    Great video as always! Tip: Make sure you press shift and auto for doing multiple automations simultaneously. It locks the auto and frees up your hands to twist multiple knobs. Enjoy!

    Hey Jeremy, great video! Actually there's an easy way to slice audio loops without having to resample them. By default loop files are loaded into the audio player. When it's selected in the plug-in view, either press "Shift + Browser" or the 4D encoder and choose Sampler. That way the audio file will be loaded into the Sampler and you're ready to slice it up! :) This also works the other way around.

      Exactly. And if you select another Group after Apply, it puts the slices into a kit instead of a single sound, if you prefer.

    Amazing sounds in this vid, never knew what LazerBass could do! Just a note: when you slice the sample and apply it to a single pad it maps it chromatically, so when keyboard mode is set to a scale it skips some of the slices - I usually turn the scale back to C chromatic when messing with sliced samples!

    Love these Maschine videos. Got a MK 3 a while ago so these videos have been a great help in seeing what can be done! If it is anything like the MK 3 you can press shift+auto to lock auto.

    You should try making a beat by mainly recording external instruments into it. I often only make my beats in Maschine+ and then almost everything else I record into the sampler as audio tracks and use Maschine as an arranger to organize and capture my ideas.

      That's really interesting I've always thought that way about the machine. I looked up the workflow on mpc's and it seems very confusing and less intuitive. now I'm kind of curious and want to try out and if you see for myself. Especially at a price point at 700 rather than 1300

      Can confirm, LazerBass is absolutely ridicules. I don't even get all the fancy knobs shit, I'm just using a mouse and keyboard lol.
      The control you get over the tone is miles ahead of the rest...and it's free @u@

    I'm trying to decide between this and the Analog RYTM. I want something similar to the Digitone (emphasis on synthesis over sampling, but still capable of sampling) but with pads for finger drumming. I hear the Maschine+ is great for finger drumming, but is it sample-only or can you build your own libraries? I know you've got a lot of experience with the Elektron workflow, have you had a chance to play with the RYTM? If you have, I'd love to know which way you'd go between that and this. Thanks as always, Jeremy. -Tyler

    • @RedMeansRecording
      @RedMeansRecording  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haven't touched the rytm yes sadly but it seems dope. Definitely different than the Maschine which is basically a daw

    • @sinepilot
      @sinepilot 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RedMeansRecording Yeah, see I still understand very little lol. I understand something like the MPCs would be a closer comparison to the Maschine+. I think I've already decided to get a Rytm, upon closer introspection I guess I'm just wondering if I'll still want something like Maschine+ too, if there will still be gaps in what I want to do. I recently found Ela Minus on TH-cam and I really like her dawless hardware setup and workflow, which relies heavily on Rytm and MPC

      @@gminorcoles hint: they were originally sampled and looped from vinyl. This is the digital version of that. Breakbeats require simplicity, and require looping a short segment. So even if you made your own drums, you’d still be sampling them and looping just one or two bars… it’s not a big difference.
