents and some annuals plants will look nice❤❤❤
Aww thank you so much! ♥️ more to come!
Thanks for sharing this great idea.
You’re very welcome! More to come!
Love this video... for an added bonus, the laughs! ❤
Haha thank you! I’m a character 😂
I love this video you did a great job!! Thank you for sharing this with us! I am going to do this! I hope you have an amazing day!
Thank you so much! Your kind words are an encouragement to me 🥰
@@JoshOsborneVlog You are very welcome! I also subscribed to you and looking forward to watching your videos! Take care! 🙂
Good job! Next time, I'd mow the grass as low as possible so that the cardboard/soil you place atop can have greater stability.
That’s a good idea! Thank you!
I am doing this in my frint yard!!! Thanks for the idea!!!
You’re so welcome! I hope you love the results!
Thank you for this idea about cardboard, I’ve been planning to have my own flower beds soon and been saving some of my amazon boxes! Awesome & entertaining video, I enjoy watching your content. Love from TN!
Thank you so much! More to come!
I love this video. Thank you for sharing. I'm about to plant a native wildflower garde. And Ill use this method to get it going.
I think you’re really going to enjoy it. I did the same for my wildflower cut garden and it has really taken off! 🥰
What an awesome idea 💡👍
Thanks for sharing bud
You’re so welcome! Be on the lookout for more!
Turned out beautiful
Thank you so much! ♥️
Love it ❤️
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the great ideas, I’ve been wondering how to do a quick diy in a couple areas of my garden.😊
Aww thank you so much! There’s more to come! ♥️
You should watch Garden Answer. She always has great ideas
I do! She’s the one who inspired me! I love Laura!
@@JoshOsborneVlog same 🥰
This is brilliant! New gardener here. Running to your channel to see what you planted! 😆
Omg haha thank you so much! 🥰
❤looks great..
Thank you so much!
Great Video !!! Very Entertaining !!!
Aww thank you! ♥️
Good thing your yard is tiny; mowing around those tight curves gets old & stresses the grass. A little cart & a utility knife are an inexpensive & a smarter option, as is basic PPE, shoes. A trip to the ER whilst covered in sweat & manure don't sound fun for anyone involved. I hope you're happy with your end project.
Thank you so much for some of your advice! More videos to come!
Stay healthy! 🙏🏻💐❤️
Thank you! You too!
i'd like to do the same. great job.
hostas and ferns do well in shade as do impatiens
Thank you so much! Yes check out the video that I plant the shade garden! 😃
Great video
Thank you so much!
Awesome video 👍
Thank you!!
Hey Josh, I did this cardboard thing and placed my bag down flat took a razor knife and cut three sides of the bag folded it back onto cardboard and spread the dirt-double barrier. I liked the shoes easy to hose off …hey if you chew around you may be able to get the dirt brought to you in truck just get a tarp to have it dumped onto. Anyway It looks great…
Thank you so much!
New sub! Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Plant some hostas, of course. Some astilbe. Maybe a painted fern or two. Some Bergenia. Those will all come back next year and for a pop of color, try some begonias. Those would be annual. Except it just dawned on me I have no idea where you are because this is the first video I’ve seen of yours but I can tell with your “y’all” you are in the south somewhere so maybe begonias are a perennial for you? Thanks for sharing your garden with us! 😊♥️
Aww thank you so much!
@@JoshOsborneVlog it’s funny, I replied that right away and then went to your channel! lol.. & now I see what you planted… how is the larger Hosta doing? Did it take the move ok?
I just started one like this. Fingers crossed that it works!
Ong you’re gonna love it! 🥰
Looks pretty
Thank you!! More to come!
Can’t wait to see your new shade garden please share what it looks like after a few days, do the boxes actually keep the grass from coming through?
Thanks
Thank you so much! The boxes eventually break down and make the dirt more fertile. The grass under the boxes die due to no sunlight coming through. Be on the lookout for a shade garden video soon!
Lol love your video.
Thank you so much!
I think you should install a matching garden on the house next door!
Also, my dog thinks that compost is delicious! I put some in my backyard garden last weekend. 😂
Unfortunately Albus likes compost too 🤮
Thanks for sharing. Great job! What do you do to get such a beautiful lawn?
Thank you so much! It’s been a work in progress. It was pretty rough a few years ago, but I use lawn fertilizer and aerate the lawn every fall with an aerator.
A few types of hosta and a bush wiyh vase shape & bright flowers for spring time interest. Hostas bloom usually late summer to fall
Ooo very nice! Thank you!
You can just use the cardboard boxes as your garden. Plant your plants in the boxes put dirt in the box and plant
You know I hadn’t thought about that! Good idea! Thank you!
Hydrangeas, Lilac tree in the middle, Lavender. I got them all at lowes clearance in 2022 bot 50 plants. They still have them now also, they start marking them down. Lavender & geraniums keep bugs away
Very nice! Thank you so much!
Thanks Josh! So helpful for this newbie! I did flower bed about 3 weeks ago but didn't know any better to soak the cardboard...great tip! I'll be following the progress of shade garden. ❤ Rose
You’re so welcome. I’m here to teach and learn myself. There’s so much I don’t know but that’s the exciting part of this gardening journey! ♥️
I tried this. It was so beautiful…for A WHILE. Then little by little all the grass and weeds started popping up. It broke my heart.
O no! Hope that doesn’t happen to me! Thank you!
You can place weed barrier fabric, and then the top soil
Do you have a follow up video? How do you plant plants thru the card board? Thanks
I will do a follow up video soon! The card board breaks down and you can plant as normal!
lol really…get some real shoes lol and a wheelbarrow!! lol…😂
@@denisedewandel183 I know 🤣
Be careful digging near the electric box. Looks awesome!
Thank you so much!
I've been doing this for years. Love it. Recycle
It works great! Thank you!
Josh you did 👍🏽 great I just started following.
Plant whatever I love to eat .. best of luck❤❤
Ignore the haters
Thank you so much for your support ♥️
Plant some Rose they give you a longevity and very pretty when they bloom
Very good idea! Thank you!
💙👍🏻💙
♥️
Quick question.. did you put down edging or was it a hose to outline the garden beds?
I outlined it myself! I believe I videoed it!
If it's a shade garden I'd suggest Hostas
There’s a follow up video! Check out the May garden tour 🥰
I would have pull out all the grass little by little and then put down the cardboard and dirt.
The cardboard smothers the grass and it’ll die anyway! It’s less work!
You would sound less fatigued if you were wearing proper boots to garden in that offered support for you feet and back! I haven't seen your videos before and I enjoyed it!
Thank you! I know and with being a hairstylist you think I would work more ergonomically. Ha I’m glad you enjoyed my video be on the lookout for more!
I did this last year. What a joke
It looked like crap.
More videos to come! 😃
2:02 😂😂😂
Haha
I've read your not supposed to plant right next to your foundation. I'm a newbie so it just something to look at. That's what I'm doing
O ok I’ll have to look into it! Thank you!
I could kick myself. Here i was upset i had so much cardboard and took to recycling and i now wish i had them back.
Aww dang! I think newspaper might work too!
Hey where is part two…..the planting
Part 2 is “planting the shade garden” 😃
Good luck trying to plant with those boxes underneath. Maybe should have dug your holes first.
The boxes decompose! This is an easier method!
I'll pass on the cardboard that invites the worst of insects, once you have them they're extremely hard to get rid of. I'll stick with straw. You can put it under, around and over your seeds, seedlings and grown plants. Can't really do all that with glued stiff cardboard.
Thanks!
Earthworms love cardboards.
Yes and that’s good!
Can you speed it up more
Speed what?
Grown man’s voice is lighter than mines. Should watch Gino Jennings, he’s super insightful!!! But great video!! thanks.
Thank you so much!
Melissa stop the bullying already, grow up apparently you're not. Your words will boomerang 100 times worse and stays with you forever. It doesn't take alot to be nice.
Dude, your eyes match the grass. Boring video, but like the Irish ditty.
Ha thanks
Mosquitoes 🦟 😆 that was funny.
Haha
